Uh oh! Get your wallet ready! excessive charges for even the simplest repair or service. How about $ 180 to free up the rods that control the sewer? with a shot of BLASTER !! I was advised to do that myself, but thought it might be more complicated. NOPE. all it took was a shot of blaster. But at Fretz that’s an hour labor. a normal mechanic would say, never mind, no charge. MY MISTAKE.
PS — the refrigerator is not working. When I called the service manager, he said, maybe you’re out of propane. Isn’t that nice? Well, for one thing, that’s part of professional service to make sure. 2. It’s a rude comment, lady. 3. The propane tank is nearly full.
PPS — non-​delivery of a brand new RT!! sitting in the lot for weeks, not prepped, while the new owner is on pins and needles waiting eagerly for the gift of a lifetime. Rude? Inconsiderate? Incompetent ?
my friend just purchased a new RT from you. She has informed us that it’s been sitting on the lot for 2 weeks. And it is still not ready for her. She started driving to Fretz. about 100 miles into her trip, and suddenly got a call that it’s not ready?!
Okay. You got the sale. Right? Then what?!
Can you imagine? You’ve made a lifetime decision, plunked down $ 100 grand, can’t wait till you get your new baby, your dream RV, your friends are going with you. and you’re even on your way! How inconsiderate!
PPS — Mr Fretz, another of our friends in the RT club just walked in and bought a 2016-​190.
Word gets around quickly, doesn’t it. ?!

Working with Fretz RV was a real pleasure, from the RV Show at Harrisburg, where we put our down-​payment in, to delivery. Especially noteworthy was the extra effort that Brian, in the Business Office made, to get absolutely all of the paperwork done well in advance, for my out-​of-​state credit union and insurance company.
The ONLY negative was the rushed PDI. We only had about 90 minutes to learn everything. The person giving the PDI even said that the purpose was to give the buyer enough info to get the unit home. Anything else we could read-​up on. This Fifth Wheel is FAR to complicated a piece of equipment for that, and frankly, since the JAYCO manual is too generically directed, it’s useless in figuring the trailer out.
Fortunately, I’ve been able to ask questions, and get answers from the fellow Jayco owners on the Jayco Owners Forum. Without them, I’d be lost!

Mr. Fretz,
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my review. I totally understand that from a businesses perspective that no dealer can hold a price for a customer for an unlimited time. That was not my request. I apologize about any miscommunication but that was not my issue or reason for writing about my dissatisfied experience at your dealership. I will attempt to clerify the issues for you and other customers.
My concern was that I did not feel that Al (your sales rep) and others on your team were being honest and upfront with me through the sales experience.
Here are some examples about my concerns. We agreed to a price. I was honest about when I was looking to take delivery of the unit (several weeks out). I told Al (the sales rep) that I would need to think about our negotiated price. I was not not made aware of a deadline or Jayco incentive. Al called me nearly every day to get my deposit as any good sales rep would do. He made no mention about a concern about a price change due to an expiring Jayco incentive.
The day after our negotiations Al informed me that you (the owner) did not like the deal. From a business perspective this should be concerning to you that your sales team is making potential deals that may not be authorized by you? This is a huge waste of your resources (employee compensation/​time) and of the customers time. That issue got resolved but from a customer persecutive it was red flag number one.
My second concern was when your sales rep (Al) informed me that the price of the unit that we had agreed to had changed due to a «$ 1000 Jacyo incentive that had expired». This only came up when I asked for a written transparent breakdown of the deal. I have communicated with several other Jayco dealers in your region and none are aware of a recent $ 1,000 incentive? From a consumer perspective something did not feel right again considering feedback from other high volume Jayco dealers. This was red flag number two.
During my experience with your dealership your finance team attempted to give me an interest rate over one and a half percent higher then all other dealerships were offering tier one credit customers (812). This issue was corrected after I confronted the issue but I do not believe that customers in this situation should have to go through this hassle. This was red flag number 3. The inconsistencies and high pressure tactics resulted in me purchasing my unit from another dealer.
Again, I hope this clarifies my concerns to you and all other perspective customers. I would never expect anyone to hold a price for a customer.
I do expect transparency with agreements, deadlines (if appropriate) and a pleasurable buying experience. Unfortunately this did not happen at your dealership. I see that several other folks have experienced a similar experience based on the reviews.
I think that you have a beautiful showroom, a great selection of units, and the pricing that we discussed was very reasonable. Hopefully the issues that I addressed will be taken seriously and will be rectified.

As a two time Jayco and Fretz Customer, had the worst experience and attitude from the sales management ever!!! Will never deal with Fretz again.
This is the second bad experience we had with them. Last year we tried to purchase our third Jayco there and made all the arrangements with the sales department to come pick up a new unit. Travelled all the way down with our Jayco expecting to trade, and no one told us the unit was completely torn apart trying to fix a water leak. There we sat, and the sales management would not even take anything off the price if we would have taken the water soaked unit once they fixed it!!! Kind of like here it is take it or leave it. We left it and Purchased a Shadow Cruiser.
Missing the Jayco product we gave them another shot and what a mistake that was trying to work with them!!!

