History

Established in 1993.

Founded in 1993, Sculptural gates LLC is located in Sonoma California. We started in our garage, and soon purchased and outfitted our first facility. We collected the tools, knowledge and craftsmen to provide world class ironwork and automation. A family business started by Ken Martini, and now owned and operated by his son, Donovan Martini, Sculptural Gates LLC services Sonoma, Napa, Marin, San Francisco, and Contra Costa Counties.

Integrity. This is my highest ideal. Today, it all seems to be about the quick buck. What can we outsource, how can we maximize our profit? I’m in this business to make a life for me and my family, but to do so fairly, always considering my clients first. I want to be known as someone who my clients, employees, and vendors like and trust. I bring over twenty years of metal fabrication and manufacturing skills to every job, and stand behind my work as few do these days.

If I could give no stars, I would.6 weeks ago we called mr martini to repair our gate. He said easy fix, should take no more than 3 – 4 days to get the part. He rarely answered his phone or returned calls, lied about when he would come repair the gate and ultimately never did! I don’t know how any business can operate this way.!! Don’t use them!!!

I posted a review on June 24 regarding a collision with my keypad. Mr. Martini called today (July 2) to explain he had been on vacation, thought that repair had been taken care of earlier. He apologized and today the keypad was repaired. The incident still raises issues regarding management of employees, follow-​up, and the honesty of the driver, but we are satisfied with the resolution and repairs.

This is a follow-​up to my earlier review, and one year since Donovan, owner of Sculptural Gates, installed our driveway gate. Came time for us to lube the bolts and make sure everything was in working order (note that we have not had a single day of problem since installation). We emailed Donovan to make sure we understood the process. He responded immediately with an amazingly detailed description of how we should proceed, including images of the hinges/​bolts, complete with arrows and directions. What customer service! We can’t say enough about what a professional Donovan is, and what an amazing command of his business, the electronics, the mechanical requirements and the follow-​up he provides. He could easily have charged us for a home visit to take care of the annual maintenance. Instead, he got us involved in the process and made sure we knew what steps to take. If you or someone you know needs a gate, this is the company and the man with whom to work. Thank you, Donovan, for making this so easy for us and making sure we got it right!

I’m a contractor who likes to do things myself and do them well, but finishing the installation of our own automatic gate was beyond me. I called Sculptural Gates to see if they could help with the finish wiring and their attitude was absolutely positive. Donovan was very understanding and assured me they knew our system (Viking/​DoorKing) and would pick up the pieces. Adam, the installer, came out, was polite, well informed, knew exactly what needed to be done and got it done in short order (we were paying them on an hourly basis). He anticipated several things I had not and made sure it all worked right the first time. He cleaned up his work site too!
I am really happy to know a firm that we can call on when we have gate issues!

Sculptural installed our gate approximately 5 years ago. The gate has performed perfectly. Their customer service is fantastic. Donavan came to our house on a Friday afternoon to do a «reset». I wanted Donovan to check for damage done to the gate by Fed Ex when they threw a large package over the gate which interfered with the gate opening properly. Donavan made the drive from Sonoma to San Rafael.
Sculptural makes a superior product and they follow up with great customer service.

We live in Napa and needed a gate for our home/​estate. I had seen a gate I liked but needed something with the same general feel that worked for our space. After a few months of back and forth and my comparing prices from a number of gate makers, we decided to have Donovan make our gate. It turned out STUNNING! Not only did he build the gate but also installed the solar power for the operations. Donovan was incredibly professional. He drew the gate design in CAD (he has a great eye for detail and design and helped my husband and I work through our differences) and delivered a gate more beautiful then we even expected. I couldn’t recommend Donovan and Sculptural Gates any higher.
