Tried something different. I had the pupusas, which were very good. They were made to order. Since they were made to order, it did take awhile to get my order. I would recommend ordering in advance if you are picking up your food.

Pupusas are $ 1 everyday. They will have special dinner for Thanksgiving and Christmas Gallinas Guisada and Tamales.

I really love it here. From other restaurant experiences, this one was the fastest when ordering and actually receiving your pupusas. The fact that you check in on Unilocal and get one free pupusa is always awesome lol
Small but very cute and clean. The owner is very nice and the people there always remember us even though we don’t go as often.
Minimum $ 10 before yo can use your debit or credit card FYI!
Kind of hard to find so keep your eyes peeled and be careful because people speed through that small street quickly.

I just tried this amazing restaurant called Las Champas # 10 in South Gate this evening. It was awesome. I started with a fruit drink called Ensalada of fruits, which was so tasty. The fruit just had a burst of flavor. Then I tried appetizer called Garnachas Beef. This consist of a mixture of beef on a little tortilla chip with cheese. This was delicious with a lot of flavor as well. I was served a cup of chicken soup with cilantro, avocado, and chicken. This was really good and hit the spot. Another appetizer dish was called Papitas. This consisted of some tortillas chips with black beans, cilantro, tomato, and a cream sauce. Yummy in my tummy. The dessert was very delicious called Empanada –Banana. This delectable dish was like a little doughnut with sugar and a banana in the middle. Melted in my mouth. This was just a taste of the appetizers. I can’t wait the try the entrée’s at this spot. I highly recommend this restaurant. I’m going to bring my friends here. Very friendly environment. They have big screen TV’s to watch sports. Awesome service. The waitress were so nice. Had the pleasure to meet the owners of the restaurant who are genuine and friendly people. I will become a regular customer for sure here. Love the food at this amazing El Salvadorian restaurant.

These pupusas are the real deal! I was very hesitant to try them because I was skeptical of the 1 dollar price tag. Once we did it became our local pupusa spot! Maybe they are a bit small. I don’t see much of a difference but people claim they are. On top of the fact that they have super inexpensive pupusa they offer a pupusa free if you check in with Unilocal!If you’re in the area it’s a must try! Oh and don’t be afraid to order too many they taste just as good if you microwave them the next day as long as you have a decent microwave.

They do take time take to make since they’re fresh and homemade. So if ur in a rush might want to consider calling ahead.

I went to this place because it has good reviews on Unilocal.But I was not impressed the pupusas have no stuff inside I didn’t taste any chicharon it was mostly cheese and it wasn’t that much. The yuca frita was good they put a lot chicharon. I also got the pasteles de platanitos they were super expensive $ 7 for the order of 4. But again their pupusas have not taste and have not meat.

You can easily miss this place since it’s almost hidden away from sight, so keep your eyes peeled.
I’ve tried this place about three times now and it’s been fairly consistent in taste. The pupusas are considerably small compared to other ones I’ve had lately, but at a $ 1 a piece they portioned well. They also offer a few varieties which is rarely the case when they’re offered that cheap.
The restaurant is small and can easily become cramped with just a few people. So when we order from there we take the food to go. Should you choose to eat in, the staff seems really warm and welcoming.
This is a no frills type of place. You get what you come for and the staff does their best to accommodate. When the budget is a little short, their pupusas are an excellent option.

I’ve gone to this place many times, and have never been disappointed. I always get takeout, and they are so quick. A few times I’ve even walked in while it’s karaōke night, it seems it’s a big hit there, it gets packed but the energy is lively. I have only ever ordered pupusas revueltas and platanos fritos con frijol y crema. And NEVER have they disappointed.
I am a HUGE fan of pupusas, and I crave them at least once a month. When I crave them I always make sure to get some for my family as well, because I can’t be selfish. lol So any other place would tell me it’s about an hour to and hour and 20 minutes for 30 pupusas. But Las Champas always has my order within 20 – 30 minutes. Yes the $ 1 pupusas are small, but guess what they’re a dollar! If you have never tried to make pupusas you don’t know how much time goes into it. This is a damn skill, people! I tried and I was exhausted, and I kinda cheated using a tortilla presser to make them rounder lol.
The service is also very awesome! It seems like it is a family owned business. The people are really sweet, and if they take a little longer they always make up for it with an extra something in your bag, empanada, bread, pupusa, extra curtido or salsa, etc. I’ve made my family and friends fans as well.

Overpriced! First off the pupusas they advertise are so small for $ 1. You have to order like 4 – 5 to eat good. To be honest not even worth it. Second, I had a hair in my cabbage you put on top of the pupusas. They didn’t even offer me a free one, just a replacement. Canned sodas cost $ 1.50 wth? 16oz cup of watered down horchata costs $ 3. The place could use a renovation. All in all, bad experience, wouldn’t recommend this hole in the wall to anyone.

Food was lacking flavor, the carne asada plate was plain not salsa and really slow bad service is overpriced I order a pupusa and never received it lame I wanted to make it my go to place on Sundays

Best mojarra I’ve had in years. I’ve been eating mojarra frita from another place near this one for years now and I’ve just met their competition. It was perfect and I didn’t order a frita one I got a la plancha… A huge recommendation. Ask for camarones a la diabla on the side… They’re perfec. Not to spicy, explosion of flavors and a decent amount if you ask me. My God. It was just so good. Even the salad and vegetables were delicious. I usually leave those behind but since they tasted so well I cleaned my entire plate. Mmmmm. Also a must have is their $ 1 mini pupusas. They’re so delicious.
If you’re in the mood for a freshly cooked meal come try them out. Horchata is perfect by the way.

Great food and great service! The pupusas are only a dollar and they taste delicious. The guy who served us was so attentive and gave us great service. Highly recommend. Good quality food at affordable prices.

Just driving by and saw a sign of $ 1 pupusas so I immediately stopped and tried their food. And it was amazing!!! Ate so much I had food coma lol. The server’s name was Kevin. He was so welcoming and kept checking on us, he provided us with excellent and QUALITY customer service. Definitely worth a try if you’re ever in the mood for bomb pupusas.

Just driving around and I found this amazing place. $ 1 pupusas everyday!!! And might I add, they were delicious. Excellent and friendly services. Great music as well

Awesome food great customer service really attentive and everything was really quick!

As we were driving down Atlantic Blvd last night, we thought chances for Pupusas were slim considering it was 9 PM. We drove past this place and surely enough, they were open! Usually, Pupuserias close early so we were happy to see that they were open so late on a Friday night!
Now my only concern was how the food was going to hold up. We ordered Pupusas Revueltas (Cheese, friend beans, and Chicharron) and they were great! The Horchata Salvadoreña was ok, nothing too special. I’ve definitely had better, but it was still great!
The waitress who attended us was nothing short of amazing! She constantly came to see how we were doing and made sure we were satisfied with our dining experience for the night.
Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for some authentic Salvadoran food. I myself am Salvadoran, so I can vouch for the Pupusas here.
