I’ve always been treated well at this shop. The prices are reasonable and their recommendations are straightforward. Haven’t had to do any serious repairs but would trust them to take care of it.

I’m a guy with bad car luck and Jimmy has saved my behind so many times it’s not even funny. Needless to say I wouldn’t even consider going anywhere else at this point. Jimmy is the most honest, thorough, dependable, and stand up mechanic I have ever gone to. If you are considering buying a car, I would advise having Jimmy look it over before you make the purchase. I’ve lived in Somerville just over a year and fortunately I was able to find a reliable, professional auto repair shop in my neighborhood right away! I ride by Fellsway Auto Shop (across from Foss Park) daily and their lot is always cramped with cars. In my mind this can only mean a couple of things 1) They do great work and these car owners were familiar and confident enough in Fellsway Auto to use their company or 2) they may be backed up and unable to repair my car in a timely fashion. The other thing I noticed was the exterior of the building was nondescript. Again, I figured either 1) they invested more into their equipment, services and staff/​people or 2) probably not going to work out for me. –full disclosure: I’m admittedly high maintenance.
Initially I went to get oil change, inspection etc. When I pulled up in the lot it was so crowded I couldn’t find a parking space so I could go in to speak with someone. Luckily, the manager (I think) was outside and said they were booked for the day but said he would get to it the next day. I brought it in and the staff was the height of professionalism. I posted pics when I checked in here so be sure to check out their classy waiting area, complete with car inspired retro artwork. They kept me informed of the progress that they were making as my car was being repaired. The atmosphere was beyond cool, like a chic casual ambiance. This is important to note because car repairs can be stressful. I knew I had time to stroll down Broadway in East Somerville so I took advantage of that and had Mexican Food. My car was ready as promised when I returned. I’ve since had one high ticket repair done there. I never hesitated to use them vrs running around trying to get «a better deal.» The only deal I’m interested in is an honest, competent auto shop that puts my family’s car safety first. Their prices are competitive and their quality of work second to none. It’s a hidden jewel.

I went here after NTB told me I needed an $ 800 brake job. The mechanic told me to come by after I got out of work. He took it right in. He said there was nothing wrong with my brakes except a little rust which he ground off for me. Only charged me

It sounded expensive. I went to Fellsway after reading some Unilocal reviews. They took the car for a spin, called me and explained what it was as clearly as they could (I didn’t quite understand it because it was over the phone, and I don’t know cars, but they really made an effort to explain), had it fixed within 3 hours, and didn’t charge too terrible amount for it. Plus, it’s super conveniently located. I hope your car never breaks down. But if it does, go here.

Long overdue review for Jimmy and his staff. I discovered this place when, in 1997, my old Accord decided to croak on McGrath Highway. Fellsway was the closest place to push it to. They were honest, thorough and fast. Since then, they have repaired all of my cars (currently a C3 Corvette and an Acura 3.2) quickly and expertly at fair prices, in some cases working miracles in no time flat. Jimmy talks fast because he is such a busy guy, but takes the time to explain exactly what’s gone wrong with the car and what it’s going to take to fix it. If you’re looking for a fancy place that serves lattes, has slick customer service representatives who will kiss your ass, and «technicians» who don’t actually know anything about cars, don’t go here. If want your car or truck fixed by real guys who have had grease on their hands for years and really KNOW cars, this is your place. The waiting rooms are nice, the bathrooms are clean, and they don’t talk down to women, either. Great place!

I am always very pleased with the work I get done to my car at this shop. The mechanics do outstanding work! The prices are very fair, I have not once been overcharged or felt ripped off which is usually how I feel after leaving a mechanics shop in the past. I highly recommend this shop to my friends and family, you will not be disappointed!

Jimmy and all the guys here are great! They always check out your trouble first and then give you a quote before doing any work. They also let you know what needs immediate repairs and what can wait. This is the first mechanic I’ve met who does the job right and for an honest price.

Car stalled so I had it towed to the nearest shop, which happens to be Fellsway Auto. It was the weekend so I had to wait till Monday, they don’t have an answering machine.
Went over at 7am this morning, Monday as stated on Unilocal as their opening hour but that’s incorrect. Anyway, I called at 9am to check up on the progress and Jimmy initially wasn’t able to replicate the problem, but pulled codes that the coils might be misfiring. He test drove it several more times and was able to identify the problem. It was also helpful I had past work record in my glove box.
Overall Jimmy laid out the issue clearly, was very down to earth and seemed genuinely wanted the best for me. With my approval, he ordered the part from the dealer and fixed another minor problem for me, all for $ 300.
When I went back to pick up the car, Jimmy was very patient and explained in detail what might have gone wrong. He couldn’t guarantee that the problem is completely fixed, but I definitely trust him and will go back again, especially since they’re literally down the street from me. It was a pleasure to work with them.
One tip I’d share is that if you need the turn around to be quick that you call them for updates. They don’t seem to have front desk staff, so they might not be as diligent in calling when the work is done. Jimmy seems like an honest guy and pricing is fair. I’d go back again, but hopefully not too soon.

