I had the best experience I could have asked for with Paul at EZ Auto Body! I (very stupidly) scraped my Honda CRV against a cement pillar with enough force to expose some metal. In a panic, I went to 4 different body shops in the area. I was worried about getting ripped off so I even considered fixing the scrape myself, which multiple people advised against. When I went to EZ Auto Body, Paul gave me the lowest quote and made me feel like I was in good hands. He was super cool and easy to work with, and had my car ready in 4 days. I am very happy with how things turned out! A bonus is that EZ Auto Body is across the street from a Hertz, so you don’t have to stress out about a rental while your car is in the shop. I would definitely recommend coming here!

The short story is that EZ Auto Body does great work, at reasonable prices, quickly.
I have taken my truck once and my wife’s Prius twice to Paul at EZ Auto Body. I did so the first time at my mechanic’s suggestion. It was good advice. Each time the work was done quickly and professionally, and on one occasion Paul alerted me to the fact that we would be covered by the other driver’s insurance for a rental car.
This last time around he found some damage that the inspector hadn’t and went above and beyond to get it done while we were away on vacation. He kept me informed without being bothersome, and the work — as always — was top notch. I truly believe EZ Auto Body is the best body shop in Somerville.

EZ Auto Body is well-​run business with great customer-​service. They provide excellent and detailed explanations of their work.
They have helped me on three occasions in the last three years. The most recent was a doozie of an accident. I was rear-​ended and needed a new trunk, bumper and work done on the frame of my 2010 Corolla. I came to Paul directly after an unfortunate and horrifying experience getting an inspection sticker at Somerville Auto Service on Warren St. a day after my accident and a day before the end of my registration expiration month (very unlucky timing!). Somerville Auto Service had me shaking and furious (see separate review for that shop). When I arrived at EZ Auto Body, Paul was a calm presence who walked me through what I needed to do and let me keep my rejected car at his shop, since I can’t park it on a city street, while I got the insurance squared away.
Not only is Paul very human, down to earth, and kind, but he kept me up to date with frequent phone calls as my car was being assessed by insurance and fixed by his shop. He dealt directly with my insurance company. He even offered me a great price on fixing up some dings on my front bumper in addition to the other work. Then, once the car was fixed, he took it back to that God-​awful Somerville Auto Service to get the registration sticker updated so I didn’t have to!
I picked up my car and it looked like new. It was also detailed inside and out! It felt soft as a baby’s bottom! Thank you to Paul and your crew! It’s so nice, as a woman, to be respected and treated fairly in this kind of business which I admittedly know little about!

I just had a great experience with EZ Auto Body and the proprietor, Paul Kassabian. My car (2008 Mazda) was banged up from living in Cambridge and Boston, and the front bumper cover (the wrap-​around plastic and trim) was in bad shape. Paul did a great job working with me; he understood that it’s an old car and I was looking for functionality, not beauty; he understood that it was not insurance work; and he came up with a very competitive quote (about half what a fancier place quoted). Paul got the job done quickly (in three days instead of the four or five he originally estimated), and did some extra touch-​up for free without asking (buffing out a scratch and touching up a scrape). He’s my new go-​to guy for body work. Highly recommended. (Note: don’t go here if you’re expecting a fancy waiting room and free WiFi. Save a lot of money and a lot of headaches by taking your car to Paul and walking to the Starbucks a quarter-​mile down Somerville Ave.)

TL;DR: As good as it gets!!!
My new (to me) car was involved in an accident — hit while parked. I have never had as much as a speeding ticket before, so I was at a complete loss for what to do. Not only that, I had just moved to Somerville so really had no idea where to turn — I didn’t even have a regular mechanic in my new neighborhood yet. I went to a few places who quoted me outrageous amounts — my car had been hit by a friend who was paying out of pocket for the repair, so cost was a big factor to me. I felt intimidated and overwhelmed.
Then I met Paul.
I stumbled across a Unilocal review for EZ Auto Body and let me tell you, the reviews do not lie. TEN STARS. When I called and told him that my car had been in an accident, his first response was «Are you ok?» Now, this seems like a small thing, but after the intimidation I had received from other places… this was a huge thing. Paul stayed late and waited for me so he could meet me after work. He gave me an estimate that was LESS THAN HALF of what other places had given me. AND he gave me a time estimate that was ALSO less than half of what other places had quoted. Instantly he made what was a bummer situation not so bad.
I dropped off my car on Monday, he said it would be ready by Friday. He had offered me lots of flexibility about when I wanted to get the work done. The car was still drivable so it wasn’t an emergency situation, but he treated it like it was.
He called me on Thursday to let me know the car would be ready for pickup the next day.
Once again, he stayed late and waited for me to come pick up my car. My car looked absolutely beautiful — better than she had ever looked! He did an amazing job. He also detailed my entire car, something I had not expected. The price he quoted me was the same as the final amount.
The entire experience was wonderful, start to finish. I cannot recommend Paul and his work more. I hope to never personally need his services again but if I do it feels really good knowing I have someone I can count on.

