I’ve stayed in my fair share of hotels. I try to get a good price each time, so $ 82 for a king room seemed OK. Especially since the pictures online showed a jacuzzi, and the amenities included a refrigerator and a microwave. Imagine my surprise when we got to our room and found none of those things. Apparently you have to «rent» the microwave and refrigerator, and there is only one king room with a jacuzzi that happened to be already booked that night. If I had known all of that, I wouldn’t have spent the extra money to upgrade to a king room. Then, for a cherry on top of the sundae, there was a prom being held the same night we stayed (super noisy and no parking), the bathtub was filthy, there was no battery in the smoke detector (the battery tray was sticking out), the internet kept disconnecting, and the roll of toilet paper in the bathroom was almost empty. I understand wanting to save money, but really? I paid more for more amenities and didn’t get them. Heck, I didn’t even get some of the standard amenities. At least the front desk lady was pleasant.

We stayed over a night at this hotel. For a $ 70 rate.
1. The clerk was very helpful. Kind and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable after all the inconveniences the hotel had.
2. The hotel itself was dirty, the room that we walked into had undone bedding dirty bathroom. The next room we got placed at had hair on the sheets. And the toilet was stained yellow.

This is the worst place to stay at. I reserved a king size room n they gave us double, which we had to move. Then the king size bed room, there was a leak from the rain. Now the manager, response– no maintenance in area. You need to come down if you want to change room. She didn’t even apologize. She was nasty and rude. This place doesn’t deserve a star at all.

So I’m here right now, it’s old, doesn’t smell like piss or cigs so at least it’s not that far down the food chain. Everything else around was booked up and didn’t want to hit up Baymont across the road as they’re hit and miss. Should have checked it out but alas off the turnpike at 10pm, it beats sleeping in your car. $ 69, double so I don’t feel too ripped off.

Any time you roll in at 1:00am after a long drive with no reservation, you can only hope it’s not horrible. We were so pleased; Michael, the night desk employee, was awesome! Friendly and fast, we were in our room in record time. The room was clean and quiet and a good deal for the price. The only downside was the weird mini pillows on the bed. I left my suitcase behind so I’ll update this review when I recover it, hopefully without incident.

This is a standard «Inn”-less than a $ 100. The breakfast was standard. The rooms were standard — microwave, TV, Iron, Ironing board. We paid $ 82.00 for a two-​double-​bed room. We got what we expected. For a one night stay, it was fine. Didn’t need to stay at a more expensive hotel for an overnight.

Reasonably clean rooms but no elevator. Also note that there is very limited parking due to the night club in the hotel. Decent continental breakfast.

Stayed here for a friend’s wedding. Was finally able to make a reservation after 4 phone calls. No one bothered to tell me the group rate was only valid for double rooms. Our room was not cleaned in the nearly 12 hours we were out, yet room service barged in as I was getting ready to check out after 2 nights. Had to wait for 20 minutes to get a receipt at check our due to «computer problems.» No whirlpool as advertised. A friend’s bed wasn’t made upon arrival. He was asked if he could just use the other bed! I do not recommend this hotel.

Short version: Bedbugs.
Do you really need to know anything else?

I really am boggled by the slew of negative reviews on this place. Let me outline my experience.
At 8:30 pm on a Sunday I called from the road looking for two rooms for six travelers. The lady on the other end of the line was kind and pleasant even though I didn’t have my information squared away. When I called, all they had were King rooms, but beggars can’t be choosers, so I went ahead and made the reservation. At this point in time we were 35 minutes away from the motel.
The Quality Inn in Sommerset, PA is right off of the highway. It is literally at the bottom of the exit. Couple that with a $ 79 per night charge on a king room, and one does not expect five star accommodations.
What I did expect was a quiet place to recharge after almost twelve hours in the car with three children. And that is exactly what we got.
Upon arrival, the same young lady I spoke with on the phone was at the desk and she remembered me, remembered the kids and so because it was after nine pm and because the people who had booked some rooms had not checked in, she offered to change us over to two double rooms, which were $ 10 a night cheaper. So we did that.
The rooms are large and clean. They might be a bit dated, but after twelve hours in a mini-​van with three kids (all under 14) who cares? I’m not going to spend twenty minutes marveling about the state of the linens. Were they clean? Yes. That’s all that matters.
Our room was quiet, even though the Inn was pretty booked, and we all slept well. At 7:30 in the morning, the showers were piping hot with great pressure. The tubs are older, but they are not, as some people mentioned, dirty. At least ours weren’t.
The breakfast in the morning was okay. Not the best I’ve had, but certainly not the worst. They had sausage and eggs, a waffle machine, fruit, cereal and breads and pastries. There was coffee, juice and water. And this was all included in with the price of the rooms.
Every single interaction I’ve had with staff has been pleasant. Friendly, helpful and quick to please, I’ve gotten better service here than in hotels that have cost three times as much.
Right now the kids are enjoying the heated indoor pool while I write this review. All in all, this was a really good find. If it were closer, it would be a great contender for my work weekends, as the free high-​speed WiFi is very snappy and the work space in the very spacious double room is quite nice.
Bottom line: If you want cheap, clean and accessible and are travelling through Sommerset, this is a great deal. As an aside, this is a pet-​friendly hotel as well.
If you want Hilton-​esque fru-​fru-​ness and the price tag that goes with it, stay elsewhere.

This place is outdated and feels dirty. We stayed here because they allowed pets and we traveled with our dog. The linens are so old, ugly and rough-​feeling. The breakfast is unsavory. The bathroom was the worst part. It was rusty and the bath tub was stained from years of usage.
The price was twice as much as the other surrounding hotels – probably because of the indoor pool. We actually paid $ 110/​night. So Not worth it!

