I’ve been working with Caroline since 2003 — first with watercolors and now acrylics. She is amazing! What is most impressive is her ability to cater to the different needs of a variety of students — from children to adults, beginners who have never picked up even a pencil, to strong artists seeking to hone in specific skills. And in any medium too. In our class at Harvey Milk the students are at various levels, yet she manages to get to each of us and urge us along with solutions and suggestions. But best of all, she is simply hilarious. Why pay for a comedy show when you can come to Caroline’s classes? And priced right, too — its like a private lesson for the cost of a goup class.

I haven’t taken art lessons with Caroline(yet) but I’ve been an enthusiastic fan of her painting for some years now. Her work is always exciting for me to see, with a rare and thrilling sense of color and composition. I especially love her portraits and the gorgeous series she’s been painting recently inspired by the show«Mad Men.»

What first drew my attention was Caroline’s wonderful series of portraits; ‘Gone Daddy Gone’. Interested in portraits myself, I was enthralled with her choice of subjects(William F Buckley et tu), the composition of topics and her choice of color. It was around the time that I was planning to get back to painting and was looking for a coach. It could not have worked out better!!! Caroline has helped me become a much better artist, with a enhanced appreciation for color and the courage to experiment. In this course, I now rent my own studio at Art Explosion and work on my own series of paintings. As much as I believe that I have evolved as an artist, I still need Caroline’s help and keen eye to analyze and coach me along the way. I expect to gain from her coaching for a long time to come. I strongly recommend Caroline’s ‘Painting on the Right Side of the Brain’ course for anyone… literally anyone.

Caroline Wampole is an amazing artist, and, more importantly to this student, and excellent art teacher. I have taken private lessons from her and I am currently taking her«Painting on the Right Side of the Brain» class held at the rennovated Harvey Milk Center on Scott/Duboce in San Francisco. I have not painted in years but since taking the private classes in December and the current class, I have finished 3 paintings and each one shows improvement. I have worked with Caroline for many years, but then she up and moved to France to further her artistic study. Now she is back so we can all benefit from her artistic growth. Her teaching style is free flowing, informative, humorous and you get to jump into painting right away… and, because the class size is small, each student gets a lot of one on one instruction and assistance. She is also available for private workshops or commissions. Most people feel self conscious that they ‘can’t paint’ or draw, etc. but Caroline puts everyone at ease immediately. We are all artists and with a little prodding from Caroline, you can discover your muse and create. You can check out some of her students work on my personal blog:
