History
Established in 2012.
Vicky Magaletta, the owner, has brought music and rhythm to Union Square, Somerville, MA for several years, running the Dance Union Studio and the Tango Society of Boston on 16 Bow Street.
In June 2012, she expanded her repertoire to include Café Tango, a vibrant coffee shop serving a variety of coffees, teas, crepes, sandwiches and desserts.
She opened the café downstairs from her dance studio for a number of reasons, the most important being «to have a place that is a bit different from other cafés, with the purpose of exposing the customers to different cultures.»
The space, decorated with items she has collected in her travels throughout the years, gifts from friends, has a distinctive dance and music theme.
Café Tango offers live music, lectures and other cultural activities and is open until midnight for those looking for a late-night coffee and desserts
