We drove all the way over here from corralitos to enjoy lunch, only to find that they were CLOSED! «New winter hours» means they are now closed on Sunday’s FYI for all people considering coming here. If you change your hours, you should change them on Unilocal

Waited 1 hour for 2 average panini’s. The place needs to be cleaned! Zoccoli’s in downtown SC is a much better spot: better location, better food, and better quality and speed of service. I do not recommend at all.

One of the better deli’s in all of Santa Cruz county. Line can be maddeningly slow at times… not sure if people are just unable to make a decision, or if the staff delights in making us all wait for it to be our turn. Once the food does get made… it is terrific. Good selection of cold drinks, and a terrific sandwich.

Came in here yesterday with a group of about 9, wanting to order sandwiches. The woman behind the counter rolled her eyes and made several rude comments as we were looking at the menu. She very rudely told us they«we don’t have no salads!» We left and another member of staff commented sarcastically under his breath«better luck elsewhere!» So we did find much better luck just down the street at Beer Thirty and the wine/meat/cheese/bbq place next to it. I feel bad for the absentee owner of this place that his staff are a bunch of b****es.

Such killer breakfast burritos. The veggie one is packed. Gino, the owner, is such a cool guy and keeps a great business. He has his sandwiches down as well. It’s tucked away, but has parking right off of Porter. A must stop

This place is really good — high quality ingredients, friendly people, fair prices. I had one of the(several) veggie sandwiches for a change, and have found that I keep fantasizing about going back for another — it was that good. My dining partner had a plate of spaghetti with marinara and a side salad for $ 5. Are you kidding me? We will definitely be back — this is a hidden gem.

Quick service, great food, super affordable… what’s not to love? Had a cup of minestrone soup today, vegetables and noodles weren’t overcooked. Very tasty! Had a hot sandwich last time, and I enjoyed it to the very last bite. Hidden little gem :)

You need to know there’s parking in a lot that is on a back street. The«specials» board,(that NEVER changes so why is it called the specials board) is super hard to read. Teeny tiny writing. The sandwiches were nothing much, and the place is pretty run down. Power wash your outside chairs for crying out loud. I thought it was funny how the other poster called this place«rustic», haha. No, it is dirty.

I really like their surfin’ bird sandwich and other menu items. I would definitely say it is more«all-American» than Italian gourmet. What I don’t like is the fact that on a few occasions I have come there 10 – 15 minutes before closing and have been sent away because they were«pretty much closed.» Not a great business model but I am still a customer. If they had a gate separating their outside eating area from the busy street I would bring my kids because it gets great sun.

This design of this place is kinda rustic. I went here around 11 am on a Tuesday and it was empty. I ordered the chicken and mozzarella panini to go. Overall, the sandwich is good and the portion is fair. I would recommend it if you are in the area and wanna grab a sandwich or panini.

Fun, funky little sandwich shop! They’ve got great sandwiches and really friendly service. It looks a little rough around the edges which gives it that old school deli feel. And prices are reasonable too!

We found this deli on Unilocal as we were heading to the airport. The sandwiches were terrific.

I came here after reading good reviews and had a craving for a fresh healthy salad. I ordered the Japanese salad, which was like $ 7 and it was the worst salad I’ve paid so much for. Literally it was white cabbage, peanuts, top ramen noodles, dressing(which was good) and a slice of dry bread. I was starving so I ate it but now I realized I should have taken it back instead of feel yucky afterwards. Honestly that salad probably cost them $.50 to make and it was totally white, no nutritional value :( On the other hand my husband had their surfin bird sandwich and he really liked it, but hey this is my review not his

This place is THEBEST! But if you order wrong you might be disappointed. They roast all their turkey and chicken daily, paninis are great but my favorite items are the Cobb salad which is just loaded for the price. and the lasagna which tastes better than moms. The meat ball is always a safe bet. Get yourself some Mariannes ice cream after and you’re set.

Solid 4 stars here. I usually get their Surfin Bird sandwich which is pretty darn tasty. They use real chicken that’s cut off from a chicken breast instead of processed chicken that most delis have. Everything tastes really fresh and is reasonably priced. This place is kinda tucked away so I think a lot of people don’t know it’s there, so you can get in and out with your order pretty quickly. The only downside I can see is the dine in option. I’d much prefer to do take out because their indoor chairs are not comfy and their décor needs a bit of updating. No complaints otherwise.

Always fresh and consistent… By far my staple sandwich shops in town. Everything on the menu is good. Their Cobb salad is super tasty as well as their minestrone!

Please do yourself a favor a get a pastrami sandwich. It’s packed with flavor and tastes great with sour dough bread. The owner is a very kind person. I will be there again next time I’m in Santa Cruz.

Thanks to the high Unilocal ratings, we tried this fabulous deli after my daughter’s soccer game. The sandwiches were amazing! The meat was cut fresh. The bread was so fresh. The mayo-mustard that they put on the sandwich was delicious! This was an awesome find! Too bad we live almost an hour and a half away. Again, another review I wrote in 9⁄2012 — basing on that date.

My first visit and I had a veggie sandwich. I don’t eat meat, so trying to find good veggie sandwiches at a reasonable price is not easy. Oh my goodness! Fantastic! For a veggie sandwich it was fulfilling! Just packed with loads of yumminess. I didn’t hold anything, every veggie they put on the sandwich was perfect! And they don’t charge extra for having avocado on it! It cost me $ 5.25(: I’ll definitely be returning to try other options on their menu!!!

Worth the wait, we ordered 8 sandwiches and they were happy to help! Very cheap prices for delicious sandwiches, very generous with their portions and a gourmet taste for deli price!
