The worst experience ever! She ruined my curls! she asked me if I wanted a hair treatment that would help keep my hair healthy little did I know it was a hair dye! Don’t trust Kristen with your hair! She does not know how to cut curly hair properly! If I could I would give her no stars!

Let me start off by saying that I did get a nice haircut from Kristen today. A lot shorter than I wanted but she spent a lot of time and care on my hair and it looks good. Her and her staff were super friendly and down to earth. Her salon in tasteful and refreshing. My only issue was at checkout. They would not honor my Scoutmob discount which is honestly the main reason I choose this salon. When I made my appointment I was sure to mention that I was using the 50% off Scountmob discount(up to $ 40). Women’s haircuts are listed at $ 55-$ 90 so I had expected to pay up to $ 50 but ended up having to pay $ 80 for my haircut today. Even if I did get her signature C-cut $ 100(although Kristen told the receptionist that she didn’t do the c-cut on me today) it still should have come to $ 60 not $ 80. My issue is that if you don’t want people using coupons you probably shouldn’t offer them. It’s too bad because I really do like my haircut but I probably won’t be going back due to poor customer care.

Went here 3 yrs ago. I got a highlights at this salon by Kristen and they turned out okay. Not something amazing but just a normal color. I have dark brown/almost black hair and they were very subtle. i dont think anyone noticed. Would’nt return for the price I paid there. Thankfully has a Scoutmob.

Had a really great cut today from Kristina(spelling?) here! I had an emergency fix up after a disastrous haircut from myself, and I was really pleased with the result! Kristina also gave me tips on how to style and manage my new short hair, and I’m looking forward to following her advice. My only concern is that this salon might be a little pricey– their cuts go from $ 55 and up. With the Scoutmob, I feel like it’s very reasonable, but it might be a little too high for me to come to regularly. Also had a brow waxing done here– really great job as well :)

What a refreshing and wonderful experience I had today at this cute salon! My past experiences using Scoutmob at hair salons have been abysmal. It was the opposite at Kristen James. I was welcomed in by Kristen and Krystyna. I loved that they listend to me and really had a thorough understanding of what I wanted. Kristen took her time cutting my hair, making sure she did an excellent job and that I was pleased with the result. The blue hue and relaxing music sets the mood for a relaxing experience. And they are super friendly not at all condescending like those jerks at some of the Buckhead salons. Love this place and I’ll definitely be back!

Passed this place several times and didn’t notice it was a hair salon. Great atmosphere — quaint, not too big but not cramped either. While cutting my hair she spoke with her associate teaching her a particular technique. Her associate is referred to as the«blow out queen». I’ll be back to check that out. As for hair, Kristen is now my girl. Reasonable price for a great cut. She’s a mom, her shop is clean, her staff is cool, and its not stuffy.(go!)

I wanted to let the world know how great this place is, and what a wonderful job Serena did! I also wanted to spread the word that this place is not only for those with the curly locks. i have long, thick, straight blond hair and both the cut and color just were spot on. I was a little worried since I read the reviews and they were all based on curls. Please give her a try, you won’t be disappointed! She also opened an hour early for me, can’t say enough…

I have been looking for a great salon closer to my home for a while now, and I have found a new hair home! Serena is so personable, and she gave me one of the best hair cuts I have had in a while. I have thick, kind of wavy hair that can get pretty heavy and unmanageable. Serena knew exactly how to tame my mane. The layers are perfect and it takes me no time at all to style it because the cut is so perfect. The atmosphere in the salon is really warm and relaxing with great music and décor. If you are looking for a great high end, but still laid back salon, you should try Kristen James Studio. I am looking forward to my next visit!

If you have curly hair, Kristen knows her stuff. I am super happy with the cut and the time Kristen put into showing me how I could repeat her styling results at home with a minimal amount of product. Nice long spiral curls, no frizz, no obvious«gel cast» No need to go anywhere else!

I have been going to Kristin for about 2 years and she has truly tamed my out of control frizzy curls. Thank you Kristen!

Kristen is the high priestess of curly hair! I have been bouncing around from one hair cutter to another for years, trying to find someone who really knows what to do with my type of hair. She has developed her own technique of cutting for curls and it works like magic. I have thin, fine, curly hair and it has never looked better. Atlanta’s humid climate actually works in my favor now. She recommended appropriate products that really work, and are available inexpensively at Ulta and at Whole Foods. I am frizz-free. My hair looks great! The only time I looked good before was when I had my hair blown out straight. Now I love being curly. She has also given me the prettiest color I have ever had, although it took a second try. She was very accommodating when I was unhappy with the way it came out and had me come back in immediately to be redone. If you have wavy, curly or kinky hair, do your self a favor and put yourself in Kristin’s chair. Her signature cut, called a «C-cut» is $ 100 and takes about 40 minutes. Regular cuts are $ 70, which I have been getting as trims after my initial c-cut about every 8 – 12 weeks.
