my mtn bike has a internal tube to slide the brake cables through. It was very hard to put it in so i assumed it was because of rust and took the bike to this shop to help me with it. They told me they would do everything they can to make it work, so i left my bike for them to work for about an hour or two. I come back and get charged 20 bucks to put a brake cable in my bike frame… and worse they didnt even put the cable through the brake lever forcing me to have to pull out the cable and risk it not going inside again. I actually managed to put the cable through the frame by twisting the cables *facepalm*… never go here. 10 dollars or under would have been reasonable but 20! regret it

So I brought my hybrid in for a basic tune up and to check the rear tire because it keeps going flat on me. The mechanic replaced the tube and said he couldn’t find anything else wrong with the tire. The grand total was $ 30. Not bad at all. Friendly guys. No frills bike shop. I like it.

Probably the worst and most distrustful bicycle shop around. I only can here because I had to disassemble my bicycle to get it powder coated to the perfect color as a gift. They were the closest bicycle shop.
When I got there they charged me 35 dollars to disassemble my bike. Keep in mind, this bike is fresh out if the box, so the only thing that needs to be disassembled is the read tire, pedals, forks. I told them my situation about how this was a gift and I wanted to disassemble it for paint. The young guy working there says that they have a company they go to for powder coating for about $ 80, but he’ll confirm the price with me later. Thinking that it’ll save me time, and in the end money, I agree to leave my bike (on a Wednesday). At first they seemed on top of it, I told him earlier I wanted an off-​white cream color and he had sent me emails of different colors. I chose the perfect color. This is where it gets interesting.
After confirming a color he quoted me $ 200 dollars for the work! Very different from the «about 80» he had said earlier. He told me it was because they had to reassemble the bike. Again, only the forks, pedals, and rear tire. I told him just paint the bike, and not to bother assembling the bike. Which cost me $ 100. Which means it’s $ 100 to assemble a bike… He tells me the bike will be ready by Monday, but he says it might even be done Sunday. (it’s Wednesday when I drop it off).
I tell him great and I’ll see him then. Since I didn’t get a call Sunday I assumed it’ll be ready the next day. It’s Monday afternoon and I still don’t get a call so I call them to ask them about the status of my bike. He tells him THEY BARELY TOOK IN THE BIKE THAT DAY (Monday)! He tells me it’ll be ready the next day so I oblige. Next day no call, so I call. «Sorry it’s not ready, it’ll be done tomorrow». I’m heated. I tell him that they’re dropping the ball and his excuse was that IM NOT THEIR ONLY CUSTOMER!!!
Fast forward to the next day when they tell me my bike is ready in the morning. I told him I wouldn’t be able to pick it up until the afternoon. Finally, I’m on my way to pick it up, when I get a text saying, «pick it up tomorrow, we’re closing early». I tell him on my way, and he says he’ll be there.
I get there and check out the bike. ITS UGLY! This thing is pure white, no clear coat, spots are missed. On top of that, They returned my chain, and other parts and I notice my pedals are missing! They tell me I it wasn’t on the bike.
Since my schedule was right that day I didn’t have the time to dispute it, and planned to call them the next day.
The next day I called and told them that I will give them the rest of the bike, if they bought me the same bike in it’s original color. They told me they’ll talk to the manager, I haven’t gotten a hold of them since…
The bike was a beautiful single speed retrospec bike, that they ruined. Couldn’t even give to the person I wanted to as a gift.
Wish I could give them negative stars.

This is a very good bike shop with good prices. The bike mechanics that work there do very good work. I went In for a tune up on one of my bikes and they even put new wiring on my bike. Very satisfied with their work.

At first glance this place is a cross between a hoarder and a bum shack. Bikes hanging randomly, parts scattered everywhere, and just a downright grimey place. But since this place was the only small mom and pop bike shop around (I like to support local bike shops), I decided to bring in my road bike for a quick tune up. Prices were reasonable and the place was convenient. I was impressed with the work and thought I found my go to spot for my cycling needs.
Fast forward a couple of weeks and I’m in the neighborhood with a semi flat tire. I decide to go in for some air and ask one of the younger Hispanic worker for help. He looks at me and tells me that its a dollar charge. At this point I was a bit shocked that people actually charge for small services. I ask the usual older bike mechanic if is was a real policy. He assures me that everyone gets the same treatment, explaining that it takes time from the workers productivity to pump people’s tires. Complete and utter bull, at that point I just hand him the wheel to pump and gave them the dollar. Way to lose a customer over pinching every dollar and dime from someone.
I can’t believe that this business is still open when the workers care more about money than helping another cyclist. With the review above me, I can imagine how frustrating his experience was. I would stay away from this place if you don’t want to be treated like a dollar sign. Instead there’s another bike shop further down Garvey, near El Monte.
