Sonoma Segway

We had an amazing time touring the wineries on bikes with Emily:) we will recommend to all our friends for sure! Not a hard bike ride for those who might be intimidated by the idea. It’s a great way to visit the area and try some wine and cheese!

We did the 5 hour bike tour with Hunt, and it was the best way to tour Sonoma especially if its your 1^st time. Hunt seemed heavily connected with the community, and was able to get us the best seat and tour of the wineries. He was very accommodating in what we wanted to see, and scheduled according to our needs. I recommend it to everyone, and planning on taking more out of town friends on the tour.

A great winery tour on bikes. Hunt was able to create a delightful trip for us even though it rained that day. I would highly recommend his company. He worked with us and our biking ability to create a perfect day.

We had an awesome time for my friends relaxing bachlorette weekend. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone, you definitely have to try it.
Hunt is a great tour guide and very knowledgeable about the area and wine, etc. He makes sure your comfortable on the segway (which doesnt take long) before the tour starts and ensures your safetly along the way. He also took extra time with our tour group and showed us areas of the wineries that most people don’t see.
I plan on bringing my family next time.

Our little group of 60-​something ladies all loved the Segway tour of Sonoma’s back roads and oldest wineries. Yuni and Hunt are wonderful hosts and so helpful with our last minute changes. It was a great day!

We had a fabulous time with Hunt and our Segways tour of Sonoma. We tried some unique places, seen, tasted, and smelled some great wines & vineyards! Hunt’s tour with the 4 of us (and only us – it was great!) was just outstanding. It was our best experience in Sonoma wine country! Hunt was knowledgeable, fun, accommodating, and safe. We took a group bicycle wine tasting tour this weekend and had a BLAST! The ride was beautiful with just a couple mild inclines, we had van support for anyone who wanted to take a break, our tours of the wineries were delicious, educational and fun. Hunt and Yuni were friendly and fun. We all felt like kids again. This was our favorite activity of our Napa weekend. Super duper fun!

If you’re not going to be spending a lot of time in Sonoma, then this is definitely a must. Hunt is very knowledgeable about the history of Sonoma and wine & cheese making. He’s truly the best tour guide!

We had an AMAZING Segway tour with Hunt yesterday! He was so
fun and amiable. Very knowledgable about wine making and the history of Sonoma. He took us to two beautiful wineries and a local cheese shop. He knew everyone everywhere and the wineries let him give us a tour of their private wine making spaces. We rode for miles along beautiful streets with unbelievable scenic views. He genuinely cares about meeting the interests of tourists and will customize the tour for you. We felt very relaxed and not rushed the entire time; it by far surpasses the experience you would have with a typical tourist money hungry business. Also the cheese tasting and tour at the end was awesome (YUM!!) We could not be happier with our experience. Thank you, Hunt!

What a fun experience! I was in Sonoma for a girls weekend with some family and I’m so glad we decided to do this tour. Hunt made the entire experience fun and memorable.
We all swore that we would never look at a Segway as dorky again.
He taught us all how to ride and I felt that he taught us very well. He was funny, personable, and knowledgeable. He was also flexible when the group decided that we would rather do more riding than wine tasting. Though I have to say, the first tasting was really cool. He took us to a few historical sites and to the Cheese Factory, all of which he had extensive knowledge on.
The only thing that my sister would say is, «I wanted to go faster!» :)
We had so much fun, I would recommend this to anyone. I want to do it again!

Did not rent from these guys, but I had to drop some positive feedback for the nuggets of wisdom Hunt shared while he was cruising by us, as we were both leaving Buena Vista winery.

I was very impressed with the positive attitude and great information he shared with us. Unsolicited and very friendly. My fellow Unilocalers may think what’s Tap yapping about, but customer service has suffered so much lately, with society’s «What are you doing for me?» attitude; it was refreshing to have a guy roll by and give us some GREAT local knowledge and be very friendly.
We are a bike riding group, but next trip to Sonoma we will be renting Segway’s because of Hunt’s great personality and awesome information that made our Sonoma experience that much more memorable!

