Kristin is fantastic! Finally! Finally, someone to trust with long naturally curly hair. She brought my curls back to life with a curly girl haircut and gave me beautiful highlights. Great results. Also, she is very nice and professional. I am going to Kristin from now on.

Kristen saved my hair over 14 years ago. I called Deco after a stylist in Del Mar ruined my hair with continual bleaching. I had no idea what she had in that mixing bowl of hers but after 1 year my hair was done — fried and breaking off. This stylist kept telling me it was the hard water here in Solana Beach — yah right. Anyway Kristen was a godsend and nurtured my hair back to health which took a good 6 months. This was back in April of 2001. Kristen is professional, knowledgeable and a hoot to hang with. My worst nightmare will be when she hangs up her color books and her scissors. LOVE love you Kristen

I have VERY coarse and VERY thick dark wavy hair, which is rather unruly and frizzy. When it’s straightened and styled, it looks great. When I let it dry on its own, ‘Cousin It’ comes to mind. After many years of bad at-​home-​dyes and bad stylists, I came to Kristen Tucker with some pretty damaged hair. It was darker than my original color and had illogical layers from bad cuts. She immediately set up a plan to get rid of my inky hair and bring it back to its natural color and lustre over a period of sessions. ‘Pulling color’ in one session is not healthy and she refused to compromise the integrity of my hair. I stuck with her and I was sooooo glad I did. Even when I was pushing 7 weeks in between cuts, it still layed and looked beautiful and natural.
I had some financial issues at one point and had to cut my splurges for one year, which my haircuts with Kristen were included. Oh dear, it was not worth it by any means. I basically came back to her one year later with damaged hair again. For her level of hair care and experience, her prices are comparable to many other stylists in the San Diego area for a dcut and color.
Last but not least, she’s an absolute hoot to hang with and shoot the shinny with. It’s always a form of therapy when I go to her.

Shout out to my wonderfully talented studio roommate Kristin Tucker. I’ve loved sharing our space with you and your lovely curly headed Deva Curl Ladies. I noticed a «less than positive» posting from a woman who once listed stellar raves about you and decided to discount her here because I know better. One bad apple don’t spoil the whole bunch, Girl.

Mina Whang at Deco is a total godsend! This woman is a creative genius. I seriously have had people constantly telling me, completely spontaneously without any prompting from me, that my hair color is amazing. She has been doing my hair for years. Finally finally finally I don’t have to keep moving around trying to find someone that «gets» my hair. She cuts its perfect, colors it perfect and I highly totally absolutely recommend her!!!

Kristen helped me love my hair again! She gave me the best cut I’ve had in ten years. You know the feeling when you can’t wait to wash and style it again because the length and layers have been expertly cut? This is the feeling I’ve been missing for so long! Kristen Tucker is pure MAGIC with hair! I came to her 10 years ago with the worst hair cut I’ve ever had. It seems that most hair stylist’s have no idea how to cut and style curly/​wavy hair. I came to her in tears and I left feeling beautiful again. She is a curly hair specialist and is a master at what she does. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to love their curly/​wavy hair. She can transform you into a beautiful hair Diva! I can not say enough about her :)

Linda Olson has been coloring and cutting my hair for 15 + years. Not only is she a master with color, her hair cuts never seem to impress me. I give her full reign over my hair. Randy @ Deco has been coloring my hair for years. He is confident and knows just what to do so I can relax and enjoy a good gossip magazine. When he highlights my hair it is always close to the scalp and he is always on time, which makes it easier to sneek away from work and get my hair done on lunch break!

Laura has been doing my hair for 10 years and I am never disappointed. I get compliments on the color even when I am really needing a touch-​up.

Garrett is top notch! He has been cutting my hair for a couple years and has never let me down. I cant say that about the other place !!! … He really knows his stuff and has a great personality too … Marty

I’ve had my hair done by Garrett Ota at Deco Hair Studios for years. What I love is that in the early years I would ask for a cut or color and when I walked out it was picture perfect. Now I trust him so much that I’ve given him complete control of my hair styles and colors and I’ve never been happier! I love the fact that when he styles my hair, he asks what my plans are for the day and checks the weather to see what style will hold up best for the day. No matter where I go when I leave the salon after an appointment, people comment on my look and it feels great!!!
