Tailz On Trailz

We used to use another pet sitter and our cats didn’t seem to do well, which initially we attributed to the stress of having us leave. One of our cat was losing a drastic amount of weight and his stress was triggering digestive issues he deals with. We stopped using this service when we came home early, and came home to find evidence that our previous pet sitter wasn’t showing up as expected.
And that is how I know that I’m getting what we pay for with Kaz and Anders. The same stress-​prone cat does well under their care and Kaz even sends us pictures of him being visibly relaxed with them. We used to come home to cats who seemed desperate for our attention and now they’re only disappointed that it’s «just» us.
These folks aren’t just operating a side business, they truly love animals and are so considerate about your preferences and privacy when it comes to your home and your pets. In their hands, your animals will be as well cared for as if you were home. And in some cases, probably even better.

We had to find a pet-​sitter/​dog walker for our three cats and one dog with two days notice for 10 days! Kaz and Anders were great — super flexible, reliable, and sent us regular email updates, photos and when we got home detailed reports on every day of our absence. They even had to give my dog medication on a shifting schedule and did so without any issue. Most importantly — the animals were well-​loved. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again — the price was right and the service above and beyond. I think my dog is missing Kaz! We will definitely use them again and recommend them to friends!

Kaz and her husband Anders have been our only choice in pet sitters for over a year. They are everything my husband and I could ever want in a pet sitter. When we met the first time, I was impressed by their professionalism: they had a binder of information about their business and their qualifications and even gave me references. They were also incredibly sweet to our two cats — and let me tell you, that is not easy. One of the cats is a cranky jerk and the other one is usually petrified of new humans. But somehow, Kaz has me convinced that they are the most lovable creatures ever. I love that!
We had worried about leaving our two «old ladies» alone when we traveled, especially because they are on special diets and both require medications. Now we don’t worry at all. Kaz and Anders are 100% trustworthy. Kaz always responds to my emails within 24 hours (and usually only an hour or two), and has ALWAYS been available to visit our cats in our home when we’re gone. On every trip, she sends me a few pictures of the kitties in their usual routines, which is so fun. If there’s anything out of the ordinary in the cats’ behavior (even if it’s just a hairball), Kaz lets me know right away. She also writes a note every day she visits and leaves it on the kitchen counter. It’s such a treat to come home after over a week or more away and read a little narrative about what the kitties were doing while we were gone.
Before I found Tailz on Trailz, I worried about giving strangers access to our home, but they make me feel at ease. On our first meeting, they stressed that they would respect our home and our privacy and have followed through with that promise. For example, on the last trip, they noticed we had left the bedroom door closed and the cats were whining about it. Before opening it, Kaz sent me a note to ask if she could. I really appreciate that level of thoughtfulness!

Kaz is truly fantastic! She leaves daily notes on the adventures she has with our dog, Lucy. Kaz provides a nice variety of exercise and training to continually stimulate and challenge Lucy. Additionally, she provides taxi services for Lucy out to the boarding facility as needed, which sure makes our lives easier. It’s also obvious that Kas genuinely cares about Lucy and that is priceless. Outstanding service and very reasonable rates!

Update 9÷24÷14: We’ve been using Kaz and Anders for over a year now so it’s time to update my review now that I’m more familiar with their services. These guys are amazing!
We had been hiring another pet sitter for years prior to finding Kaz and Anders, and one of our cats would stop eating, was fearful of strangers, and would get sick (inflammatory bowel disease) in our absence when we hired them. Under the care of Kaz and Anders, he thrives when we’re gone. He now runs to the door to see who’s there when strangers come knocking. You never know, it might be his pet sitters! He eats just fine when we’re gone and instead of being desperate for attention when we return, I think he’s a bit disappointed to see us walk through the door. Our other two cats are a little more laid back, but I feel a lot better knowing they are getting the high level of care provided by Tailz on Trailz. I know my old guy is getting his meds (not so with the old pet sitters.) And I know they visit for quite a long time because we have an alarm that tells us when they come and go. I think our cats get more attention when we’re gone than when we’re home.
They stay in communication to let you know how your pets are doing, leave little notes to let you know what happened every day while they visited, they are very conscientious of your home and will keep an eye out for things that might need done in your absence (like when we forgot to throw out the rotten bananas that I left at the front door for my husband to take out!) They post pictures of the pets they visit on their Facebook page too. It’s kind of fun to see your babies show up there.
Oh, and they will take care of your weird pets too. I have scorpions, praying mantis’, stick bugs, and fish. No problem for Kaz!
Seriously, hire these two. You won’t be sorry.

I was very impressed with Kaz and Anders. They came to our house ahead of time to meet our kitties and talk to us about their care. They spent a lot of time getting to know the kitties. I think this was the first time I actually felt okay leaving my cats to go on vacation. Kaz left nice handwritten notes every day telling us what was going on with the cats that day. The kitties were happy and healthy when we got home and we’ll definitely be using their services in the future.
