I actually like the taste of the Chinese fast food here. The egg foo yung especially. But the older woman who works there or maybe even owns it, is so grouchy and mean every time I go in there. The younger woman is kind and nice and I want to wait until she is available and not get helped by the mean frowning woman who makes me feel so awful after I leave there. Who can run a business like this? Happy Dog has the same problem. I wonder if they are related.

Really known as the chinese fast food of Sonoma, so if you are hungry and looking for a quick and cheap meal, Amy’s is where you go. Quality of the food is not the best, but hey for the price you pay, it’s hard to complain much. Depending on who is serving you, you may get a hefty portion or on the other hand it may feel like you are being cheated. Been coming here for years, since I still find this better than most fast food chinese chains I come across and it is close by for me. If you are looking for higher end asian cuisine, please try many of the other sit down restaurants in town. Also, one extra tip is bring cash as they still do not accept credit cards the last time I was there.

Uggg… well crap. that is seriously disappointing… I have lived in Sonoma for 3 years and there is basically no good asian food. Decent Indian downtown but its the square so its not super easy to grab it and bring home. but I digress… I’ve seen this place a ton of course… I go to that shopping center all the time… it always looked bad but I read some reviews on here cause I’ve been craving chinese and I had to pick up some boots the next day next door. I got a box to go with a couple of chicken dishes… brought it back and it was… just BAD. I actually started feeling sick after making myself eat ¼ of the box cause I had to do lunch before working again… just terrible food… someone compared it to Panda Express… well Panda Express, unfortunately, is 10X better than this… PE is at least edible… oh well. never again… gross and sad. If someone wanted to make a million dollars they would come into sonoma and open a decent asian restaurant. Thai or Chinese… cause there are NONE that are good. ps. its actually NOT that cheap… I tipped a dollar to make it 10 dollars. I had a great lunch in Petaluma today… soup, salad, tea, great main dish and it was $ 7!

Great food. Very filling and quite affordable for the amount of food that they’ll stuff in a To-go box. Very nice and friendly staff. Best Chinese food in Sonoma, in my opinion.

Seriously awful. Mystery meat. Can’t distinguish one dish from another. Gnarly. Hope we don’t get sick. Never again.

Fast food meets Chinese. It’s good if in a hurry and really hungry. Bring cash. this a cash only business.

I go to Amy’s fairly often and am very satisfied every time. The staff is very nice and the layout is simple. It is quick and easy, and has quite a few menu options. This isn’t the place to go if you are looking for a fancy meal, but if you are looking for some tasty Chinese food at a reasonable price, than this is the place to come.

Basic, Americanized Chinese fare, offered buffet style as «fast food.» I like the Hunan wings, but they aren’t enough to pull me in more than a few times a year. The green beans are always crisp and the zucchini is never overcooked. Now if they would add hot and sour soup, we’d be telling a different story. It’s an inconvenience they take cash only. It means you can’t pop in spontaneously, but that’s their choice.

This is a simple and basic American-Asian food place. The three times I have been here, the food has been fresh, hot-right off the stove, and tasty. Each time I have been in, the aroma has pulled me in. Really, try going by there when they first open and the food is cooking up fresh, it is hard to resist. True, it is not gourmet or anything fancy. But for affordable, yummy food, it is pretty good. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and when I go in, I look for what the chef or cook there does best. The fried rice is good. The fresh made chicken dishes are good. The noodle dishes are good. It seems to me that Amy’s specializes in a buffet style. So, all the buffet style places I have ever been to, the one thing that is very important is that customers get there when the food is freshly prepared and served for the lunch time crowds. Go there later on in the day and the food has been on the warming plates for a while. That is why it puzzles me so many reviews complain, when it is just simple food. Get there when the buffet is just serving lunch and food is fresh. And, stay with what the chef does best. For me it is the fried rice. For $ 2.99 you get a lot on your plate, what more can you ask for? When I go back I will try other dishes. Yet I will make sure I am there when lunch begins and food is fresh, not later on in the day. What else can I say? Be thankful Sonoma that you have an affordable Asian-style food place.

I’ve only eaten here once, even though I’ve checked in twice. The first time I checked in I waited a long time in line and then some people walked in and were trying to sneak in line(from the other end of the line). I got annoyed and left prior to getting food. I decided to give it another go. This time when I walked in there was no line. I ordered the two item combo with broccoli beef and garlic chicken with half fried rice and half chow mien. I was really hoping the food would be okay because it didn’t look very fresh. Unfortunately, the food was probably the worst Chinese food I’ve had in a long time. The food didn’t taste good, wasn’t fresh, and no flavor. I’m sorry to say, I will most likely not be back.

I’m a fan of Amy’s. First of all, Sonoma isn’t exactly known for affordable food choices so I’m always on the look out for good quality(yet easy on the pockets) cuisine. I love that I can get some food to go and enjoy it in the comfort of my own home too. My go-to meal is their Egg Foo Young, with the delicious sauce, and a side of steamed rice and my husband gets a combo with chowmein and sweet and sour pork. I’m never disappointed when I leave Amy’s. It feeds a family of three easily without breaking the wallet. It also helps that the staff is quick and the owner’s are amazing.

I stop in here once in a great while after using the credit union atm. its ordinary chinese food, filling but nothing special. the egg foo yung, egg rolls, chow mein, what more could you want or expect from a place like this? Next thing you know reviewers will be complaining about my favorite, the pto-mein chow mein.

Decent Chinese fast food. All the other reviews aren’t reviewing this place for what it really is: an independently owned fast food restaurant. The noodles were great and greasy, the sweet and sour pork was tasty, and the chicken was good. I enjoyed it. Plus, it’s pretty damn cheap if you ask me. I have no qualms eating here again. Still worlds better than Panda Express, from which I’ve gotten food poisoning on more than once occasion.

I will be generous giving this place a 3 star review since it has so many 1 star reviews. Thing is, the food is fine for the price because it is so inexpensive. It has zero atmosphere, so I have always only picked up take out to have at home. My family loves the place. I have had MUCH better Chinese, this is pretty standard Chinese(almost like a Panda Express), that sounds bad, I know. But unlike Panda, it is small and not a Nationwide chain. So, that being said, if you want quick, affordable take out Amy’s is worth it. I think you can get 3 different items for give or take $ 6 and it is A LOT of food, the large to-go container is stuffed to the brim. I usually get chow mein, sweet & sour pork and either black pepper chicken or kung pao chicken. Two meals worth of food. So, I spoke my mind, hope it helps.

This a great place for a good lunch. Inexpensive. With fast and friendly service. It’s set up very nicely inside. Make sure you bring cash tho. They don’t except card. Who does that?

The food is pretty tasty. It’s not the best by any means, but I like that it’s quick. I like their egg foo yung and sweet and sour pork. You do lose some quality for speed, as per usual. The other issue I have is that they are cash only. The plus is that there is an ATM right outside, but still, it seems ridiculous to me to not take debit/credit these days.

I just want to cry giving this place a one star review. I remember being a kid and coming to Amy’s when Amy was alive and the original restaurant was where Hot Box Grill stands today. The food used to be good, but when their lunch buffet took off it dissolved into this. Really sad, and the worst part is I honestly would trust the food safety of a Panda Express over Amy’s lately. I admit I haven’t been here in years and years and years, but I just can’t bring myself to give them a second chance. I have such fond memories of Amy’s and I don’t want to lose them.

Good take-out Chinese food. I like this place more than those Panda Express places. Not a ton of selection, but it’s good quality.