These guys were great! I went in for an oil change and asked them to check on a few other things. They fixed up some minor issues free of charge and recommended a way to get some body work done at a steep discount. Highly recommended!

The guys at Fellsway saved me over $ 900 on my old Volvo wagon’s exhaust. They were honest with the situation and quoted me what a new exhaust would be and then suggested that they just weld the pipes back together and save me a ton of money. They are extremely efficient too. I trust their advice and skills!

Moved to Boston a few years ago and this place was recommended as good. I couldn’t be more pleased. They’re personable and always give me a good deal. I took my VW Golf in for a tuneup before a road trip, and they said, «Everything looks great. I could do X, Y, and Z and charge you for it, but the car is in excellent shape.» I now only bring my car to them. Always looking to help you out, explain to you exactly what’s going on and what needs — and doesn’t need — to be done.

The people here were the most helpful, honest folks I have ever dealt with, and they fixed my car for one tenth of what I expected to pay. They got me in and out very quickly. Fellsway Auto is the reason that I created a Unilocal account. The amazing service, honesty, and value that I found at Fellsway Auto is not something that I had experienced with a mechanic or auto body shop in the pSt. Their priority was to provide excellent service and save me money. I recommend highly.

Expect to be materially overcharged and receive bad service.
I have no idea what the other Unilocal reviewers are talking about «fair pricing» at Fellsway. I was overcharged by several hundred dollars for my BMW 3-​series. When the defrost didn’t work, I went to the closest place to get it repaired (not really safe to drive without defrost in an ice storm.) I chose Fellsway because of the 5-​star ratings on Unilocal,but oh how you led me astray.
I was overcharged $ 150 – 200 for parts alone (I googled the parts by brand name and got a comparable quote from my trusted repair shop in Brookline — love you Dave’s Auto!) When I asked Jimmy to substantiate the parts cost before paying the exhorbitant amount, he compared it against BMW dealer costs and told me he was giving me a 20% discount. What a hoax.

These guys really do deserve 6 stars for the service they performed on my 2007 Audi A4 2.0T. My exhaust was magically really loud one day and I knew that something had gone wrong with it. I decided to bring it down to Fellsway after work.
The guys might be there a little longer than their posted hours which worked out well for me to just drop my car off. I asked them to give me a quote soon as they could the next day. No later than 9:30 am they had called me and explained to me in detail what the exhaust issue was. They were honest and I did not feel like once I was being taken advantage of.
Exhausts on these types of cars could be very expensive upwards of $ 1000. They explained to me that it was simply a clamp that had rotted out and the total cost with parts and labor would be $ 78. I am very happy with their service and will be bringing my car there for any future repairs or services it may need.

customer service is everything for me: there’s a young buck idiot behind the desk that looks you dead in the face and waits for you to speak instead of greeting a potential customer… oops that’s all I needed to see, next shop will get the business. I’m glad I visited the shop because I didn’t see any foreign cars in the misfit of a lot they had.

I drove by this place for 3 years never once giving it a thought, until I discovered I was being ripped off by a «German Car Specialist» near Fenway.
I’ve been here twice now with my almost antique BMW and both times Jimmy had the car in the back for repairs within a matter of minutes (without an appointment).
Both times they’ve saved my butt, and my wallet.
I’m still shocked at how little I’ve paid for how much they’ve done.

Never again will I take my cars anywhere else in the future!
I had a car that was garaged for several months, and when I decided to sell it, I moved it back to my house and of course all of the lights came on. I dropped in on them unexpectedly, and explained to them the problem.
The brothers working there are knowledgeable, honest, and friendly. Within 20 minutes, they diagnosed my car and gave me a quote and time frame for repair — both very fair, and VERY quick.
Because I was looking to sell my car, they took an extra step to look over the ENTIRE CAR for me to prepare me for what any other mechanic would tell potential buyers. It’s so hard to find efficient and honest mechanics these days… I am very thankful that I found them!

I have brought my BMW’s to Jimmy a few times for maintenance, brakes, and engine checks. He is a very reliable and honest business man. He has helped me out numerous times and I appreciate it greatly. This is great place to bring your foreign cars!

I been fixing cars and trucks to a few mechanics before I went to Jimmy and that’s where I met all of his team. What amazes me all the tine is the fair price, they work fast and no BS or drama. The trust we built over the years will always get my business. Jimmy even land me his car to take care of a few personal errands or go home for the time the car was getting fixed. That’s what I call commitment to the customer. On occasion they will even go to my garage to address a last minute repair. Thank you guys.
