Very sad… WWBW has gone down significantly in customer service and qualified customer representatives. It seems product knowledge experts no longer work in the call center. I’ve been a band director for over 20 years and have used WWBW the whole time (and experienced the decline).
I am in the market for a tuba. I called WWBW to make some initial inquires and to set up a time to come try out some instruments. Well, sorry to say WWBW no longer has a store. 100% online. I asked how I could play an instrument before I bought it and was told I had to buy it first and if I didn’t like it, I could return it. Really? Spend $ 10−20K to try out a horn? What if I want to try out two different horns… you see where I’m heading.
I said I am willing to fly out to CA if I need to (just a call center in IN now), and was told there is no way for me to try out a product with them before I purchase it! Guess I’ll be heading to see Vince in NC this summer, I’ll have to find out what he has around other than the St. Petes.

I have purchase a clarinet care kit threw amazon however they shipped two. Woodwind makes the return cost more than the product value what makes it unreasonable to return and there… I’m stuck with an item i didn’t order, i don’t need. how sophisticate is that!!! you’ll never see your money back from this company.

It’s difficult to imagine another shop in the Midwest with a similar stock of instruments. Just inside the door were three string basses, and a roomful of violins. Further in, large glass display cases housed about fifteen tubas. Taking a 360-​degree view of the store, I’d say that whether you’re looking for instruments for marching band or garage band, you’ll find a great selection here to occupy your shopping attention for as long as you have the energy.
21-​year old son and I made an overnight trip here to try out trumpets. He reserved a practice room in a hallway of rooms like you’d find in most college music departments. Every make and model (except one limited edition) that he wanted to try was in stock, brought to the room, and left to compare and contrast. We spent a couple hours, never felt rushed, and had all the attention we needed from Jason. When the selection was made, the price was not only well below retail, but also about 20% less than the best web price. Even with motel and gasoline to/​from St. Louis, we saved money. Plus, we sampled more trumpets at one sitting than you’ll find in any other retail store we know.

This is a very disreputable company. I purchased a keyboard and power adapter from them at a good sale price. I had many vendor choices available to choose from, all at the same sale price. I choose this company because their website seemed nice and quite frankly, it was the first to appear in my internet search results. I should have read the reviews already posted to the internet first. They gladly took my order and immediately sent out and billed me for the adapter. The keyboard was on back order. A couple days after billing me for the adapter, they CANCELLED my order for the keyboard without ANY explanation. When I called them, they told me the unit was no longer in production. This was a blatant lie. First, an item no longer being in production doesn’t mean that it drops off the face of the earth the next day. It would take considerable time for the the already manufactured supply to be exhausted. Second, this same unit is still available elsewhere on the internet (I guess they didn’t get the memo that it isn’t in production anymore). The only thing is, it is now being sold at $ 50 or more elsewhere. The sales are now over. This company CLEARLY decided that they could sell the unit I purchased for much more than they contracted with me to sell it for. Then they even tried to get me to buy something else that was more expensive from them. ARE THEY KIDDING??? Now I am stuck with an useless adapter that I had to pay for. What frauds they are! Beware when dealing with them… go elswehere…
AS AN UPDATE… the product they told me is no longer available (that’s why they had to cancel my order) is now again listed on their website as available soon… but now for $ 30 more than what they agreed to sell it to me for. DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE???
