Another successful meal here. I prefer the wings, hubby prefers Buffalo chicken sandwich. Fast service and hot food

Zero stars. Filthy and greasy inside and outside. Dirty windows, disgusting greasy kitchen, and empty dirty tables. Live nearby so I decided to go in for a slice of pizza. Always wondered why I never see patrons in there. Got up to the register, saw the kitchen and then I walked out. Nasty. There’s garbage on the ground near the dumpster area too.

So I was thinking that this place would have bin a most come and eat at. But I think I might have bin wrong. «It does happen once in a while» any ways back to reviewing this location. I can’t stand when I come to a pizzeria and they have a few pies pre cooked sitting on a counter top or pizza rack. This one had 5 pizzas just sitting. I mean if you want to be a great pizzeria. Pizzas should be freshly made and not hope that you sell them in X amount of time. Second thing«she is a lovely girl, but dam take your headphones out of your ear!» You are supposed to be working not socializing with your contacts. I wish I could have said she was the only one but the one cook was doing the same thing with pecking away at his phone. I am sure that has to be some food and safety violation. What gets me is that the kitchen looked dirty from where I was sitting at. I could see garbage, dirt, and grease. So, I ate and the more I saw the more I wanted to get the hell out of here. Food wasn’t good and the kitchen and staff had to many issue.

I’ve given up on this location. The pizza and stromboli are soggy, and frequently burned on the bottom. Salads are a joke and overpriced. Pasta meals are mediocre and garlic toast is always burnt. Save yourself the heartburn, at least at this location.

The service at the place can be hit or miss depending on when you go. However, hubby and I are normally pleased every time. The décor is pretty run down and old looking, and it always looks just a little dingy. Bottom line, the food is good and consistent. The prices are pretty average for this type of establishment — $ 26 for a medium pizza, garlic knots and two drinks.

This place is clean and the staff is very friendly but the pizzas are AWFUL!!! Its nothing like any of the other johnnys locations. This was one of the worst pizzas i have ever had to pay for. The sauce was okay but it was too much of it on the Pizza. It was drowning in cheese i had to take most of it off(and im a cheese lover!!!), the dough was a kind weird mess. I feel so bad for the staff, we were in there on a friday evening and the place was empty. They need new cooks in there or someone from the other johnnys need to go in there and teach them how to make the pizzas the right way. Like this i dont see this place surviving and its sad because i really love johnnys.

My friend and I ordered a large barbecue chicken pizza and a Greek salad to go. When we arrived to pick it up 15 miinutes after we had place the order via the phone, we were rudely told by the guy making the pizza that it would be ready in 15 minutes. They were not busy, so I’m unsure why it took so long to make the pizza. We waited at a table for approximately 25 minutes before our pizza was ready. Once I got home and began to eat the pizza, I realized that it had marinara sauce on it. Marinara should not be on a barbecue chicken pizza. The pizza guy had taken a cheese pizza and tossed drops of barbecue sauce, chicken and onions instead of making our pizza from scratch correctly. The chicken did not taste like chicken and was horrific. This was the worst pizza I have every eaten. This was nothing like the barbecue chicken pizzas I have had from other locations. I am still puzzled as to why it took 40 minutes to make(not from scratch) this crappy pizza. I will never return to this location even if they gave me free pizza. I spent more that $ 30 bucks at this place, but never again.

Went for lunch and had 2 slices of pepperoni and water(soda was included in the special) for just over $ 6. Pizza was a little small for«New York Style», and it was a little light on the sauce. Other than that it was pretty good. Menu options looked good and the lunch specials are nice. Service was fast and friendly. I gave it 3 because that’s average to me. Not great, not bad, but I’ve had better.

The best thing about Johnny’s? They deliver. And any pizza place that isn’t Dominos, etc, who delivers is indeed A-OK in my book! I have had Johnny’s several times in the past couple of weeks and enjoyed what I had– one night a spinach calzone(yummy and sizeable) and then slices with cheese and extra cheese and mushroom with extra cheese(also yummy and very big — think Fellini’s size). On the whole, the only real negatives are that they consider mushrooms a «specialty topping» and charge $ 0.95 versus«standard toppings» which are $ 0.55, and that the pizza, etc arrives not quite hot enough so if you only have a microwave, it’s not as good heated up a bit as an oven. Also, I found it a little pricey given I can’t eat all in one sitting and I’m not good about eating leftover pizza products when all I have is a microwave(are you picking up on my frustration with micro-only«cooking»??). Decent place to use if you’re in the Smyrna/adjacent Marietta area.

This location’s management, service, & décor aren’t the best in comparison to the other Johnny’s New York Style Pizza restaurants. The pizza is great, but I’m a stickler for customer service. Even though this location is very close to my house, I will never go back based on the service alone. Managers/owners with attitudes, and an employee talking smack to said manger/owner in front of a customer is not a good look. Ever. Like I said, great pizza. But service. Nah.

