Highway 9 Power Equipment

Took my hedge trimmer in to get it repaired. It was the beginning of Summer so the guy told me it would be a long wait. I was fine with that. When they called me weeks later to let me know it was fixed I had my wife pick it up. They had cleaned the carb & told her not to use our own gas/​oil mix. Recommended the higher octane premix you buy at the store. So I went and bought a gallon for $ 30 and filled it up. It started up fine & idled, but when you pulled the trigger to give it gas it would die. I kept trying over & over with the same results. I kept trying to get it to run over the next few weekends. Finally gave up & took it to another repair shop that knows what their doing. Just wasted $ 120 on Highway 9, never use them again.

We were in the middle of a big yard project when out lawn mower stopped working. Another company said they were a few days out. Hwy 9 Power Equipment got our lawn mower fixed the same day with great friendly customer service!

Don’t go here. I had Husqvarna riding mower serviced by this place for 15 years. I thought that their previous work was expensive but adequate. They convinced me that the frequent breakdowns of my mower were because it was «high maintenance.» Stupid me, I never looked under the hood and I simply trusted that the service that I paid for was actually done. I have since come to believe that they charge for services that are not done and are doing the bare minimum to get the mower running. After all, if they do a crappy job, then you will just be back again for the next breakdown. The last straw was getting a mower back that didn’t start. We got it started ourselves and find out the blades that don’t engage. The excuse was that it sat too long. Ok… I can buy that for the battery but I can’t buy it for the blades not engaging. I called and said that I had paid $ 200 to get my mower running and the first time I try to use it the blades don’t engage. What a rip-​off. When suggesting that my mower was returned in non-​working order, I was hung up on. Nice. Anyone know a decent repair shop?

Very happy with this location. Glad that they work on all models as my mower is a bit older. They are busy but got to my mower right when I called them back.

durn thing hasn’t started since I got it home. would have taken it back but didn’t want to get soaked for another $ 200+

I bough a Husqvarna YTH23V48-​CA 48-​Inch Riding Lawn Tractor from
which was shipped to our home. We used it once and the blade became detached. After calling the manufacturer they sent us to Highway 9 Power as an authorized Husqvarna service shop. The Lawn Tractor was still under warranty, however, the manufacturer was going to charge us a pick up and delivery fee in order to get it serviced. Since we didn’t have a way to transport it ourselves we were disappointed to hear we would have to pay extra just to repair it. Highway 9 went to bat for us and explained to Husqvarna the situation and were able to waive the transportation fees. They fixed the lawn tractor in a timely and professional manner and I would use them again for future service needs.

Is there a way to give negative stars? My 84 year old father took a Poulan chainsaw to Highway 9 Power Equipment in Snohomish, WA for repairs. According to my Dad they told him that they had spent around three hours working on it and that his repair bill would be nearly $ 300 which is probably about what he paid for it in the first place. To make matters worse, they said that it was not reparable and that they had put it back together and tried to start it and when it didn’t they looked and found that something was warped, rendering it inoperable. My thought is that if they were able to find the problem so quickly after reassembling it then they should have checked that first before doing whatever they did for the other two hours and forty-​five minutes they claim to have spent on it.
They told him that he had to either pay the money or they would put it towards a new chainsaw. He was also told that he needed to purchase a saw from them because even if he found the same model at Lowe’s or Home Depot it would be of lesser quality because they were mass produced for those stores. He was pressured into buying a Husqvarna 445 which they told him was worth $ 450 and they would lower the price to $ 375 and knock $ 200 off the purchase price for the repair. I looked all over the internet and couldn’t find a price on that saw higher than $ 269 anywhere. They ultimately charged him $ 200 for it.
I called the business to get their side of the story and they went on the defense as soon as I told them the situation I was inquiring about. I take that as guilty behavior. They said that my dad was full of bologna and wouldn’t let me get a word in edgewise. I did not yell and was polite for the duration of the call. They told me that they had only said that they would charge him between $ 15 and $ 17, a huge discrepancy from what my Dad had stated they had quoted him. They then told me that if I wanted to speak about it further I should come down to the store. I advised him that I wanted to tell them what my Dad had said and then hear their side of it. If he couldn’t talk to me on the phone, I would just go ahead and file a report with the Better Business Bureau. At this point he started screaming at me and telling me to go F**k myself at which point I said «goodbye» and hung up.
I am not seeking anything from them. We have the new chainsaw and it works. The reason for my complaint is to warn that this place will not deal honestly with people and manipulated a senior citizen into purchasing something that he could not afford on a fixed income for fear of having to pay a $ 300 repair bill. My dad called me while he was there and I advised him to leave the dead saw there and go so we could study up on the saw that they were trying to sell him. They apparently had him so worried that he bought it anyway for fear of being charged the $ 300 for repairs. I tried to give them a chance to explain their side of the story and they essentially called my dad a liar, wouldn’t let me speak and cursed at me. From my perspective, people and businesses that prey on impressionable senior citizens are evil.
