Robin at Souther Curl is amazing. Her and her assistant Beth truly know the ins and outs of curly hair. They throughly explained everything and gave me curly hair education and background which I appreciated. They didn’t push the products they sold on me– they just used them in my hair to show me how they worked and let me make the decision about purchasing. I will say that with the cut/​treatment of my hair and the knowledge they provided I did purchase all the products. I’ve been using them since and my hair has been looking better and better. After my amazing experience I sent my mother as well. She has curls but a different texture and she looked as great as I did after visiting them. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to follow the curly method and wear their natural wash and go hair. It may be expensive but it is 100% worth it for healthy manageable wash and go hair. Just had my first cut with Robin at Southern Curl. Anyone with curly hair knows – finding a good stylist is a beast of a search. Robin is great. She has a lot of specialized training in cutting curly hair, has curly hair herself, and ONLY cuts curly hair. She does all types of curls and was a total professional in all ways. She does the ‘dry cut’ method, which is the only way I’ll allow my hair to be cut. We did a phone consultation before my appointment, she asked me to send her pictures of my hair in advance of our appointment, and then we talked AGAIN at the appointment before she started cutting. My hair is very bulky, thick, and long – but Robin wasn’t at all intimidated, like most stylists usually are. We did before and after pictures, which I thought was a nice touch, and after my appointment they wrote me a «curly hair prescription» which included all of the products they used, what amounts, and in what order so that I could duplicate my look at home if desired. I will definitely return to her, though she did mention that their studio is about to relocate – I think she said midtown off 75. It was a tad expensive – but it’s worth it to me to know I’m in good hands and don’t have to watch the stylist like a hawk every second.