The Tour is preceded by an insightful safety and operational training session for Segway first-​time users. We were quickly at ease with the devices and soon began enjoying the exhilarating ride. Our guide, Hunt, was ever vigilant for safety on the few occasions we shared the route with others. The occasional bump in the road while just «standing there» provides a unique sensation. Going up and down gentle grades is a (safe) ride not to be missed.
Hunt entertained us with regional and state history that surprised even us «locals»! He unveiled fascinating backgrounds of each winery and the cheese factory before and during each tour. The sites we visited were staffed with friendly, knowledgeable personnel. At age 65, I found the entire experience new and exciting and look forward to introducing all my friends to the experience. That way, of course, I can go again!

I was surprised at how much work goes into manipulating a Segway. Riders always looked so dorky to me in the past, but I have a newfound appreciation for the art of Segway-​wrangling. Hunt (our guide) was extremely patient as he taught my parents, sister, and I to roll forward, back, and sideways without crashing. I had such a great time being a dork and waving at all of the locals.
The tour lasted 5 hours altogether. We went to 2 wineries and Vella Cheese. Hunt personalized our tour to our unique interests and knew the answers to all of our questions (unlike some tours we have been on in NorCal). The cheese tasting was the best. Hunt has an inside connection, so we got to see the back areas where the cheese is made and aged. He was also great at posing the four of us in memorable places to take photos — much better than trying to take pictures from a Segway.
The only warning I will give is that Segway riding can be hard on your back. You have to bend your knees over every bump and ripple in the pavement or a painful jolt will shoot up your spine. Also, there are limited places to sit during the tour. It is definitely doable, but you should schedule time for a rest afterwards — don’t count on charging ahead to the next activity immediately.

My wife and I wanted to take a guided tour at some point whIle in Sonoma and luckily the first place we checked on was full. So we ended up taking this tour with Hunt and it was a blast! Got a chance to see a lot of cool things up close and learned a lot about wine country AND the town, which was great. Really glad we did this!

Riding nerdy! I booked a tour for a group of seven friends for my husband’s birthday last weekend. Hunt and Yuni were super helpful while working with me to organize my large group. They even rented an extra Segway to accommodate us (they only had 6 available). Our guide, Gerardo, was friendly, funny and very informative. I was born and raised in Sonoma, but I still learned new facts about the town’s history from him!
Learning to ride the Segway was a little scary for me, but I got the hang of it within 5 minutes. My sense of balance was definitely thrown off at first, but by the end of the tour the Segway felt like a natural extension of my body. Everyone else had an easy time riding, and dare I say, tested the limits a bit (thanks Gerardo for putting up with our silly group!).
We were able to go to two wineries on this tour, Buena Vista and Bartholomew. Gerardo gave us two for one tasting coupons for Buena Vista, which was awesome. Wine is always great, but the cheese tasting at Vella’s was the highlight of the trip for me. You get a full tour of the cheese making process in a facility where everything is done by hand. The cheese platters we had were amazingly delicious. I ended up purchasing Toma, Dry Jack and a Smoky Bleu. So good! Nothing like rolling around Sonoma on a gorgeous summer day with a slight buzz and a belly full of cheese!
To sum up the experience, yes, you will feel like an absolute dork while riding a Segway. Yes, the locals will stop and stare, wave, and laugh while you go by but the tour is so much fun, none of this will bother you. Our group actually felt like we were spreading cheer throughout Sonoma because everyone was getting such a kick of seeing us ride by. Next time you’re thinking about going wine tasting in Sonoma, do it on a Segway!

FUN, FUN, and MORE FUN! Our Guide Herardo was very cool and a walking encyclopedia of Sonoma wine history. Our first stop was the Buena Vista Winery. The girl serving us in the tasting room was really cool and did a great job of making us feel welcome. Our second stop was the Barthalomew Park Winery. The grounds were beautiful and our picnic lunch was great. The wine was just ok and the woman in the tasting room wasn’t as good at her job as the girl at Buena Vista, but it didn’t kill the good time we were having, so no big deal.
If you want to try something different and super fun, this is the wine tour for you!

Hate to admit it, but we had to try it. We felt like H U G E dorks but laughed our asses off. I wanted to go faster but they kind of control the group a little too much. Anyway, you will feel like the future, the past, and the present all at once on these weird pogo sticks with motors.
I’d never do it again, but wth, it was worth feeling like some kind of strange moon creature for a couple of hours.