Johnny’s New York Style Pizza is just another, average pizza place in Atlanta. I came in for lunch for some slices. They have a lunch special where you can get 2 slices and a drink for like $ 6. You can also get 1 slice and a drink for like $ 4. So if you’re close by, it’s not a bad deal for lunch. On their menu, they said all of their items are freshly made. I’m not sure what they mean by that because the slices looked like it was re-heated. I guess they made it fresh when they pre-made it. The slices were okay. It seemed comparable to the other million pizza places that offer slices for lunch. The cheese didn’t taste stale. The slices looked big enough. Overall, it was an okay slice. They now have a gluten free crust option, which all pizza places are getting into, if you’re gluten sensitive.

Still on the look for great pizza I guess. I see their billboard on Windy Hill every morning on my way to work. Looks great but far from it. We came on Friday(ok, guess it’s a busy time to go) but the waitress was slower than molasses and messed up our entire order. Took 20 min to get our drinks, by the time they arrived all the ice was melted in our«ice water». It took the same amount of time for our appetizer to get, then we got the wrong one. More of our party arrived and we were ready to order. We had 7 people total and at least 3 of us got the correct one. She was incredibly slow the entire time and kept getting things wrong. Well, to top off our visit she got our tickets wrong. And she had to fix all of our receipts. As far as the food goes, the Bruschetta was good. Mozzarella sticks would be good if they came out hot. The pizza crust to me was too thick and very bland with not a lot of toppings. Even the Italian sausage was egh… :(Appetizers were too small for the $. Won’t be back! Anyone know of a good pizza joint in Smyrna let me know! ;)

What can I say, I’m a sucker for a good slice and this place has got it. The whole pizza is consistently better than their«by the slice» lunch option but even that’s pretty darn good. They recently improved their lunch side salad a bit but it’s noticable and a welcome improvement.

This glowing review applies only to this location. I know they are a franchise but there is significant variation between this location and others I have tried. The pizza is great and they do not skimp on the toppings. The salad is nicely made with a modicum of care and doesn’t look like it was dumped out of a industrial salad bag. The lunch specials are a good value… I had two slices(about the size of half a pizza) and a salad for $ 7.95. I work in the oppressive office park close by and we frequently get pizza from this location for office celebrations or «work through lunch and like it» meetings.

I ordered Johnny’s while I was staying with a friend and I’ve gotta say it’s pretty solid pizza. We got two mediums one was the Johnny’s Special with Canadian bacon, sausage, blah, blah, blah… it’s was loaded that’s all I know. The other medium had pepperoni, onion and banana peppers. They were both loaded with cheese and toppings, the crust was crunchy and tender in the center and the sauce was tasty. I also ordered some Buffalo Chicken strips that came with fries. They were pretty good too. All in all really good pizza. My only complaint was the price. For two mediums albeit loaded, and the chicken strips, it was about $ 45 out the door which is a little steep for non-deep dish pies but worth a try for sure.

I first took notice of this particular location of Johnny’s a few years ago when I was dating a girl who lived in nearby Mableton. This restaurant was the closest decent place that served pitchers of beer. Located in a strip hopping center, at the corner of Highlands Ridge and the East-West Connector, alongside Subway, Waffle House, and a Thai Restaurant(I think named Curry Curry). Years later I now work for a company located very close to this location. Johnny’s is not the closest pizza joint near my office. Nor does it have the best pizza of all the pizza joints near my office. But this place is solid. Very good /solid generously portioned pizza. Good beer selection. Good service with cute waitresses. Inviting interior layout with small but cozy, clean, and new(ish) looking bar area. I ordered the slice of pizza that had Italian sausage, peperoni, Canadian bacon onion, mushroom, onion and green pepper. Can’t remember the name(either Johnny’s Special or Italian Special). Generous slice sizing and generous topping. It was pretty good; comparable to a Fellini’s Special slice. Also got a salad with(single serving package of) blue cheese dressing. and a single serving package of crackers. Very average salad if not outright underwhelming. Also got a coke to wash it all down; perfectly carbonated with right amount of ice in a large plastic glass. The bill came out to about ten bucks and change. But I was satisfied with my order. Since this is the second closest pizza place near my office I will likely be back often. I am a fan. Perhaps really deserves 3.5 stars; however, boring salad will keep it at three.

I’m a fan of Johnny’s pizza in general(compared to other chain pizza joints) but be warned, it is more expensive than your average Dominoes, Pizza Hut or Papa John’s — and the pizzas DO take a little while to cook(but I’ve never had any problems with to-go orders, or home deliveries). This Smyrna branch is your average, run of the mill Johnny’s. On Sunday’s, it’s the closest pizza place to me that sells beer — bonus if you live in a town that doesn’t allow restaurants to sell booze. Can’t really beat an $ 8 pitcher of Miller Lite with a freshly-baked pie… who’s with me?! There is a super nice, friendly waitress in there(she’s there EVERY time I go) — and she is on-freaking-top-of-it. I was there Sunday and she was waiting the floor by herself. With a large party and several tables besides mine, I never waited for more beer or extra napkins, and when she brought the bill with a to go box, she included lids for the marinara sauce containers. It’s those touches that really deserve the 20%.
