We love Sharon! She took care of our group of 5 completely! She even made the recommendations for wineries we visited and the variety was fantastic. It was such a balanced selection and we enjoyed everything from the popular Gloria Ferrer, to the quiet Anaba patio, to our private tasting at Amapola. This service is phenomenal and affordable. I plan to use her again for sure!

If i could give them more stars I would. We have had Colleen drive us the last few years of our Sonoma vacation’s. Colleen is very safe, she keeps the group on track, reminds us that it’s lunch time and get’s the group to the scheduled private tastings on time. Colleen always has fantastic recommendations for off the beaten path wineries and ensures an overall great wine tasting experience.

My husband and I had a fantastic time with Sharon as our driver/​guide/​lunch buddy/​etc. We have been on winery tours in other areas of the country, but this was our first experience in the Sonoma Valley area. She crafted a wonderful and flexible schedule based on the types of wine and the experiences we were looking for. We were able to hit 6 locations. We started out the day at Robert Hunter for a scheduled tasting, which included a really relaxed wine tasting out on the patio with a beautiful view after a tour of the grounds. Then we were able to get an appointment at Amapola Creek Winery, which was a lovely experience. We were there as the Zinfandel grapes were being brought in to be crushed. The next stop was VJB for a glass of wine and some lunch out on the patio. Then a quick walk over to En Garde… and then on to B Wise. Both tasting rooms are very nice with great staff to chat with. Annie at B Wise seems have her own local legend, since everywhere else we went asked if she was there during our visit. And then we ended the day at Pangloss. So we really got a wide variety of experiences at each location and it gave us a wonderful sense of what Sonoma Valley has to offer. And we never felt rushed to move on to the next location. We moved at a very leisurely pace and Sharon adjusted as needed. I would highly recommend using Valet of the Moon when visiting Sonoma Valley.

I returned to the Napa/​Sonoma area again this August after visiting in August 2013. I had Sharon, the mom, last time as my driver and gave her very high marks. We had the pleasure of having Colleen as our driver this time (Sharon’s daughter) and had another extraordinary experience over our two day stay. Sharon helped plan our tours a few months in advance and her recommendations were perfect. As she noted, there are so many good wineries in the valley that we should not repeat any from our first trip (except for the one to which I had a membership, Chandon). She was so right as this year’s trip was even better than last year’s based on her recommendations. Both Sharon and Colleen are consummate professionals (as well as being a lot of fun and entertaining!) Both are great conversationalists and provide you with a good background of the region. They even recommended great lunch and dinner establishments. They both know the area well. If you are considering a wine tour, LOOK NO FURTHER THAN THIS OUTSTANDING MOTHER-​DAUGHTER TEAM! You will not be disappointed. Just look at all the reviews that are similar to mine. If you see an occasional disgruntled reviewer, check to see how many reviews and/​or helpful votes this individual has per TripAdvisor and weigh that opinion against the overwhelming outstanding ones on this site. You will miss one of the best opportunities in the Napa/​Sonoma valley if you do not take this tour!

Sharon at Valet of the Moon was absolutely amazing. My sister and I wanted to do something special for my parents’ 40^th anniversary as we were visiting Sonoma Valley during the week of their anniversary, and thought having a driver for a day to visit wineries would be nice. At the time, my sister was thinking of bringing her 6 month old on the trip (although ultimately she and her husband decided that they needed a true vacation and left my neice at home with the inlaws), and we had contacted another service who refused to accomodate us. We found Sharon on Unilocal and she was completely open and understanding of our need. We chose to use her services to help us find some amazing wineries and to drive us so no one had to drive for a day. Sharon’s expertise on the wineries and area was top-​notch. The Russian River Valley was perfect for my parents because my father loves Pinot Noir and my mother loves Chardonnay. Sharon was very communicative prior to our visit and not only suggested wineries, but also suggested some other things to do while on our trip.
Both my father and I had been in Sonoma several times in the past, however Sharon ended up taking us to some AMAZING wineries that we would NEVER have found. She was so personable and knowledgable about the area, and was flexible with our day and what we were interested in. Honestly, her service was probably THE best thing that we did during our week stay in Sonoma. My parents couldn’t stop talking about the day we had, and they were staying for another week with their friends to celebrate and stated that they would be taking their friends to the wineries. Sharon emailed a few days after we returned home, and she told me that she saw my parents while taking another client to one of the wineries we loved! We will definitley be looking to book her service when we return again. You will not find a better service like Sharon’s. Do yourself a favor, and book Valet of the Moon RIGHT NOW!

We decided to go with Valet of the Moon because of all of the positive reviews and because of Sharon’s years of experience with the wine industry both in Napa and Sonoma. Another perk: they drive your personal or your rental car, thus saving you a lot of money.
Sharon listened to what we were looking for in our tour experience. While we live in San Francisco, we’ve only explored Napa and the larger wineries. This time, we wanted to visit Sonoma and visit small, family-​owned wineries that we never heard of. She came back to us with several wineries that fit the bill. We chose to visit five of them.
We found Sharon to be informative, engaging, friendly, and extremely knowledgable about both Napa and Sonoma. We were blown away with the wineries she took us to. We just NEVER would have discovered these on our own! We walked away with many, many bottles of wine.
Having someone who’s familiar with the industry, who can point you towards the lesser known but fantastic vineyards is the way to go. We’re definitely going to go with Valet of the Moon on our next visit to wine country, and we’re excited to visit all the other wineries and regions that Sharon’s familiar with.
The one thing we’d do differently? Visit 4 and not 5 wineries. I ended up getting a bit more tipsy than I wanted to with all the generous pours! :)