Above and beyond. This is not what you’d expect from a body shop! Paul was helpful, honest, very reasonably priced, and fast. My car was hit 4 days before we were leaving on a long trip — in THIS car. Paul heard my panic, fit it into his already full schedule — and actually had it ready before he’d anticipated — beautifully repaired, washed and cleaned, ready to pack for our trip. I would not go anywhere else in the future.

TL;DR — Fast, transparent, reasonably priced.
I dropped my Honda Civic off on Tuesday morning of Thanksgiving week 2015 to get new fender liners put in, get my front bumper reattached, and have a new back bumper put on. These were just a series of small things that had been gathering for months and needed to get done before winter, so there wasn’t any insurance involved — I paid out of pocket.
I dropped my car off at 10:15AM on Tuesday. I had an estimate by 10:45AM. They started work right away, and I was able to pick my car up at 11:00AM the Friday after Thanksgiving. To save me money, all the parts Paul used (with my permission) were after-​market. The total cost was $ 950 — a lot of money, but very reasonable considering the amount of work that was done — and when I came to pick up my car, they had cleaned it thoroughly inside and out.
I didn’t ask them to expedite it, or anything. I said I’d be fine getting it early next week. They just did it fast because they could. I’d recommend them to anyone.
N.B. They take cash or check (or insurance), no credit. It’s definitely something to consider, but I’d guess that’s part of why they can offer such fair prices.

This is a great body shop! I went here in July 2015 to fix a car for a friend. The owner Paul is very knowledgeable of car body work and is very helpful in explaining it to me. The price is also very reasonable and the Ford car looks like new after being fixed! This is the best body shop I searched around the area and I would highly recommend it!

My Honda CR-​V was sitting on the street when someone smashed into and then drove away. This was the first time my car had been in an accident and wasn’t drive-​able. I wasn’t even sure what to do or where to start. My fiancé called Paul and it was the best decision we made. Paul told us we had to wait until we had an appraisal form to begin any work, but he actually called us a few times to check in and see how everything was progressing before we even brought our car in. I was already impressed with his customer service and we hadn’t even given him business yet.
Paul is also super knowledgable and very willing to work with your insurance company. My car was with him for 2 weeks and I never had to worry about him updating me, or the insurance company, or getting the proper paperwork in order. I pretty much dropped my car off, and then picked it up. And the best part is my car looks SO GOOD. The entire part of the car that was smashed now looks brand new. He cleaned and detailed the entire inside and outside of my car, which I couldn’t believe. And even better, my headlights were super cloudy, and he restored them back to new for free! I seriously couldn’t believe how nice he was, how communicative he was, and how awesome the work was.
If you ever find yourself needing auto body work, Paul and EZ Auto Body should be your first call. I have to say, now that I’ve been here, the next time something happens to my car, I’ll be a lot less stressed knowing I can just bring my car here and I’ll be taken care of.

I was thoroughly exasperated with the other shops in Somerville putting me through the ringer since I so obviously know nothing about cars when I stumbled on this hidden gem. Absolutely amazing service– Paul was great to work with and gave me all the information I needed without trying to sell me on any of the other little things my car needs fixed. Was under a bit of a time crunch and he was able to order the new parts (my mirror got ripped off) and get this all turned around in two days. Can’t say enough how please I was with the service!
Huge bonus– didn’t charge me an exorbitant amount of money like everywhere else I called did. Explained how much the part cost and how much he was charging me for labor and really put it all on the table for me to make a decision. Awesome guy and the work was phenomenal!

Took my car here again recently, and Paul did awesome work once again at an excellent price. You won’t find a better deal and a more solid guy.

Great service. Paul managed our car repairs quickly and seamlessly, linking with our insurer and keeping us up to date throughout the week. Convenient location across from Hertz car rental. Highly recommended.

Brought in our Subaru Outback to get both bumpers fixed — received a very precise quote, some good advice about what to repair and what to replace, and a very accurate timeline of when the work would be done. Friendly, good communication when we needed an extra part not originally in the estimate, beautiful work. I hope we never have to go back (i.e. never have another accident), but we would recommend this place to anyone and it will be our first stop for future autobody work. Just a wonderful experience.

