What a nightmare. Full of the worst ND students, piss poor service and your are likely to see two neanderthals drunkenly fight about who has the bigger junk. If you are 18 – 25 and love sportsball more than life itself, or if you are older and reliving your lame existence as a college student because it was ashamedly the best time in your life, this bar is for you.

I like Corby’s for all different occasions. It has like 4 different bars in one, with an outdoors, quiet room where you can talk, pizza room, and dancing/bar room. The pizza is great, the tap selection is good, and I think the crowd is diverse. Drinks here are not the cheapest in South Bend, but they have decent specials.

Way crowded, way overpriced, and a great place to meet 21 year olds, if that is the level you are working at. Domer central. I wont be back.

I normally enjoy going to Corby’s. However, the cook who is a little overweight, decided while he was trying to find the kitchen that it was a good idea to shove me out of the way. Although it was very crowded I was trying to find my way way out of the bar. He proceeded to get in my face so I asked to be kicked out of the bar. Good thing, because that guy ate a woman and nobody even noticed. I hope he finds his way and the bar regains their edible inventory.

The pizza is amazing! Too bad we live so far away, but if we ever make it back this way we will stop by again!

Check out this old historic neighborhood corner bar! I heard this is usually a ND student bar, but when I went school was out for the summer. My friends and I met up here after a conference and had a great time. Prices were extremely competitive and beer selection was surprising. Staff was friendly and worked hard. An in house pizza kitchen makes a real nice, old school pie. You can really feel the history in this place; tin ceilings, vintage Fighting Irish murals, hard wood floors, and beer coolers that date back from God knows when. They don’t make places like this any more. I’ll be back.

As someone allergic to smoke, I had to avoid all of the dive bars in South Bend when I lived there. Now, more and more are going smoke free, so when I was in town visiting family and hanging out with friends in town, we decided to give it a go. I was looking forward to having an option where the drinks would cost less than $ 9 per. The music was too loud for conversation and the DJ was pretty awful. With no drink menu, I figured opting for something I can drink straight was the best decision. They had Rumchata, so I got some on the rocks. Can’t screw that up. I live in Chicago now, and I sometimes get that here. It’s usually $ 6 – 7. I think I may have paid $ 9 for it once. These were in higher quality places in Chicago, rather than a dive in South Bend. So I was very surprised when the charge was $ 10. Also, my friend was drinking miller light, the second of which exploded all over our table when she opened it up. Security did bring a towel, but there were no apologies made, and she was still charged for the drink. I probably won’t be back. I think they get away with subpar service just because of their reputation as a Notre Dame bar.

Nice little corner pub. Fills up the ND students late night. Great pizza and grinders. Sixteen beers on tap. Three Floyd has 3 of the tap. Locals on my left and right bellied up to the bar were cool to talk to. If I had attended ND as a student this would have been my Muglys at BSU. That dating me a bit. Cool place.

Good pizza and the bar itself is a staple in South Bend. The service lately from a couple of the bartenders could use a little improvement. I’d prefer to hear some music playing without having to throw my money into the juke box. Affordable drinks, great location, and a good mix of locals and students depending on the time of year.

I hadn’t been to Corbys since 2009 before this past weekend(November, 2013). While I was always a big fan, they have made great strides since my last visit. We were there on a football weekend and when I walked in on a Friday night two things immediately stood out…1. No cover charge, and no smoking. Wonderful. They now serve food, and made it look much cleaner/brighter. Prices are still cheap.2.50 pounder cans of Miller Lite for example and the servers are still friendly. Was pretty empty until midnight when it got PACKED! I will continue to stop in Corbys during my Notre Dame visits. Mixed crowd, everyone is friendly, and cheap prices. Go Irish!

Corby’s is wonderful! Feels like home; great staff, great drinks and amazing pizza! The outdoor space is great for the summer and the bar is big so there is room for small or large groups. Love it here!

This is a nice authentic, family owned, Notre Dame bar. Made famous for its role in the movie Rudy, this place is fun to hang out at and enjoy some delicious made in house from scratch pizza. You can watch them make it in their open kitchen if you want, it’s actually a fun show and the pizza makers are very friendly and fun to chat up while they make your pizzas. You can order a specialty pizza, or get it by the slice at night. Drinks are reasonably priced and there is a fun energetic atmosphere at night. I recommend checking out this place if you are in the area.

I’m the first to admit that I was skeptical when I heard that Corby’s was adding a pizza kitchen, but the added bonus of going smoke-free was an incentive to check it out. A group of us were there for the smoke-free kick off and decided to check out the food as well. The menu is small to start and features homemade pizza and a couple of sandwiches, including a meatball sub. We ordered a large pizza, which was huge, with sausage and black olives. The crust was thin and perfectly crisp, topped with homemade sauce and an impressive homemade sausage that had a nice little kick. Another in the group ordered the meatball sub, which was huge! Homemade meatballs topped with the homemade sauce and cheese then backed in the pizza oven. Definitely worth checking out!

3 dollar 16 oz domestic can beers now. How can you beat that. Well they just did, they finally opened up their kitchen. Pizza’s are damn good, but their Italian sausage pizza is phenomenal. The crowd is back and that’s a welcome site as well.

the official bar of the ROMP — my cohort at notre dame in the MNA program. spacious, good beer prices(not so much hard booze), 3 sets of cornhole boards, and a really nice, revamped kitchen. corby’s is a great bar with good service. and the best spot in town for you and 28 friends.

Corby’s is a mixed bag, and for its unreliability, I can only give two stars. Also, I had a jacket stolen there. And more than one guy has looked at my, um, you know, while I was peeing. Yes, they have several pool tables, and a patio that they try to call a «beer garden». But how much pool can you play when it’s crowded, and how much of the year is warm enough that I WANT to be outside, at night, drinking cold beer? Also, on certain nights they charge cover. On occasion, they have live music, but that’s pretty sporadic. The best part of Corby’s is leaving. Not just to get out of that unfortunate hellhole of «we wish we could back up the hype», but because of the FOOD being SLOW-COOKED and SMOKED on the SIDEWALK! WOOOOOO!!! But after all that ranting, Corby’s is a good place during the summer months to have a quiet pint, maybe meet some new folks, and make use of that patio.

Only made one visit here, but it seemed the prototypical college bar. Enormous pitchers of beer at dangerously low prices. Co-eds and their callers abound. I recall a few pool tables as well. This isn’t necessarily a good thing. I’ve come to associate pool tables with violence. Know what I mean? Some guy with a five-foot stick gets flustered while he’s setting up an important shot, and the rest is history. And never, ever, is there a pool table with wide enough boundaries to prevent these kind of coma-inducing incidents from happening. Such is the nature of the game.
