Yummy chips and salsa. We split the fish tacos and they were excellent. Highly recommend a stop in between tastings.

Done. Came in last night to eat. Sat for 10 minutes and didn’t even get aknowledged, not the first time, but i got used to it. 5 people in the place including myself. The food is okay, not great, the prices are a little steep. The convenience of the location is what kept me coming back, plus they are local. But not good enough to put up with the indifference. If attitude and poor service were on the menu, it would get 5 stars.

Stopped by to wait out the traffic. Chips were great. Our food was good. Had a small issue with a side item but it was solved with a smile. They do accept credit cards as of this week.

Hole in the wall, but I heard the food is good. And… It is a hole in the wall. The food took forever to arrive, but it was tasty and spicy as hell, which is what I like. Then at the end of the meal, they pointed to a hidden sign over in the corner that said they only accepted cash… Sigh. I had to take the risky run across Arnold Road in the dark(cue cars at 70 zooming past) to the«convenience» store to get cash back… but I had to buy something. They had the worst selection of. well everything.got a red bull and a lottery ticket… then back across the raceway. It was an adventure, and I don’t need a repeat.

I love this place so much and hope it never changes. Tiny, cozy, casual, nice friendly waitstaff — it feels like you’re hanging out with a good friend’s family — like where the mom is like, «make yourself at home and help yourself to whatever out of the fridge.» Excellent complimentary tortilla chips and piquant, zippy green salsa. We end up ordering more chips and salsa at every visit… honestly, I would buy/consume that salsa by the gallon if I could. They should think about offering salsa growler service. Great, rotating selection of local beers on draft. So far we’ve had grilled fish tacos, tortilla soup, beef super tacos, enchiladas, burrito and all have been delicious — the servings are generous. I’m looking forward to return trips to try all their other menu items. FYI, cash only.

This place is amazing, I’ve been coming here all my life. From fesh chips to unending salas, I love the special enchiladas and Verde burrito. Even though this is a local must it’s also an old school sonoma cult Mexican foodie joint. If you’re new to town, stay away. I want tk keep the quick service and staff who knows us by name.

Amazing food, great staff, but be sure to stop by the ATM on the way! I have the super taco with carne asada– had to eat with a fork until it was down enough to pick up. I love any taco place that melts the cheese between two corn tortillas for a taco. Beef was excellently seasoned and cooked. Other dishes ordered by our group: kids quesadillas, regular tacos with carne asada, chicken burrito, chicken tamales. We all agreed it was the best meal had all week in Sonoma. Highly recommend but remember cash only!

Wonderful mexican restaurant, been coming here since I was a kid! If I had to name one plate you must grab, I’d say either the steak burrito or the chicken enchiladas(The best!). Also one word of advice, bring cash or head across the street to the ATM at the grocery store, they do not take credit cards.

Little place, but the flavor of the food was HUGE! Carne asada burrito was full of flavor and the horchata was delicious. Some of the best tasting Mexican food I have had in a while.

First and last time I will be eating at this restaurant! Food was bad, service was bad, they only take cash, and they nickel and dime you for anything extra.

On a motorcycle adventure we call a(taco run) we set our sights for Juanita Juanita. The tacos we’re prepared as I would expect, soft corn tortilla and delicious meat. I ordered steak and my buddy ordered a myriad of different meats. Both of us found the tacos satisfactory. However their chips are the bomb… Thick crispy and hot, served with really good red salsa full of fresh ingredients. The service here is really great as well, we asked for a refill of chips 3 times and the waitress’s gladly filled them up. Juanita Juanita is definitely a place I will be revisiting.

Some of the best Mexican taco soup I ever had. It was the special of the day an saw someone else having it so I said bring it on. That was as we were having green salsa and homemade chips to die for. The soup came an had to be made to order as it was a huge bowl of just perfectly spiced liquid with chicken an half an avocado floating for extra bling. Very hardy lunch and you will not be disappointed from this funky joint in the middle of wine country. Will be back.

Wow, friendly service and awesome Mexican food! Went to a Christmas party and realized«We haven’t eaten anything!». Now if you have Christmas parties like I do, you’ll need to fuel up for a night of festive excitement. Enter our friend Melissa’s suggestion to try Juanita Juantia. Pinning all of our hopes and dreams on a great night, we got the nacho plate because the waitress /bartender(Kate I think) told us that«it’s huge». She wasn’t lying. Not only was it huge, it was SO tasty. The beans in particular were awesome. Long story short, we were full of joy and ready to party after our pleasant experience at JJ, can I call it that? Look no further, this is your local taqueria for the Sonoma area.

If you’ve never been before, Juanita Juanita is definitely worth checking out. It’s not fine dining, but the ambiance is fun and the food is delicious. Their chips and salsa are the best in town. My tip: try their specials — I recently had the chicken verde enchiladas and they were amazing!

Fun mexican diner. Pinatas on the ceiling, great salsa bar, cash only and always packed! You can’t miss the spray painted lady on the side of the building. Perfect for an end of wine tasting snack or lunch!

Their food is excellent. There are dishes here that you can’t get anywhere else around and they are delicious. That alone warrants 5 stars to me. However they are fairly expensive, and this is not somewhere I would go if I wanted a quick bite, as the service is sometimes slow and usually takes some time to get the main dish.

Absolutely delicious. Our party of 5 ordered 5 different things, and every one of them was great. Seating is a bit scarce at this hole in the wall, but the food is amazing. This isn’t a run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurant serving the same old tired recipes. This stuff is authentic but exciting. I’d suggest some specific items, but it would be pointless. It’s a small menu and all of it’s good. The service is outstanding as well. No overbearing, uncomfortable friendliness – just down to earth friendly people who are good at their jobs.
