Scottrade Inc.

I was in Scott trade in Soquel today and have to say Wayne Koh was ANYTHING but informative, helpful, and certainly NOT courteous, He didnt introduce himself, left me hanging and instead started out by telling me they only see people on appointment. I objected, I was there to fund my ROTH IRA. He pressured me to give him an investment amount so I said «a grand» just to say something. He told me nobody but Scott trade would open an account for me! He yakked on about trading fees and how nobody is gonna give me advice at that level and how he owns a 12 year old hyundai and then shot out «how do you feel about mutual funds?». I didnt even know what to say,

I am extremely disappointed in the customer service with Scottrade. I opened my ROTH IRA at this branch in Soquel and things were going great until I attempted to make a withdrawl.
Due to an address snafu that came from another branch entering the withdrawl before I changed my address online, my distribution check was being mailed to an old address. I called to find out where the check was going and ended up being connected to the Soquel branch, which I thought would be fine since that’s where I opened the account.
A man named Bill answered (by the end of our conversation I was so frustrated that I can’t remember his last name now), and said that although my home branch is now elsewhere, he «guessed» that he could help me. I made it clear multiple times that I just wanted to know where the check was being sent due to the address mix up, but apparently I was not clear enough. He kept cutting me off and asking «so what do you want?» in a condescending tone.
Eventually he said he couldn’t help me and transferred me to my new local branch. Thank goodness I was connected to someone with more customer service skills and they are resolving the issue.
I understand that different branches have different access to accounts (which is perfectly fine), but the manner in which this gentleman spoke to me over the phone was unacceptable. I also work in the financial industry and this behavior would never be deemed appropriate. As soon as I get things straightened out, I will be closing my accounts and taking my funds elsewhere.

I would like to give a glowing recommendation for the Scottrade in Soquel! I love working with these guys. Wayne Koh in particular is informative, helpful, courteous, and extremly patient with my myriad of questions. They make setting up, and managing, my account easy and painless!
