History
Established in 1927.
The King Frederik Inn is culturally appropriate being named after King Frederik of Denmark. The Royal Family has visited Solvang many times, just recently during the Centennial Celebration for Solvang in 2011.
The Hotel sits on the former site of Nielsen’s Building Materials, a lumber yard servicing the original settlers in Solvang during the early 1900’s. The hotel was built and is owned by the same family representing four generations of Danish family born here in Solvang. The family built and still owns the Pea Soup Andersen’s Inn located in Buellton that is the gateway to Solvang and Santa Ynez Valley Wine Country.
