Changes by Linda & Co Hair Salon

I love this salon. I don’t really like getting my hair cut… I have long hair and I always feel like stylists are trying to insight their own agenda on me but that was absolutely not the case at Changes. My stylist, Bunnie, looked at pictures I brought with me and never batted an eye when I said a bunch of things I did and didn’t want and then threw my hands up and said «whatever you think is best». The establishment was clean, nicely decorated and… at least my stylist Bunnie, was well skilled in her craft, seemingly keeps up on new techniques and practices and had top of the line equipment. I was able to get an appt same day () and although they mentioned hair care products that would help my routine they didn’t push annoyingly for me to buy products. (I hate that so very much). Only downside… small parking lot.

This modernized red water tower/​mill is a 2-​storey salon in East Amwell. It’s cozy but not cluttered; the reception desk offers apple cider, Keurig coffee & tea PLUS fresh milk! They also had a little spread of tortilla chips, pico, and guac, so you can eat and drink during your wait. The space has historic charm, and all of the women on the staff seem great. My sister and I followed Bunny from her previous salon (while she was in between salons, she would drive from Somerset to Griggstown and do our hair at our home. She is an incredible lady.) I was cursed with fine, thin hair, and Bunny is the only hair dresser in NJ who knows how to trim and make it bouncy and fresh without giving me ugly layers. My sister is undergoing chemo, so her hair is now incredibly thin, but Bunny always cuts and styles her hair so it looks twice as full. We love Bunny, and we love our new salon. Also, the woman who shampooed me gave me a great scalp/​neck/​shoulder massage. You have got to check out this hidden gem and ask for Bunny. You’ll feel rejuvenated and lovely when you walk out.

I have been looking for a stylist in NJ for the past 7 years who would listen to what I wanted and who knew how to cut fine hair.
I have been to Natalie at Changes three times now. Twice for a haircut and once for a partial highlight. I have been thrilled with the results. She gives me the cut I want (not what she thinks I should have) and it always grows out wonderfully (read it last a long time). My highlights look natural and even. No stripes or clumping.
If you have struggled to find someone to give you a great cut I would recommend stopping in to see Natalie. She is a great person and has done a great job for me.
