I wanted to try to replace my oven hinges myself, but couldn’t figure out how to remove the door. The parts store tried to help, but recommended Robert if I needed a repairman, even advising waiting as long as necessary to get him. I called Robert and he told me for free how to do the repair myself, saving me a bundle! He was so obviously knowledgeable that he could tell me step by step what to do, without even seeing my oven. I think I’ll send him a small «consulting fee», even though he didn’t ask for one!

Robert is skilled and honest. And he had milk bones in his pocket to treat the dogs.

Robert is the best. Bar none. He knows his circuits, he knows appliances inside out.

Robert is great! Our dryer had not been drying very well, an ongoing problem. He came out and spent 2 hours cleaning it and figuring out where our vent exited. We live in a townhome and it runs a convoluted path to the roof. After much investigation he figured out that the roof vent caps are the wrong type. We had new roofs put on in 2007 and they put on the wrong type of exhaust vents so they are prone to plug up. We walked around the complex and he used binoculars to check out the vents and said he could see the lint sticking out. This is huge fire hazard. His whole investigative process is impressive. He also gave us some suggestions for a short term fix and on top of that he charged us very little. I said the bill seemed low and he told me «he felt bad that he could not fix it for us.» What a guy! We are so happy to add him to our tried-​and-​true contractor list. Highly recommended, he knows his stuff, and is just a great guy.

Robert went out of his way to help me diagnose a problem that I was having with my washing machine. Robert accurately pinpointed the cause of the problem. He is a kind and talented person that I would trust to service any of my appliances. Thank you Robert!

What a wonderful thing to find a reliable, professional, and friendly local business! We’ve previously had really bad luck trying to service our major appliances, having dealt with an extended warranty that offered no local service people, a frightening experience with a repairman who seemed to have Tourette’s (or at least could not work without constant cursing under his breath), and marginal quality service from a big name chain.
Coastal Appliance did an awesome job recently servicing our washer and dryer. Arrived on time; clean, friendly and professional. They had all the parts ready for both the repair and a last minute door switch I requested for our drier. Total cost was lower than the estimate, and a LOT lower than what others quoted. We were left with perfectly working equipment, cleaned inside and out, and the number of a good business to call when we need further repairs.
Santa Cruz locals: look no further. Coastal Appliance Service is all that and more… a great local shop to get your home back up and running.

I called on Monday to make an appointment for my dishwasher. Before any other question I made sure that they come to Boulder Creek which they confirmed. They scheduled for Friday morning. On Thursday around 4 PM they called to tell me that they CANCELLED the appointment because they don’t come to Boulder Creek. The person who called claimed that whoever made the appointment was not aware of their policies. So I wasted 3 days waiting for a service that they never meant to deliver.
As far as I’m concerned this shows a total lack of responsibility and respect for customers.
1. Made an appointment which they cancelled the very last minute without a serious excuse. Any half decent business owner would have honored this obligation, since it was their mistake.
2. Allow untrained people to answer the phone; if they don’t come to BC then anyone who answers the phone should know that.
3. They are obviously too lazy to come to BC which is not that far from Soquel. Plenty of people commute from BC to Santa Cruz, Watsonville, San Jose, etc. without complaining.
I am sorry to give them even one star, it’s a lot more than they deserve.

Robert is very good. Fair appraisal, reasonable response.

I highly recommend Robert and his company. He was efficient, thorough, and honest. I was very worried about being overcharged because I am «absentee landlord» and have experienced that before, but his fees were honest and reasonable.

Robert is an appliance genius! He had the broken washer apart in minutes, fixed it promptly, gave lots of useful advice on keeping it going, pricing is reasonable, I highly highly recommend! Was here right on the button too.

God bless reputable repair men /​companies. My husband and I thought we were going to get taken for a ride with a huge estimate to fix both our washer and dryer. TOTALLY not the case. We were so desperate to get our machines fixed that we thought it be worth a gamble to see what came out of calling an appliance service company. I’m so glad we we called!!! Once again, Robert came through to help us with our appliance needs. He is so good at what he does, I trust him totally. We had a very difficult garbage disposal problem. He was sent the wrong disposal. He gave us the option of waiting or trying to re plumb. We waited and he was sure to keep us updated on when the part would be in. When he came to put it in, he knew just what to do. So nice to have an expert… who is friendly and honest. He could have charged more for his extra time but gave us a break. Thanks Robert, you are the BEST.

Robert is one of the most professional, fair service repairmen I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He fixed our old stove and washer efficiently at a very fair price. He also saved us about $ 300…I am so glad I didn’t go with Appliance Service Center.

Robert is prompt, courteuus and professional. He will not do a big repair just to get some work. Told us it would be better to buy a new dryer, then arranged for us to get one wholesale. He charged a small fee (40.00) for a service call. He would rather be honest than a rip off!

Did I mention having just a tiny wait time, although he would have gladly called to give me a pin point time to expect him. How those clowns down the street– Appliance Service for shit-​Center can stay around is just a mystery to me.
