If you like diners, this place is the real deal. Old lunch-car, cash-only, counter seating, greasy spoon diner. Tasty classic breakfast and lunch food.

Love this place. Very small. Son actual tables just bar and stools but I like how cozy it was and everyone was extremely nice. I would go back it is right around my school. Food was amazing ’

What a great place. Found this place looking through Unilocal on my visit to Boston and saw the great reviews and was not disappointed. Excellent service with delicious home style breakfast.

We were recommended to check out Buddy’s by our Airbnb host Soledad. We were definitely not disappointed. As visitors from Australia we were looking forward to an authentic ‘diner’ experience and this was it. Michelle and Brandon were great hosts and their food was awesome. Totally recommend this to anyone visiting the Boston area. Sit with the locals and enjoy your breakfast while watching the food being prepared in front of you. Awesome experience.

This place does a perfect job of being a tiny truck stop diner. I say it’s excellent. We had the pancakes and the eggs/hash, and we’ll definitely be back. The bread it came with? We guess it’s from a bakery, because man, it was tasty. All the ingredients/food was like that. Fresh fresh fresh. Coffee was strong and rich. Another thing that should be mentioned– it’s very clean behind the counter. My girlfriend appreciated that. I appreciated how fluffy the pancakes were. Before 10am there were a bunch of grandpas talking shop in there. They were awesome. The grille cook at the waitress(and her young daughter?) were super friendly. This is my new favorite diner. I’m going to go back. Maybe in a few hours. Inexpensive too, which is hard to find for a decent meal. Cash only!

This place is by far my favorite diner of all time. The food is incredible, the atmosphere is charming, and the price is right. Try the french toast, or the hash!

A hidden gem! Don’t expect anything fancy– if you order an egg sandwich, you’re getting eggs on toast. But don’t get me wrong, it’s a great egg sandwich! Good coffee, great people watching and a cheap, filling breakfast! Ca$h only!

Very cool little place and it was open early in the morning on Saturday. Breakfast was solid and it was cool place for a tourist to check out. Eggs and potatoes were both great.

Buddy’s Diner is awesome. Everyone there was so friendly, what a great atmosphere. The guy taking orders was so sweet and immediately made me feel at home. I ordered the half size corned beef hash with scrambled eggs, home fries and toast. It was delicious! The corned beef hash is homemade and you can get it with peppers and onions mmmm. It is cash only, but there is a bar a couple steps away with an ATM.

These people surely know how to make you part of the family! Just pay back in kind and you’re up for great breakfast with great people from around and abroad :) Shout-out to the great staff that keep the grills hot and customers happy.

Awesome lil place. Great atmosphere. Small but very neat idea. Had ham steak(sliced city ham) and eggs $ 7.99 and hash and eggs for $ 8.99. Home fried potatoes were seasoned and good. Coffee was on point and hot. Would recommend trying this out at least once just for the experience.

I have been coming to the dinner twice a year for the past 8 years, and always look forward to my breakfasts at Buddy’s Diner. WOW, what a major disappointment for the first visit in 2015, and since December 2014. Not sure where to start, but here I go. The space was definitely not as clean as it should be. Sodas and water bottle were being stored by the front door, and under seating areas. When we walked in there were dirty counters spaces as well as plates still there from customers who had left. The place was not busy; only two others were eating there. The chef has changed, and the food has as well. I always find it hard to screw up breakfast but it can be done folks. The eggs were under cooked(he had a hard time flipping them over), the bacon was not crispy at all, the english muffins were soggy and the potatoes were burnt, and not seasoned. Don’t even get me started on the coffee. I have to say after all these years, this will definitely be the last Buddy’s visit unless there is a major turn around. Too bad as the space could really be something.

Very quaint old train car with cozy seating. Build about 85 years ago. They still have a rotary phone in service. Primarily a breakfast place that also sells burgers and hotdogs. Sometimes the burgers sell out, well of course I said it was mainly breakfast place. The prices were normal. The home fries were very tasty. Food is cooked right in front of you. They are very polite and professional. Amanda was very personal and made us feel like family which is tricky to do when you are from way out of town. Such nice people.

It’s a good breakfast. Nothing special food is very fresh. The cook is incredibly slow plan to spend some time waiting.

I like my brunches simple and filling, and am not a fan of paying an arm and a leg to go to a fancyish place just to get overpriced eggs and toast. That being said, sometimes you just don’t want to go through the hassle of frying up your own bacon and flipping your own pancakes. Buddy’s is a tiny dining car and probably fits like…16 people max? I thought it was an abandoned shack whenever I rode by it on the bus. Don’t be dissuaded! Crispy bacon, fluffy pancakes, homemade corned hash?! YES. Solid breakfast food for a decent price. The coffee is standard diner coffee, but in a good way. Homefries leave a bit to be desired but certainly not bad. There’s one short order cook, so it can get a bit hectic and wait times can be a bit variable depending on how busy it is and what everyone else has ordered but that’s the nature of a tiny diner. The people working there seem a bit rough around the edges but have been very friendly when I’ve been there. Check it out and impress all your friends with this sweet diner they’ve probably never been to, haha.

I drive by Buddy’s at least a couple times a week and I’d wanted to go there for about a year before I finally managed to get over there. I love diners and it’s just so cute and small that it always caught my eye. So let’s just say I had high expectations. And it definitely met them! I had a breakfast sandwich for less than five bucks, and I loved reading the old news articles about Buddy’s history on the wall. My friends and I sat at the booth that sits right in front the stove so we watched them cook up our eggs and bacon and pancakes. Perfect community place.

Tiny place with a wonderful diner experience… Come in, sit down and order from hanging plates:) I ordered the number 1, full hash. Not too salty, cooked to order. Just yummy! The boo got the French toast. Not too sweet or overly sprinkled with cinnamon. The eggs, home fries, coffee were all delish! Come early and try it out!
