Phoenix Down Recording is a state-​of-​the-​art recording studio that has been serving clients in the Somerville area since 2012. Our facility features two control rooms, a spacious live room, one large isolation room, and two smaller isolation booths. Along with two Neve Portico Channel strips for total sonic sculpting, we have numerous options/​tools such as analog tape, analog summing, mixing, and tuning plugins. Established in 2012.

3 Berklee Students decided to Build a recording studio in Quiet Somerville with a Goal of Creating an atmosphere that is Both Creative, and Professional. 3 months of Renovating later we have a dual control room studio with connections to 5 rooms through XLR wall Panels.

Business Owner

John studied Music Engineering and Production as well as Film Scoring at Massachusetts Berklee College of Music. After Working for a year at Time Bomb Studios, he pursued running a smaller recording studio before stumbling upon a great opportunity to Build a Professional Quality Studio in a town with so many great musicians and prospects.
