History
Established in 2000.
Laura Sabini created GroovyBabyMusic, to combine her love of children with her passion for music. She started out performing her jazzy original kid’s songs, and teaching in local preschools, and soon became certified in the renowned, research-based teaching method Music Together. GroovyBabyMusic was a hit with parents and children like and class offerings quickly expanded from Cambridge, and Brookline, to Boston, Charlestown, Somerville, and Southie. Now the scope widens beyond Music Together as GroovyBabyMusic offers other research-based methods for children up to 9 years old including Canta Y Baila Conmigo (music & movement in Spanish), Rhythm Kids (interactive drumming), and Radiant Child Yoga (intro to Yoga). GroovyBabyMusic continues to expand as we design music and movement programming for local preschools, and entertainment packages for children’s birthday parties. GroovyBabyMusic continues their commitment to offering the highest quality music and movement programs to kids!
Meet the Business Owner
Laura S.
Business Owner
Laura Sabini grew up in a musical family where parties became jam sessions. She sang many types of music such as gospel, classical, a cappella and jazz. A graduate of Trinity College in Psychology, she focused on counseling children working at local hospitals and preschools. While living in Italy Laura continued to sing jazz, and work with children, always using music as an educational tool. Upon returning to USA, Laura created Groovy Baby Music, combining her love of children with her passion for music. She trained with the Center for Music and Young Children and began teaching Music Together® in Cambridge and Brookline. Over the past 15 years, she continues to train new teachers, explore new programs and find new locations. After focusing on Directing the school and opening the first GroovyBabyMusic HQ in Dorchester, Laura is back in the classroom again… never losing sight of what drove her to open in the first place, the joy of seeing children discover how fun music-making can be!
