I ordered cupcakes and 30 macaroons for a baby shower 5 days before the party. I ordered them in baby blue, silver and white to match the colors of the party. The night before the party I went in to pick them up. The lady at the counter tells me they didn’t do the macaroons because they didn’t have the right colors. Then she hands me a box of uncolored macaroons. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen uncolored macaroons, but they look like a lump of beige dough. I would never serve them at a beautiful, elegant shower. I was blown away… I asked why no one called me to tell me so I could make other arrangements and she told me «Well, it’s not my fault.» Really? I don’t care whose fault it is and I don’t care what the excuse is… I care that I have a party of 18 people and have a couple of teeny tiny mini cupcakes to serve. The macaroons were the «main event» in terms of dessert. Then the lady calls the owner who also tells me it’s not her fault and keeps wanting to explain to me on the phone what the excuse is and why it is not her problem… No apology, no solution… Just some worthless excuses and a couple of very rude «not-​my-​problem» responses. In addition, the cupcakes were stale and the frosting tasted like plastic.
I decided to use My Cakes because I live in the neighborhood and wanted to use a local company, even though the shower was in Medina. I would never use My Cakes again… I am a terrible baker, but given the option of ordering through My Cakes or baking my own I would take my chances and bake my own desserts.

Love Cynthia and I think she’s super talented. However deadlines aren’t her thing which can be a huge problem in the event business. I would recommend her for birthdays, showers etc… where maybe you can go pick up the cake yourself the day before but not for a wedding and not for delivery. She has «no showed» a few friends I referred (for appointments) and was also late on a delivery for a friend. She means well, does a great job but I think she’s way too busy (not a bad thing) and needs more staff or help. I recommend her with some reservations. Her cakes are lovely.

We bought cupcakes here just for the Super Bowl. They were really cute. But unfortunately, they tasted terrible. The cake was stale and the frosting had a shortening consistency to it. We ended up throwing them away and whoever does that?! Even my 9 year old said they tasted bad. Sad because I really wanted to like these!

Contacted my cakes Bakery, because last minute I wanted to surprise my father on his Birthday with a cake, and have it sent to his home. This place was perfect and Cynthia was very helpful in getting the cake delivered to my father’s home since he lives close to this Bakery. My idea worked a German chocolate cake along with balloon and card. I really appreciate Cynthia in handling my order over the phone since I am in the SF Bay area she was GREAT! I do recommend her as my father and wife loved the delicious cake and I would order her from her again. Thank you Cynthia! **

So I found Cynthia on Instagram in a desperate search for a local cupcake/​cake/​bakery shop and I am soooooo lucky I found her. SHE IS AMAZING and so are all of her cakes and cupcakes. She has a customer for life!
I work for Nordstrom, so I have a great understanding of customer servive, and I can confidently say that Cynthia went above and beyond to help me out. I needed something special for a friends birhtday two days before the event and Cythia saved my life. I reached out to her via email and she immediatly emailed me back ready to help. She gave me so many options and really understand what I wanted – I wanted something girly and cute – pink with sparkles and fluff and just feminine. Well… Not only did she deliver she made the most beautiful cake ever to go along with the cupcakes. I also tasted her cupcakes and I have tasted almost all the hot cupcake shops in Washington but WOW they were amazing! I had the chocolate coconut and BEST cupcake I’ve had. She also lent me her cupcake stand which was soo sweet of her.
To wrap it up, her cupcake and cake was the talk of the town and everyone thinks they are beautiful.

Unfortunately I chose My Cakes to do my wedding cake and desserts. Started having issues with Cynthia a week before the wedding after I had paid the deposit. She emailed me an invoice asking $ 700 for a cake, plus the amount for my additional desserts. When we met with her I was very clear that I wanted a small cake for 30 – 35 people and 5 different desserts. The cake was not supposed to be for 90 – 95 people like she was trying to sell me a week before the wedding. After that got clarified she sent me another invoice and conveniently forgot to reduce a tax amount from the $ 700 cake down to a $ 300 cake. The worst disappointment came the day of the wedding when my wedding planner and the planner at the location discovered that the cake had sewing pins in it. They discovered two pins, but didn’t know whether there were more; the pins didn’t have a crystal or a pearl on the end and so there was no way to tell where they were. It also came without any instructions letting us know that those pins were inside the cake and how many of them were there and where they all were. They had to throw my wedding cake out completely because it was totally unsafe to serve. None of my guests had any cake and I was only able to get a small bite that we used for cake cutting after it was thoroughly inspected by multiple people to make sure there were no pins in it. When my wedding planner contacted Cynthia asking about a refund on the cake only, I wasn’t even asking for the refund on the other desserts, Cynthia at first refused to do so and was rude and unaccomodating. This is very unfortunate because I really wanted to like this bakery and picked it myself after trying one of their cakes at a friend’s birthday party. I would not recommend this bakery for a wedding or any kind of event.

Cynthia did my wedding. I love her and her personality — she is truly great at creating cakes of people’s dreams but I have a problem with the communication I had with her. It was a constant struggle to get ahold of her. The shop was never open on time when we went — the first time we showed up at 11 when they said they opened. Called and called and called and someone finally answered at 11:30 and opened the doors. The first tasting we had she wasn’t there and had an employee that although she was friendly couldn’t convey the message so we left. When I schedule an appointment with someone I expect them to be there or at least be told that she would join us later. I didn’t realize until she called me later that the employee was suppose to have us start the tasting and she would be joining later.
I would give 3.5 stars but I can’t and her cakes/​desserts are amazing so bumping it up instead of down.

I’ve had these cakes before the shop. I am so happy to what Cynch has done. The most amazing tasting cake, cupcakes, and whatever she touches.
I live on the East Coast which I guess is good for my waist line, otherwise this may be a daily stop.
Of all the famous cupcake bakeries, and other tv show bakeries, Cynch puts them to shame.

