Description

Specialties

Your child will learn Spanish effortlessly and naturally. For children ages 1 to 8 yrs.

The main goal of the program is the verbalization of the Spanish language, for children to learn everyday functional language and to communicate with it.

Our classes are hands-on activity based and totally interactive, so children do what they love to do and do best, play! All wihile hearing Spanish. As they start to associate what they are doing with what they are hearing, they begin to ‘acquire’ Spanish in an effortless, natural way. In class, children are encouraged to use their new Spanish words, which they do very quickly.

SIW is a full immersion Spanish program, meaning the classes and activities are conducted in all Spanish without English translations — children don’t need them — they will learn Spanish easily and naturally, the same way they are learning their primary language.

Meet the Business Owner

Karina G.

Business Owner

Karina Giménez is a native Spanish speaker educated in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she studied early childhood language education and earned her degree from a prominent teacher’s College.

For eight years, while living in Buenos Aires, she developed and implemented early childhood foreign language programs at various local public and private schools.

Since 2002, here in the US, she has been teaching Spanish to children as an early childhood development program. From 2003 to 2005, she developed and implemented the early childhood Spanish program at Buckley Country Day School in Roslyn, Long Island. She founded SIW in 2005.

Karina believes strongly that all children should have consistent, methodical exposure to a second language before they turn eight, giving them the neural development that only takes place at this early age and the foundation for becoming multi-lingual. She started SIW to bring that opportunity to the children of Long Island.