My car required front-​end body panel and suspension work after it was hit by a cab. The owner (Paul) did an excellent job getting it back to stock condition. The paint on the replacement panels blend seamlessly with the original panels, and the car drives straight like it did when I bought it. I was somewhat worried given the complexity of the car (an M3). When aligning the wheels, for example, it requires that one place different weights in the front and rear seats to be properly calibrated. I had an independent BMW mechanic check out the car afterward and he said that Paul did everything well. Paul kept me up to date on the progress of the repairs and patiently answered my questions. He even had the car detailed before I picked it up.

I just got my car from EZ Autobody. My experience was excellent from the beginning until the end. Paul, the owner, was really nice, the communications were really easy and he dealed with my insurance which made my experience easier after an accident. He told me 5 days and it was. My car has been clean and wash and the job is perfect. I will recommand this body shop completely. Thanks again Paul and hope you will get more customers, you really deserve it.

This is the first time I got into a crash and had my car fixed. And the experience was AWESOME!
First, the location is perfect in the sense there is a Hertz just across the street, which is very convenient to just drop your car on this side and pick up another one on the other.
Most importantly, Paul (the owner) is super nice. He took responsibility beyond simply fixing the car, but also handled all the trouble communicating with my car insurance company and helping me rent a car. So the process is very smooth, just sending my car into the store, got into another car right away, and come back days later to change the car back! And the process is very fast and efficient. When I got back to my car, it is like a brand new one, cleaned inside and outside, and with a sweet welcome note beneath the driver’s seat, which makes my whole day.
Thank you Paul for everything! I’m never afraid of crashes anymore lol.

My car was HULK SMASHED and this place returned it to good as new!
My Toyota Avalon was hit by a big moving truck while it was parked on the street, with damage to just about every part of the left side — front fender, both doors, bumper — and the rear view mirror was knocked into the next zip code. Luckily, the other driver had good insurance, so financially, everything was taken care of.
This is my first car and my first experience with insurance and car repairs, so I came in with almost zero knowledge of what to do and how these things go down. Paul at the shop was completely down to earth, honest, clearly very hard working, gave very good time estimates on when the work would be done, and did a great job of keeping me up to date on progress. He explained everything related to the insurance side of things very clearly and was awesome to work with. I HOPE my car doesn’t need body work again, but if it does, I’ll definitely come back here! It’s amazing.

I got a recommendation to use EZ after I got in an accident that left my car with dents and scratches along the right side. From the first phone call EZ lived up to its name. I was pretty sure I wanted to get the car repaired, but my car is old and I wanted to make sure it was worth it. Paul gave me a free assessment and gave me the facts so I could be sure of my decision. He dealt with the insurance company, the car rental place (which is right across the street). It couldn’t have been easier for me. He was also able to give me a good deal and my car looks great, better than before the accident. They were able to get rid of a few scratches that were on the car when I got it. They cleaned the insides and waxed it too. I highly recommend EZ.

Recently went here for a repair from yet another parked fender bender. The owner did a completely thorough job in fixing Tootie the Toyota, and even fixed some prior botched work done by another auto body. And on top of that, he gave me a free car detail and removed some bike tire and oil marks, dating back to 2010. Go here.

Wow. Smurf (yes, my car’s name is Smurf, she is light blue just like a smurf and has been mine for almost 13 years so I love her) has never looked so good. I don’t know how more people do not know about this hidden gem of an autobody shop. Paul did wonders with my car!
Smurf had a small piece of paint peeling off of her and I didn’t want her body to rust, and Paul was just the man for the job. Not only was I given a great rate, but my car including all of the buffing and painting and everything was done in about 2 days! Amazing! And they even completely cleaned my car from head to toe including the hubcaps which I have not seen shine so much since I bought this car in 2000, a complete vacuum job inside on all of the carpets and floors, and they wiped everything clean inside too! Picking up Smurf from a car shop has never been so exciting! She is like a brand new lady thanks to this place, and I now know the one place I will always bring my car when I need work done on it. You can tell this place is honest and truly loves what they do, which is exactly the type of place I like to bring my car to. My car is like family to me, and so I wouldn’t trust leaving her just anywhere. You may miss this place your first time driving down the street, but trust me when I say that this place is awesome and this is really the only place you should bring your car. They are knowledge, reasonable in price, produce great fast work, and they made Smurf shine!
