History

Established in 2002.

AlphaGraphics opened in 2002 on Main Street in downtown South Bend, Indiana. The heart of the city made for a compelling place to do business with great opportunity. The 4500 square foot space allows for high visibility of our facility and capabilities along with convenient access for walk-​in customers. Our equipment can be seen running daily through the floor to ceiling windows on the front of the building. Whether it is our Heidleburg offset press, bindery or mailing services, the hustle and bustle of activity within AlphaGraphics can be seen by those passing by. Digital color and black and white printing is done within this location as well.

With a successful business built in South Bend, Pat Welch opened a second location in Elkhart, Indiana, five years later to focus on an up-​and-​coming portion of the print industry. AlphaGraphics Elkhart’s 3000 square foot shop is dedicated primarily to large format printing. With two large format color printers — the HP 8000, HP 5500 and Mimak

Meet the Business Owner

Pat W.

Business Owner

Pat is a 25 year veteran of the printing industry. A graduate of Indiana University, he entered the folding carton business with a focus on offset and web printing for the medical and consumer products industry. In 2002, Pat opened AlphaGraphics in South Bend, Indiana. Then expanded with another location in Elkhart, Indiana, in 2007 with a focus on large format printing.

Pat has been involved with the Elkhart United Way Campaign, served as President of the Montessori School of Elkhart, St. Mary’s Parish Council, President of Elcona Country Club and is a member of the Rotary Club of South Bend. His interests include golf, fishing, theatre, music and travel. Pat has two daughters whom can occasionally be seen behind the front desk of either AlphaGraphics!