We ended up with a very nice Roadtrek Agile at a good price, but it was not a pleasant experience.
Unfortunately the Fretz sales person I dealt with (Al Papa) would tell me just about anything I wanted to hear, then not follow through on it. Among other things, he told me the oil would be changed by the local Mercedes dealer, he told me they would change the generator oil, he told me they would check/​change the transmission fluid, he told me the van was all ready for pickup with all detailing done and the bathroom door rattle fixed. None of these turned out to be true. When asked, he went so far as to tell me that the transmission was sealed, and the fluid did not need to be checked or changed! The oil was changed, but by the dealership, with the wrong oil, and they put and extra ½ quart in so that on our way home the oil light came on — just what you want after you spent that kind of money on an RV!
On the bright side, they worked hard to get the van 100% ready once we arrived to pick it up (thanks to Dave and another very helpful gentleman). They also compensated us for the failure to change the generator oil. In addition, they offered to come out and drain the extra oil as we sat at a truck stop wondering if we had just made a huge mistake, and they paid for a new oil change at our local MB dealer. They even offered to refund our money and come and pick up the RV if that was what we wanted. By this point, we were dealing with Eric Fasci, the GM, who made every effort to make sure we were satisfied, and apologized for the mix-​ups and the behavior of the salesperson (Al Papa).
I don’t know that I will ever deal with Fretz RV again, but in the end I felt that they were an honest dealership with some issues. So if you are thinking of buying there, beware, and, of course, get EVERYTHING in writing, down to the last detail, or you may be disappointed.

In response to Steve Fretz’s list of excuses.
A. When I shopped for the Serenity there were five listed on the website. Four were presold. They all have stock numbers, so when I left a deposit on a specific vehicle, it was not a vehicle that wasn’t available when I left the deposit. And anyone in business knows that a deposit is made to create a legally binding contract between buyer and seller.
The simple fact is you sold a vehicle that you later realized you didn’t want to sell.
B. You sold me a vehicle with an acknowledged defective part, which should have been replaced ASAP. Not only did you not notify me when the part came in, you never notified me of the status of the RV for the length of time it was in your shop (or, more accurately, sitting in the lot untouched.
C. I did inform both the sales department and service that the vehicle was not completely winterized. Because the replacement of the defective part required operating the plumbing to ensure correct operation.
D. When I left the RV off at your shop, I photographed the odometer, with the suspicion that since I had purchased your only Serenity, you might use it for demonstrations while in your shop. When I picked it up, I again photographed the odometer, which had 100 more miles on it. The Mercedes dealer it was taken to for a wheel balance was 15 miles away. That leaves 70 unaccounted for miles. Even with a test drive to confirm the wheel balance issue, that is far more than should have been put on. I think my suspicions were confirmed.
Yet instead of any apology for this disgraceful treatment, you choose to only offer excuses. None of which are at all valid.
If I could give 0 stars as a rating, I would. I only hope before shopping at Fretz, others will read this review, so when they get mistreated, they will have been warned. And although mine may be the only review on Unilocal,I have read others from other sources (like Google) from people who have had similar substandard treatment, both in sales and service.
Fretz has a nice selection of boots and western wear, but avoid their RV business at all costs. I have contacted Leisure Travel (manufacturer of the Serenity) and they have advised me I can take my vehicle to another vendor for warranty service, so you will not likely see me again. Any offer by me to show my RV to a perspective buyer while you are without one in stock is rescinded.

I wouldn’t normally write a review for an RV dealership but this was such an awesome group of people that I felt I had to give the proper credit. I buy a new car every year and have never had even close to this kind of experience at a new or used car dealer.
I went to several area dealerships looking for a deal on a new RV, wasn’t really sure exactly what I wanted (or needed). The staff at Fretz was was very accommodating and knowledgeable without pressuring me at all. It was such a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, it really felt like a family owned place (which I understand it actually is). I dealt with Mike Myers through the whole process, and he was great. There wasn’t an question he couldn’t get me an answer for, even when I was comparing to other brands and models I had seen in other places. In the end, I wanted to buy from Fretz RV, and after meeting with their F&I guy, they put together an amazing package for me. I thought I’d be looking another couple of months and wouldn’t actually purchase till the spring time at the earliest but they presented me with something that was literally something I couldn’t walk away from. I set-​up an appointment to have a hitch installed a week later and now I’ve got a great RV to go hit the national parks with this summer!
If you’re even considering any form of RV, you have to stop in and talk to the staff here. The indoor showroom has a pretty varied selection so don’t let the bad weather put you off, it’s a really comfortable showroom to spend a few hours in just browsing!

Went here for cowboy boots and they have a nice selection very nice people working there. Just expected more of a selection.
