History
Established in 2010.
The Gated Sanctuary was created for the person who is looking to renew themselves through relaxation, reconnecting with the Earth, or pain management. We have the feel of a natural Japanese hot springs with a polished décor.
Our emphasis is on therapeutic massage therapy and hydrotherapy. We’re on six acres in a secluded and peaceful setting located in the countryside of Snohomish County, about 20 minutes East of Everett and 45 minutes North of downtown Seattle. We’ve created a sanctuary filled with Southeast Asian treasures and antiques.
Our Kneipp Hydrotherapy Circuit is clothing optional and features the latest in Jacuzzi technology. Set outside on a beautiful private deck surrounded by old growth cedar trees and life size Buddhas, you can relax in our jetted warm or hot pools. Cool off in our redwood Alaskan cold plunge. Enjoy our eucalyptus chromotherapy steam room.

Meet the Business Owner
Frederick S.
Business Owner
Established in 2010 The Gated Sanctuary is the vision of Frederick Steffen. Frederick recently celebrated his 30th anniversary of being licensed as a massage practitioner in Washington. But his experience with massage goes much farther back than 30 years. When he was 9 his mother had him trained in massage so he could help relieve some of her symptoms from Multiple Sclerosis. Since this training as a child, Frederick has developed his intuitive talent for massage and has specialized in a combination of Eastern and Western deep tissue techniques. Our staff of licensed massage therapists are highly talented and skilled and will customize their massages to your needs.
Frederick began to envision The Gated Sanctuary more than 20 years ago. He’s always enjoyed bathing in the open air of a natural hot springs. His vision of a tranquil place for people to gather to heal themselves in the outside air and to relax through massage and hydrotherapy is finally a reality.