This hotel is supposedly pet-​friendly; however, when I went to check in with my dog (it was 97 degrees outside, he couldn’t wait in the car and I was traveling alone), they told me he couldn’t be in the lobby. Uh, what? Contrast that with other pet-​friendly hotels who WELCOME him (small, well-​behaved) with pets, treats, etc., and we’re already off to a bad start. Then, I find out that they’ve lost my reservation. Based on a parking lot that, at best, is ¹⁄₁₀^th full, I ask if it’s possible that I could just have a room («without» a reservation). This concept takes them FOREVER to grasp. FOREVER. They finally tell me, begrudgingly, that I could have a room, but not at the rate of $ 86 (what my reservation stated – I showed them the e-​mail). I would have to pay $ 92. FINE. Who cares? Just check me in! I’m exhausted, and you keep giving my dog a dirty look. I FINALLY get into my room, and it’s gross. Stained ceiling, reeked of mold. Just gross. Get up in the morning for the continental breakfast? In there by 8:30 (supposedly served until 9), and there’s hardly anything left. No one restocking either. Finally left and went to Starbucks. Avoid this place.

Checked into room. Sheets stained. Very old everything. We turned around amd checked out. wemt across street to Baymont.

The staff at this hotel were all very helpful, getting whatever we needed. The complimentary breakfast was all one could want. So many choices. The rate was very reasonable.$ 67.00 with a 10% discount for AARP members. Rooms were clean although a little outdated.
A few things that were annoying was the fact that if you came off the turnpike and went past the entrance to the hotel, it was very difficult to find the entryway back into the hotel and there were no signs as to how to get back to the hotel. It took us about 15 minutes to figure it out. The hallways were cold and especially the area around the pool was pretty cold. The hot tub was not working, it had not been working a month earlier as well.

To start off, my 5 star rating is based upon what I expect from a 2 star hotel for which I paid $ 58 a night. The staff at the hotel were very pleasant when I arrived at 11pm at night and already had my keys and paperwork ready for me to check in. I already had bad ideas in the back of my head from the stories I had read online. I was surprised to see that they were all wrong.
No, this is not a J.W. Marriot (been there). No, it is not a Doubletree (been there). This is a Quality Inn located directly off of the PA Turnpike. My only complaint about my two night stay was that the matress was a little uncomfortable, but again, this is a Quality Inn, not a 5 star hotel. The indoor pool (most of the hotels in the area had outdoor pools that you wouldn’t want to get into in the winter) was heated and quite pleasent. The breakfast was exactly what you would expect from a conteniental breakfast. If you don’t like that type of breakfast, there are plenty of other restaurants within walking distance of this hotel.
Bottom line is this… The next time I travel to the Somerset area, I will be looking at the Quality Inn first before I look anywhere else in the area.

Not so quality like. If you opend you blinds people could see into your rooms and if you do go the only thing is make sure you are under 6ft because if you are not your head will go through the ceilings of the halls and the rooms. The halls smelt like and ash tray and it did attract some sketchy people. The other big thing is the toliet is meant for kids as it is only about a foot off the ground not exadurating and also do not forget about the dripping ac units in the rooms. All in all a good night stay I had but do not go expecting luxury acomidations or you will be upset.

Great tip. I wish I had read it before staying here myself. Poor staff, filthy rooms. I have stayed in many Quality Inns over the years and this one was the most memorable, unfortunately. It looked a little sketchy when I walked into the lobby and I should have followed my instinct and walked right back out. I decided to give it a try and learned once again to trust first impressions. The beds looked slept in and there were dirty towels in the bathroom. When I called to let the front desk know the clerk seemed unconcerned and simply asked if I wanted to change rooms. The thought of dragging my exhausted kids into another filthy room did not appeal to me so I got the sleeping bags and pillows from the car and went to the front desk for some new towels – hoping that the staff would do the right thing on their own. Instead they were consistent and failed to exhibit even common manners as I waited for one clerk while the other did paperwork that was far more important than taking care of a paying customer. In the end they did not even hint at an apology or remorse at the situation. This business deserves to fail.

Half the rooms here had their windows removed because the courtyard behind them was enclosed. Add to that no exhaust fans in the bathrooms, and what do you get? That’s right, ZERO ventilation for 10+ years! The rooms reeked of cigarettes and mold. I am allergic to both, so I went to walmart and got an air purifier for the night ($ 15), but I still woke up with a swollen face and sneezing attacks. When I told management the next day, it took them 8 hours to get me a new room. They wouldn’t bother to have their maids put a rush on one of the rooms with a window. Finally when I did get the new room it was much better — then they came by and tried to tell me they meant to give me a different room. Then some other guest entered my room — they had given it to someone else! They apologized for that, but what a freaking nightmare.
Also, the pool area is nice, but the pool was a bit too cold, and the hot tub water was kind of nasty. You have to change the water in those once in a while, you know.
The breakfast has waffle machines, but not enough of them, there was a pretty big line to use them.

One of those ubiquitous chain hotels. This one has large comfortable rooms grouped around a large interior courtyard that contains lounging areas and plantings. Indoor pool. They have a bar that opens at 6pm and live music. No refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms. Good wireless internet connection. They advertise free continental breakfast, and tell you at check-​in it is served from 6 am to 9am. At 8:50 am, food was picked up and late-​comers (like me, and another gentleman with his small kids) were too late. As always, a basic rule is to give people notice and to do what you say you are going to do. Politicians never learn that, and apparently, neither do some motel managements.
