The service here is terrible. The young girl(like 15 years old) they have working there is super rude and provides bad customer service. Have dealt with her twice and is completely awful. Please consider readjusting her attitude and hire someone with good customer service skills. She gives the restaurant a bad name with her nasty attitude. Please fire her and hire actual professional people who know how to treat people and know what they are doing. This girl is a joke and should not be working there. Please FIRE her, thats how snotty and unprofessional she is. Just lost my appetite thinking of her Thanks!

Solid(American) Chinese food. Fast delivery most of the time. Good portion with competitive price. We’re fans of General Tso’s and the scallion pancakes. Sometimes all you need is greasy Chinese food!

Food was good but the service was terrible and frustrating; was basically hung up on when I tried to call to resolve an issue with my order processing. The first time I ordered, the delivery driver took an incredibly long time and went to the wrong address initially. Won’t be ordering again.

Definitely above average budget-Chinese takeout. Veggies are fresh and crispy rather than soggy and overcooked. Generally the food is neither over-oily nor over-salty. The chop suey in particular was much better than expected. As is true with any non-gourmet Chinese place, stick to the obvious and easy choices, don’t get too adventurous or ambitious. Prices quite good. They are open till 11 every night except Friday and Saturday when they close at midnight, so they are a good semi-late-night option in this sadly un-nocturnal part of town. Service was good, moderate wait time which is actually a good sign that they are not using a bunch of pre-cooked stuff. Will be back!

After 3 years of consistently good food from Oriental I figured it was time to write a review. These guys are my go-to for Chinese food delivery in the Somerville area, hands down. The vegetables are really fresh and well cooked(not mushy, just enough crunch), the egg rolls are the best I’ve found around the area, and the portions are really generous(plus they give you rice with everything unlike many other places around here). Fav dishes have been chicken/beef with broccoli or garlic sauce, steamed dumplings, and I also dig their sesame chicken or General Gau’s when I want some spice. Delivery is always quick and the drivers super friendly. Definitely give these guys a chance!

I thought the food was really good with one exception. I was not thrilled to find out that the lobster lo mein has barely any lobster in it. Instead, they use Pollock. YUK!!! If I order lobster lo mein I like to get just that. Not Pollock which is absolutely horrible. So, if you order from Oriental just don’t order the Lobster Lo Mein as you will be very disappointed. I gave Oriental’s 4 stars as everything else was really tasty and fresh. My wife and her fellow nurses all eat there regurlarly and they all give it a thumbs up, too!

Horrible place. Just ordered curry chicken, pork wonton soup n crab Rangoon. Curry chicken taste like rubber, its just disgusting. Grab Rangoon are burnt n wonton soup is paste expiration date, cause it smells really bad n meat inside wonton is black. Had to throw out all food. Do not order from here.

Great value, good food. A whole in the wall place, but very tasty American-Chinese food. A bit greasy at times, but it does the job!

So glad I randomly found this place through Grub Hub! Their broccoli w/garlic sauce is particularly good– it tastes like general gau’s sauce but w/veggies, so that’s awesome. Their fried rice is quality w/big chunks of veggies as well. Spring roll is okay. Beef w/broccoli is very good, according to my dining companion, and the lo mein was just good, not great. Overall, very solid. Also, reasonably sized portions mean a small(i.e. a pint) is truer to a small than most places(so go large, i.e. a quart, if you want a more typical Chinese restaurant portion!). My new go-to for online ordering/delivery. Highly recommend it!

I used to love Oriental– I mean you can only have so many expectations with Chinese take out but sadly Oriental has fallen off my «go to» list. Although the food was still decent, and they did honor my request«please do not use a lot of oil» WOW have portions gone down! It used tone a bargain; tons of food for cheap BUT after using foodler to order I was charged a $ 3 delivery fee. I still tipped on top of that because I know the driver may not see that $ 3. The bag was noticeably smaller than other local places. Inside a small black container with my fried rice and beef with broccoli. In a bag were my 3 small crab rangoons, and I didn’t even get a fortune cookie! So next time I will retreat to one of the other joints that gives me 3 days worth of Chinese for the same price!

Great value for the money. Restaurant manned by very hard working folks with some customers who are less than polite. How hard us it to say please and thank you? Anyway, I digress. The food is very reliable Chinese-American crave worthy food. Perfect when you want chicken wings, crab Rangoon, lo mein and the like. Don’t forget your manners.

Having ordered from Oriental numerous times, I have been extremely pleased with their excellence and consistency. Standards like hot and sour soup, General GAO, lo mein, twice cooked pork, crab Rangoon and more are always tasty without being overpowered by hot peppers. I’ve asked for specific added ingredients with never any hesitation, and the portions are large. My thanks for being a local gem!

I am a big fan of their General Gao’s chicken. Ordered it a number of times and it has always been excellent. The place itself is small, bare bones, with zero character — a place to pick up food rather than have a sit down lunch or dinner.

The chicken wings are the best I’ve ever had at a Chinese restaurant. crab Rangoon had filling in every bite, steaming hot and lots of crunch. dumplings, chicken lo main — all amazing!

I was a skeptic, especially after seeing the small storefront in Magoun Square. But after eating their food, I am a convert! Fresh, delicious, excellent food. Good, quick service. And open on Christmas day! Kung pao chicken, white rice, vegetable fried rice, chow mein w/steamed tofu, scallion pancakes, pan-fried dumplings: it was all great. If you are in Somerville, esp. near Magoun Sq., give them a try. You won’t regret it.

The food was oily and soggy. It tasted like they were going for mediocre and missed MASSIVELY! I ended up throwing at least half of the food away because it made me feel sick to my stomach.(I HATE wasting food!) Also, they got my order wrong and when I called to telly hem about it, they said that they called me twice(they hadn’t). When I told them that I received no phone calls, the person became RUDE and combative. The manager then refused to get on the phone to speak with me, citing that they had already called me twice(again…they had not). I would have given them some credit had they at least apologized, but they were extremely rude and unapologetic. I won’t be ordering from them again and would strongly encourage everyone to go with any of the many other Chinese restaurants in the area.

If I was reviewing this place when I first moved to South Medford, I would have rated this place much higher. I am not sure what happened but about half way through my 5 years living near this restaurant the food got awful. The inside of this place also seemed to get dirtier. Not too mention they added $ 3 delivery charge. I am annoyed with delivery charges anyway, but $ 3 is the highest I have ever seen. I have had better.

Bad. I don’t know why I went here except I believed Unilocal and it was in the way home. The oiliest most tasteless food I’ve had. They skimp on veggies filling their dishes with celery and onions. Nothing is fresh or crisp. The egg rolls are reheated and from a frozen mass produced factory. If you like limp oily food that is worse than frozen you buy at stop n shop go here. Otherwise, skip it. I am actually nauseated by the food. Also, take Unilocal reviews with a grain of salt. Positive reviews are especially suspect.

Traditional Chinese restaurant. We ordered over $ 50 forth of food and it was ready in 15 minutes. The Lo mein was tasty and the Crab Rangoon were crunchy. We will definitely be ordering from this place again soon.

I ordered from here tonight after a recommendation from the Front Desk Agent at my hotel. I wanted something satisfying after a long day. I ordered, then checked the reviews and got a bit nervous. I have to say, I’m definitely a fan! Wonton soup is good, not transcendent, but tasty and delivered super hot. Pork fried rice is great, full of flavour. The general tso chicken is straight up my favourite I’ve ever had, spicy, garlicy, and perfectly cooked, served with some nice, not overcooked broccoli!
