Sears Auto Center

All I can say is RUDE!!! We were told it would take 2 hours for an oil change. Even thought that’s already insane we accepted and came back 3 hours later, and they hadn’t even started. Ok, so they said it would be done in 15 mins, 40 mins later, nothing. When we asked what was going on and why we were told 2 hours, the employee admitted that they said 2 hours so we wouldn’t have left. He admitted he knew it would have been longer and continued to give us attitude. We went back to sit and wait and we could hear him giving the other customers the same rude tone. Waiting that long I can deal with but one thing I won’t tolerate is being talked to like that by someone receiving my business. DO NOT GO HERE

Loved this place new mechanics are much better than the old ones. I got tired and alignment and brakes at a decent price and the mechanic phillip was very knowledgeable and explained to me exactly what was wrong and he brought me out to the shop and showed me the issues. I never had anyone do that befor i think its great because he shows me whats going on with my car and i can see it with my own eyes. Other places dont do that so u got to assume they are telling you the truth. Well phillip is an amazing mechanic and i will alway bring my car to him and recommend him to everyone

So I took a broken oil filter wrench to be replaced. Sears Craftsman used to have a lifetime warranty on their tools. Well not any more. I was told by the rude manager that I needed my receipt. The broken tool is several years old, so I don’t have the receipt… lifetime means lifetime so to me there warranty doesn’t mean shit. So if they won’t honor the warranty I will never shop at Sears again.

Bad bad bad!!! I called to see if they can align my tires. I gave them the model year etc over the phone and they said yes they can do it. Made my appointment, said it would take about 45 to an hour. No problem, I will wait in the lobby. 2 hours later they come and tell me they can’t do it because my car is german and they don’t have the software for those type of vehicles. (I have a VW Touareg TDI) I was so mad! Why tell me over the phone they can do it, then make me wait two hours then tell me they don’t have the software.

If I could give this shop a negative feed back, I would. Story, we bought 4 «NEW» tires (Goodyear eagle RS-​A) on Monday and by Wednesday morning 2 of my tires were flat, took it back to them and they told me my Tpms sensors where broken (which they broke) Paid for them to replace it and it turned out that the tires had a small tear on the sidewall when they went to put the rites back on. So I waited a day for them to locate the tires and finally got new ones in, 3 days go by and on of the tires had the same problem, so I know they didn’t replace both like they said they did. A week goes by and all I get is the run around. So there is my experience with this shop. THEY ARE COMPLETE GARBAGE! I have contacted corporate to ensure that this doesn’t happen to anyone since it’s an awful experience and a waste of work time and money.

Took my 06 Tacoma truck for an oil change and noticed sludge on the oil cap. I was freaking out so I had to pay Firestone to do a block test thinking it was something serious, comes to find out that Sears installed contaminated oil mixed with water that created this sludge. Had to flush out everything and start over, never again going to Sears.

There are very few places I trust with my car. I drive a beautiful Mustang GT that I treat like a baby that I birthed myself. The first time I took my car into Sears Auto Center, I knew nothing was particularly «wrong» with my vehicle, seeing it had about 18k miles on it or so. I treat my car well and maintenance it even if there is nothing wrong. The technician found nothing wrong with my car, but suggested I might need an alignment in a few months. Yep, an automotive center that is honest about their suggestions and doesn’t try to sell you services your car doesn’t need. Now I see why my father, who is very car savvy, would take his truck into Sears if there was something his car needed as he got older and it got more difficult to work on his vehicles by himself.
The fact that they look at your vehicle at no charge and make any suggestions based on what they find.. . pure effing gold. My Ford dealership wanted $ 105 just to LOOK at my car. Really?! Hell no! Anyways.. . I’ve had a few different mechanics who have worked on my car here at Sears. This last time that I took my car in at 26k miles, my car was having power steering problems. My old power steering fluid was completely flushed out, and new fluid was put in. They found that my air filter was disgusting, so we changed that. We also found that my belt was beginning to crack, but was still in good shape for a while, and my front tire treads were good for a little while longer, but needed to be looked at again soon. It is so nice to be told what my car is in dire need of right now, and what is still considered in good condition, but might need replacing in the near future.
I love watching the guys work on my car. They tell me what they’re doing, what they find, and we just shoot the shit and have fun while my car is being worked on. I also love talking smack to the guy who’s got a V6 Mustang that he needs to get a V8! :P All very good natured mechanics, fun to talk to, and very good at what they do. My car has been running so smoothly with no power steering problems and it seems like my car is running better in general after my check up. I am extremely pleased with my service here, and I will not be going anywhere else.
I’ll be coming in today to treat them to some tasty snacks for taking care of me and my car.
UPDATE: It has been 3 months now, and the original problem I brought my car in has not popped up again. Thank God! Not being able to turn your car because your power steering goes out on you is scary! An added bonus: my MPG has gone up since the mechanic noticed, and replaced, my filthy air filter. Woot!

There seems to always have a long wait here and they don’t have a number system or distinct line for service so the customers often gets confused on who should be helped next.

Terrible service! Went in for an oil change and no one spoke to me in 30 mins. People were walking around confused due to lack of employees to help. Stay away!

Decided it was time to get an oil change bright and early. Glad I did cause service was pretty fast and Tom was very friendly.
