We called Virginia from Nanny On Call at the last moment. Renee was available and came to babysit my 4.5 years old while we were at a company event in St Helena. Renee was amazing! I expected her to come with a small activity bag (other nannies we hired had something like that). She came in with a bag on wheel full of toys — trains, legos, coloring sheets, etc. You could imagine my son. Renee is very caring and you can tell how experienced she is. As a parent, I felt safe to leave my son with Renee and relieved to see him so happy to be with Renee when we said goodbye. He had a wonderful time with her. When we came back, he ran to me and said that he wanted to go to her house and he was so sad when she had to leave. I would highly recommend Nanny on Call and in particular Renee.

I called Virginia at the last minute to help me out during my daughter’s wedding celebration. My mother, who has Alzheimer’s, was having a bad day, and I knew that she would not do well during all the festivities. I called last minute, and Virginia set me up with Joan, who was an absolute perfect angel for my mom. She came two different times, and frankly, I don’t know how I would have managed without Joan. I would recommend Nanny on Call, anytime, for any caregiver needs. Start to finish, excellent! Carol Sliva

I feel I must review this service. I do not want people to not use this service but rather hope this service becomes better by leaving this review in public. I contacted Virginia Friday, it took three phone calls and two emails to finally get ahold of her. This should not be the case in any business. It took 5 days for her to get in touch and find me a nanny. If you feel this is acceptable great! But as a mother I want to leave my child with someone’s who’s prompt and cares. I was recommended this service but I will not be doing the same. We found a better nanny service to fit our needs.

We had a great experience with Virginia and nanny Renee. Virginia was very responsive and helpful during the arrangement process and I felt very confident that she would find a good match for our ten month old daughter. Renee was on time for a full day and our daughter, who is going through a bout of stranger danger, took to Renee immediately. We were impressed with her kind demeanor and ability to make our daughter feel comfortable and have fun. We would use Nanny on Call again in a heartbeat. Next time we’re in the area we know who we’ll be calling!

We had a great experience with this service. Our sitter Caryl was a dream. She immediately put me at ease. I was so nervous about leaving my baby with someone we had never met! But my daughter clearly took to her right away. Caryl was easygoing and flexible. Highly recommend.

Every town and area should have a Nanny on Call service as efficient, as reliable and as high caliber as this service, but that’s not possible because there’s only one Virginia and she’s in the Sonoma and Napa area, so if you ever need a sitter while in the area, do get in touch with her; you will be pleased and amazed at the quality of service and the excellence of her staff of sitters. I would give Virginia, and Renee (the gentle and creative nanny who watched our grandchildren), 10 stars if that were a category.

We had a great young lady named Emma who sat for our son twice on our vacation. Our 10 yr old son loved her. She played games such as madlib and Pokemon as well as going to the pool. She was nice, on time and gave us great comfort while we toured wine country. Thank you.

We used Nanny On Call for a dinner out in Napa right after New Years. From start to finish the experience was positive and wonderful.
To begin with, Virginia was responsive over email and phone, and eased all my fears. She put me in touch with our wonderful nanny, Renee, who spoke to me at length over the phone to help me get comfortable. Virginia even provided me with a reference for Renee and background check information. I’d never left my son with a babysitter through a nanny service or a hotel, and was extremely nervous, but Virginia and Renee did everything they could to make the experience as comfortable as possible up front.
I also cannot say enough great things about Renee. She arrived 10 minutes early with a bag of toys and by the time we left, my son was so engrossed in playing with her that he barely looked up to say goodbye. She sent frequent text updates (at my request) and by the time we got home, my son was fed, bathed, and ready for bed, but still so happily playing with her, that he barely looked up when we walked in. We had a wonderful night out, and he had a wonderful night in!
I cannot recommend Nanny on Call (and Renee) highly enough!

We used Nanny On Call this weekend for our three month old daughter while in Napa for a holiday party. Virginia was very responsive over email and our sitter, Cyndi, was great. This was the first time we’d left our daughter, which was nerve-​wracking even though we were right downstairs, but Cyndi put us at ease. We checked on her once during the party and all was well and our little one was sleeping soundly when we returned at the end of the night. I would highly recommend this service and will definitely use it in the future if the need arises.

I used Nanny On Call while in Sonoma for a wedding. I reached out to a couple of agencies and Virginia was the only one who responded in a timely manner. She continued to be responsive and very helpful. Her sitter was fantastic. I generally don’t leave my 18 mo old with sitters but this sitter came over with a suitcase of toys (phew! because we were from out of town and didn’t have any with us), a very gentle manner, and lots of experience. So it was super easy to leave my daughter with her. I would definitely use Virginia and Nanny on Call again!

We have been using Nanny on Call for over 10 years. We have only had the best caregivers for our 4 children over this time. They are very experienced with all ages of children. They are responsible as well as being warm and fun with the kids. They bring their own bag of art supplies and games for the kids which my kids love because it is new and different. I have called and had good luck with getting last minute sitters as well. I know when I book a sitter that they will be experienced with kids, responsible, on time, and fun for the kids. I highly recommend this nanny service.