I had the best baby shower cake ever! It was the hit of the party. SO incredibly cute and perfectly decorated to fit my theme. Plus, it was super yummy!
My sister ordered the cake and, even though she lives in CA, she said it was easy peasy to work with Cynthia via email on size, flavors (with my guidance after trying a bunch of cupcakes), theme, colors, and pricing.

We were visiting the area and wanted a late night burst of sugar… The cupcakes were tasty and our little one loved his Santa pop (a little cake ball painted red on the end of a stick).
My issue would be with the staff and the layout of the store. To clarify —
I am not sure what the young man who helped me said. I asked him several times to repeat what he said but I just didn’t catch what he was saying. The layout of the counter and cases didn’t help at all.
Imagine squeezing yourself into an eye dropper and then have to turn around to go backwards to the cash register. As you walk in, there are four slushie machines on the counter, a cotton candy machine, etc and the cupcake case is at the very end of the nearly triangular shaped room. About a foot from the front of the case, are several pieces of furniture… A sofa, a loves eat, coffee table, etc. so, you have to squeeze through the maze of furniture while passing the customer ahead of you who is heading to the cash register.
My point being, thanks for hanging in there with me, is that if you a cupcake bakery, you should greet your customers with a tantalizing display of sugary goodness.

I’ve purchased two cakes from here, one off the shelf and the other a custom order, and have been impressed with both the price and quality. The owner worked really hard to come up with the perfect custom cake for my occasion and the price was really reasonable for a delicious cake.

My husband brought some home for me so I can’t say how the shop was. He said it was nice.
So for the cupcakes they looked really pretty. Got a lemon, one covered in Oreos and a caramel something. Sorry didn’t get the full names.
They were good but not amazing. I personally thought they tasted artificial.
The lemon one was really bland, with a hint of fake lemon. The other two were better.
Overall ok cupcakes but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get more.

Cynch is a genius! Her baking skills surpass any other. I found her while scoping out the retailers on the Ridge for a coupon booklet I was making for our employees when our company moved into the area. When I met Cynch, I was impressed with her passion for anything cake, especially cupcakes.
I am not typically a cupcake eater. I find them flat and boring. Then she had me try her vanilla bean — OMG! Best cupcake I’ve ever eaten! While we were chatting, our wedding came up and she showed me her display books. Brought some cakes home for my honey to try — done deal. We were having cupcakes with a little round on top for our wedding.
Our wedding was two days ago. Those cupcakes were a smash — all of our guests loved them! Kept going back for more. And as guests were leaving and we were asking them to take leftovers home with them, the number one thing everyone wanted was cupcakes. We had very little left over.
As for service? Beyond anything I’ve come across; since ours was a DIY backyard wedding, I was pretty frazzled the last week before the big day and totally forgot to email the address to where she was to deliver the cupcakes. After being unable to reach me on my cell (no bars where I was!), she called my work and found someone who was coming and got the address from them. She still showed up on time, even though I did not get that address to her.
How many businesses do you know that would go that mile?

I received an exceedingly kind email from the owner of MyCakes. Her response went above and beyond. She clearly loves her bakery and pours a lot of soul into it. I look forward to visiting MyCakes again.

This review is for a birthday cake that Cynthia made for my daughter. She can make a simple design so very cute! I had 2 «My Little Pony» figurines to put on her cake. I wanted something really simple and Cynthia put a really adorable rainbow on the cake and it was decorated with cute little flowers all around. The cake was FABULOUS!!! I requested white cake with lemon filling and whipped cream layers. OHMYGOODNESS! The cake was so moist; perfect. The filling was perfect — not too sweet and heavy. I will be ordering this cake again for her second birthday party with family.
BTW. last year we ordered a chocolate cake with whipped cream filling and layers of fresh banana. Everyone raved about that one too and loved it. She decorated it with Yo Gabba Gabba theme and it rocked! She is very creative and friendly to work with and super sweet!

I found Cynthia at the bridal expo last march when I was searching for my wedding this past February, I tried cupcake after cupcake, after cupcake… all tasted the same… nothing impressive about them.
What first attracted me to Cynthia was her display, GORGEOUS! Crystal cylinders with mirrors and the cupcakes sitting on top in all different shapes and sizes, I was very impressed and hadn’t even tasted her product. When I put the cupcake in my mouth, I thought I had died and gone to heaven! SO MOIST, SO YUMMY, I told Cynthia, «You must have put cocaine in these»! I immediately made an appt for me and my now husband to do a taste testing. He was blown away to, and after the first bite of his cupcake, he said «Your hired». We ordered close to 700 cupcakes for our big day. Cynthia did not disappoint. On the day of our wedding, the cupcake table was ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Cynthia did the most amazing job and to this day, people are still raving about our cupcakes at our wedding!
We have since be back to order baby shower cakes and I’m sure many more will follow! Cynthia has ruined cupcakes for me now… I will only eat hers. I tried a cupcake at confetti cupcakes… one bite and I spit it out… they are garbage compared to My Cakes!!!
It’s worth the drive and your time to go to My Cakes… you will never go to another bakery after just 1 time of trying hers… PROVE ME WRONG!

Never have I been in a yummy situation and didn’t know what to do! I mean everywhere I looked, I felt like Charlie in a delicious chocolate factory, there’s so much goodness in this shop I didn’t know where to start!
You’ve gotta try the earl grey tea caupcake and the caramel one too! These are the tastiest cupcakes I’ve ever tasted, literally EVER. I could get stuck in here overnight and eat everything in sight, I meanI literally could… have you been here yet??? Worth the drive from Bellevue!