Sharon is indescribably marvelous! We made a quick two day stop in Sonoma on our way from San Francisco headed for our honeymoon in Carmel. We fell in love with Sonoma, and then Sharon took our experience to the NEXT level!
We made the plans a couple of months out from arriving, and from the very beginning, Sharon made our experience seamless. We’re from DC so didn’t know anything about California wines or California wine country. Sharon made suggestions not only for which wineries would fit our tastes as far as wine and aesthetics, but also on which county she thought we’d like better (between Sonoma and Napa) and which hotels she thought would fit our style and budget. She basically spent 30 minutes on the phone with me helping me build my travel itinerary before we even booked with her!
That initial conversation was a real indication of what kind of person Sharon was and when we met her, she did NOT disappoint! She drove us around to all of the wineries we chose from her awesome suggestions and made lively and wonderful company for the trip. By the end of our wine tour, it felt like we were old friends — and not just because I had been drinking all afternoon!
Neither my husband nor I can say enough about how awesome we think Sharon is –and really I don’t think I can even put it into words. Please trust that I am not exaggerating when I say, she MADE our Sonoma trip. When next we have the absolute pleasure of heading out to Northern California again, a call to Sharon to book another tour (maybe this time Napa) will be the FIRST thing I do!

What can I say, BEST DAY EVER!!! Me and two girlfriends headed to Russian River valley for a few days of fun. We already rented a car, so it was great that they would use our car and save us some money. Colleen knew exactly where to take us and we had such a good time. I highly recommend their services and will never do the wine country without them! Thanks again and can’t wait to plan another trip.

This is a great way to visit alot of wineries. My friends and I hired them in Sonoma and the driver was fun and knowledgable.

I went to Napa valley with two of my friends for my birthday. Sharon, our diver, and I started corresponding a full three weeks before the outing to coordinate the visit. After we’d spoken several times, my initial tour schedule completely changed because of her recommendations. I’ve been to many of the commercial wineries, some of which are must-​see wineries, but I wanted to visit less known places and places with scenic views. She recommended about six places, and I whittled them down to three places.
Although we only contracted her for a day, she give me great tips on other places to visit by ourselves the following day. She also told me where to order sandwiches for lunch before our day excursion so that we wouldn’t go wine tasting with an empty stomach.
I ordered the sandwiches a day in advance, and picked them up right before our tour began. Sharon arrived at the hotel and took us on our tour to visit two wineries up in Mount Howell and the other in Coombsville. I got just what I wanted. Small wineries with limited production, great Cabs and private tours for the three of us. What more can you ask for?
Sharon was punctual, informative, flexible with the schedule, friendly and never got lost. As I said, what more can you ask for? I would highly recommend. She’s not just a driver. She’s a repository of knowledge of wine country and a very nice person. Too bad she books up quick…

Sharon was a wonderful guide. You would expect a driver to be there to drive you around but Sharon was a friend who shared her extensive expertise and helped us plan which wineries to visit. On the day of, we were late and Sharon was incredibly understanding. Towards the end of the day we changed plans and ran late 2 hours which she did not mind at all. She also brought us water because she knew how dehydrated we would be! And she did this all with a smile. I would recommend Sharon any day.

I heard about Sharon through another tour driver who was booked the second day we wanted to go touring. Sharon was actually also booked this day, but she told me her daughter was also very familiar (having grown up in) Sonoma, so we went with her, Colleen.
Colleen was WONDERFUL. She was so sweet and knew sooooo much about Sonoma. Sharon initially set up everything with me online– she recommended the BEST options (Benziger tour, visit Loxton, Robert Hunter Garden Tour, Friday night shindig at Sebastiani), and then Colleen took it from there. She was totally punctual, and just the sweetest person. She just knew exactly what to recommend when I had a couple options I was thinking of, and even at some point, at the end, when we were thinking of just one more winery, but weren’t sure which, she told me that one of the wineries had more expensive bottles (80 and up) whereas the other also had more affordable ones. I thought this was brilliant because I was not looking to spend that much, so it made it such an easy decision!
She also recommended and brought us to this Olive Oil & Vinegar place, which was amazing!!! I hadn’t even heard of this place, so it was really appreciated that she told us about it.
I just cannot recommend Colleen enough. We actually bumped into Sharon while we were out, and she was SO sweet, too. Sharon & Colleen run an amazing service!
(PS– it’s also noteworthy that she is incredibly responsive via email (I didn’t try by phone) — always appreciated!)

My husband and I, along with a couple of friends, took a Napa/​Sonoma vacation in June 2011. During our time in Sonoma, we connected with Sharon from Valet of the Moon Tours and had a great experience.
She met us at our B&B – right on time – and was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable about the Sonoma area. She was very accommodating when we discussed our favorite wines and places we hoped to visit during the day. In addition to taking us to the places we requested, she managed to squeeze in several off-​the-​beaten-​path gems that really made the day memorable. (Small Vines was our favorite – definitely worth a stop.)
Also, she took us to a sandwich shop that we really liked, I wish I could remember the name. (I blame the tastings.) Regardless, Sharon is definitely a guide that cares about her passengers and makes sure that everyone leaves Sonoma with terrific memories.

I’m so glad I found Sharon. She took us to wineries we never would have found or known about on our own. We visited a wide range of wineries in a very short time frame and got to see a small «mom and pop» operation where actually did the tasting with the mom and pop. We also visited larger commercial vineyards/​tastings with established tasting counters and some where my wife and I sat down with a single person to taste the releases. It was truly a wonderful experience and I was introduced to so many new wines.
Vale of the Moon is worth every penny. There is no way an outsider could find and get to all the wineries we did. It’s the best bang for the buck. We were on a very limited schedule, but she made the most of it.
