Building a solid foundation for both horse and owner!

If you feel like you’ve tried everything with your horse, don’t give up yet. The answer is here! We provide private training right at your home or facility. Whether it’s a colt that needs that first ride, rehabilitation of a rescue horse with a questionable background, or a pasture pet that’s been idle for a couple of years, we can establish a solid foundation. This foundation is what many horses are missing and is often the cause of behavior challenges, confidence issues, and barriers to a partnership with your horse. It’s never too late for your horse to become more relaxed and respectful. We offer a proven, effective, and results-​based approach that just works! We also teach basic horsemanship skills at the same time to help you build a strong leadership role with your horse.

Meet the Business Owner

Eric N.

Business Owner

Eric Neilsen grew up in Central Oregon with horses and ranching as a way of life.

Eric enlisted in the US Navy and entered the US Navy SEAL program. Out of the 120 men that started the eight month training course, only 18 made it to the end, Eric earned top honors and was Honorman of BUD’S Class 186. He served his country for eight years as a member of the US Navy SEAL Teams. After the military, Eric and his family moved to the Pacific Northwest and started Eagle Rock Ranch located in the high country of Aeneas Valley. As the ranch grew, Eric went back to what he loved most, working with and training horses.

Eric graduated from Mission Farrier School with a world class education in hoof science and Natural Balance principles. Today Eagle Rock Ranch now produces some of the finest cattle in the northwest and Eric is a full-​time professional horse trainer, farrier, and teaches horsemanship.
