Ordered pork soup, lamb, and some vegetables. Bland, but I guess that’s just Hong Kong food in general. The soup tasted better and better as time went on

When I travel to this area I always come to Hong Kong Garden for dinner. The service is great, they always seem to remember me. The food is very good and the portions are large. One of my favorites.

Usually more delicious than your traditional Chinese take out shacks. There’s a tiny bit of extra effort put into the food prep and the chicken doesn’t taste that much like rubber

Authentic, delicious and fresh tasty Cuisine. Love how they serve a hot pot of tea for every table. Lunch includes a choice of soup. Can’t wait to return to try their seafood specialities.

This little restaurant is just a few minutes away from my parents’ business so I know they, along with their employees, are frequent visitors. When my dad promises to bring food so we can eat in, I know that he actually means that he’ll be ordering take-out from Hong Kong Garden. I love their broccoli with garlic sauce. It’s just a teeny bit spicy and it’s delicious! My dad is a huge fan of their stir fried lotus root(sounds weird but it tastes amazing). It’s a pricier dish but it’s cooked with Chinese sausage and peas and I highly recommend it to everyone. All of the entrées come with hot and sour soup and that’s pretty delicious too. The dried tofu is on point. As for the service, I always see one of the owners, a nice older gentleman who always provides top-notch service, wait on tables. I have no complaints about it at all!

There are a lot of Chinese restaurants in this area, and this may be the reason for the lack of a really good go to restaurant. I have tried quite a few and was really pleased to finally find what may become my go to Chinese restaurant in this area. I have been there two times, MY orders have been pretty simple shrimp and lobster sauce, egg foo young. I was pleasantly pleased on both occasions. They are also pleasant and the prices are not crazy. Some of the other Chinese restaurant in this area have gone down over the years. I’m glad this place is putting out some standard hands down good Chinese food.

How could all the high ratings be wrong? They are spot on, this was some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. Can’t tell from the old shopping center and worn marquee sign but inside is a hidden gem. I ordered the General Tso’s chicken and the breading on the chicken was perfect. The chicken was also high quality, solid pieces instead of the normal chicken chunk you get at other joints. Highly recommend!

This is our go to Chinese take out spot. Everything is consistently fresh and delicious. I always get the chicken and broccoli and the bf loved their wonton soup. I wish they delivered but it’s worth the drive.

Great quality chinese food. Better than your run of the mill Americanized place. This is way more authentic. The food isnt as greasy and the menu is more specific. If you dine in you get tea which is always a pleasant thought. I would def go back one day if it was closer to my apartment. Not sure if they deliver. Service wasnt that great but thats because there is a lady cooking in the back and 1 server, at least during lunch time.

This is a nice restaurant with authentic Cantonese cuisine. The seafood was fresh and the veggies were cooked with enough wok hay and came out steaming hot. The noodle soups were not spectacular, but were satisfying and filling. Definitely a good place to revisit!

I miss this place as I worked in Somerset for over 20 years. Their cod in black bean sauce was terrific. Every dish I ever ordered here was very good. Clean, table cloths, with good service.

The meal was very good but the service was phenomenon. As a weary business traveller, I was equipped with plates and plastic wear!!! Very nice touch

The restaurant is in a plaza and is small. There were very few people there, two tables taken when we arrived. The service was very good, but a tad bit slow. Everyone was very polite/courteous. The food was typical American-Chinese food, but we were not disappointed. There are several selections from the menu and additional options listed on the wall. The combo portion is plenty for one and the cost for the meal is what one would expect.

Enjoyed my hot and sour soup, and since the better half seemed to be quietly polishing off his bowl of Wanton, I tried some — and that was excellent too! The Cod in Black Pepper Sauce was lovely! Really fresh fish and the right amount of spice served on a sizzler plate. Curry Chicken with onion was nice, but nothing great. What really raised the food to a different level altogether was the chilly oil — the best and freshest I’ve had in a while! The only thing is that the gravy in both dishes started coagulating as it cooled, leaving me wondering why(too much cornflour perhaps?). The place is not cheap at all, with each entrée being around $ 15. Service is excellent and the seating, though basic, is spotlessly clean, tables covered with bright white table cloths et al. The bill(which is handwritten in Chinese, by the way) came out with the expected fortune cookies, and wedges of fresh, sweet orange… A lovely touch to a great meal! I’ll definitely be back!

This place is awesome! It stinks they don’t deliver but it’s worth it to get take out. It’s one of the best Chinese food places around Somerset. Everytime I’ve called, the phone is answered right away. The person taking the order is super friendly and our food is always ready within 15 minutes as they promised.

Great place! Good service, clean and delicious Cantonese food. We ordered from the Chef’s special and its general menu: Fish with tofu(豆腐魚片): fish was very tender and fresh, the sauce was wonderful, my favorite among all the dishes we ordered. Fried rice(揚州炒飯): this is a very safe choice, YangZhou fried rice, comes with some shrimp and diced pork. This could never go wrong. Taro braised pork belly(芋頭扣肉): the taste was ok for me, but it’s a rare southern style dish you can find around this area. So good job on the effort! Bean sprouts(炒豆苗): seasoning was very good, it comes with some crunchy garlic. Overall I think the chef’s special dishes are worth the try, I’m glad I can read Chinese, because on the english white board, many dishes were left out. Among all the dishes, the fish with tofu really stand out. Would like to try more seafood based dishes next time.

Absolutely love this place. Friend of mine turned me onto them a few years ago and we come here as a treat. Its a little different than the standard chinese fair in the area and thats what makes it stand out. My favorite by far is the house special mai fun but the general tso’s is very good as well. They have the best crunchy noodles around and I would almost come here just to eat those. The owner is always super friendly and comes to talk to us. Only downside is no delivery but you can’t win them all.

I’ll have to try this place one more time because I really wanted to like it more. Small, clean, very friendly, family-owned and run restaurant. I ordered the Kung Pao Tofu lunch special with a shrimp egg roll, which came with complimentary tea, fried noodles, and I believe soup(no soup for me — not a pork eater). The tea was warm, not hot; but I’m sure if I had bothered to ask, a new pot would have been provided. The tofu was blisteringly hot and had obviously not been hanging around growing cold. Unfortunately, although scalding, it was not spicy in least, but as this place specializes in Cantonese dishes it wasn’t a surprise. It was, though, quite oily, as was the egg roll, which had a strange chemical taste. $ 10 for lunch seemed a bit on the steep side considering the quality. Next time, I will try the Egg Foo Yung, since that is my kryptonite. The right Egg Foo Yung can absolve a multitude of sins.
