Description

Specialties

Meadowcroft Wines specializes in hand crafted, European style wines, produced from small family owned vineyards within Sonoma and Napa County. We feature a selection of local Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Riesling and more.

History

Established in 1999.

In 2008 Tom Meadowcroft’s Mt. Veeder Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was voted one of the top 100 wines by Wine Enthusiast, but prior to making wine, Tom worked for Buckland Vineyard Management in the Napa Valley, where he managed vineyards for Opus One, Duckhorn and Cakebread to name a few.

During this time at Buckland, Tom’s passion for wine continued to grow and in 1999 he purchased a small vineyard on Mt. Veeder. After careful consideration for just the right spot, Tom opened his tasting room, Meadowcroft Wines at CornerStone Gardens in February 2010 where he features 20 different wines under 4 labels.

His labels include Thomas Henry, Meadowcroft, which is a reserve label, Magito and Foyt Family, which is made by Tom for the family of A.J. Foyt, the only 4 time Indianapolis 500 winner. The staff at Meadowcroft Wines is unlike any other, and is always on hand to provide an exceptional wine country experience.

Meet the Business Owner

Tom M.

Business Owner

Tom began his career in wine by picking apples in Bordeaux. At 19, he showed up in Bordeaux in August, when all of France was on holiday. This didn’t deter Tom, who headed for the apple orchards until everyone returned from holiday and he could get into the vineyards.

Coming back to the states for his formal education, it wasn’t long before Tom joined Buckland Vineyard Management. Here’s where we do some name dropping. Tom developed vineyards for Cakebread, Duckhorn, Opus One, Mondavi, Stags Leap, just to name a few. Needless to say, with Tom’s vineyard experience, he believes it all starts with the dirt.

In 1999 Tom bought his Mt. Veeder property and had to totally rework the vineyard. He pulled up every vine and started over with new Cabernet vines. The first vintage to come off of Mt. Veeder was his 2005 Cabernet which garnered a 94 rating in Wine Enthusiast and was name one of the Top 100 wines of the year. And as they say, the rest is history.
