röm architecture studio is a boutique firm dedicated to the design of fine single family residences. Projects range from rehabilitation of Craftsman bungalows and Tudor mansions to new modern homes with high efficiency systems and new technology.

History

Established in 2001.

In 2011, röm architecture studio was awarded the AIA/​HUD Secretary’s Award Alan J. Rothman Award for Housing Accessibility for the ‘Magnolia Mid-​Mod’​project. This AIA National Honor Award recognizes work that demonstrates the «importance of good housing as a necessity of life, a sanctuary for the human spirit, and a valuable national resource.”​

The studio’s work has been widely published by magazines, newspapers, books, and online journals including Architectural Record, Seattle Met, Cottage Living, Fine Homebuilding, Old House Journal, and Better Homes & Gardens Kitchen & Bath Ideas, Pacific Northwest — The Seattle Times Sunday Magazine, Daily Journal of Commerce, The Accessible Home (Taunton), and AARP Guide to Revitalizing Your Home (Lark Books).

Carol S.

Business Owner

As a member of Historic Seattle and one of the region’s experts in historic preservation, restoration, and renovation, Carol has participated in the organization’s Bungalow Fair and Building Renovation Fair events. She presented a lecture titled «Timeless Style, Modern Living”​at the 2013 Building Renovation Fair and «Kitchen Remodeling for Vintage Homes”​as part of Historic Seattle’s 2014 Preserving Your Old House series.

Carol has served several positions for the American Institute of Architects, including Associate Director, Government Affairs Committee Chair, and Associate’s Forum Committee Chair for the AIA Colorado South chapter and Custom Residential Architect’s Network Chair for AIA Seattle.
