Cobb Galleria Automotive

This has been my favorite auto repair shop in life so far. I found this nearby shop on Unilocal originally, and have loved taking my car here. I’ve found these guys — mostly folks from Georgia — to be very honest and trustworthy. The shop has a very small town feel while being in the very busy area of Cobb Parkway /​Cumberland Blvd, which I appreciate.
I’ve taken three separate vehicles, mostly high mileage vehicles (+/​-​100K miles) and had services range from regular oil changes to more complex. I always appreciate the detail they pay in their multi-​point inspection during oil changes too.
One time, when having the tire pressure monitor sensors replaced on a Honda, they had tried a few times to program the sensors without success. They later discovered that this was a Honda-​specific issue, and required the señor programming tool from a Honda Dealership. So, they suggested that I go to the dealership, and — since they couldn’t fix it — gave me a credit for the cost of the Honda dealership service fee ($ 138).
More complete list of services:
— 2000 Honda S2000 — they serviced the car a few different times, including adjusting the valve timing. They also identified some pretty bad rust on the vehicle that was causing potential issues, which ultimately led me to sell it.
— 2008 Honda Accord EX-​L V6 — changed timing belt, tire pressure monitor senors, and oil changes
— 2008 Lexus IS350 — basic oil changes

I think I got a fair price for a blown fuse. My rear headlights were out. The process took 2 hours made an appointment the day before. I had asked about another electrical issue but they tried to overcharge me instead of replacing the fuse. They are helpful tho.

Towed my car there last night to have a new alternator/​battery installed. Called first thing in the morning to notify me that they had received my car and figured out the problem. By 1pm today, my car was fixed at a decent price, compared to most auto repair shops. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you for being honest and efficient!!!

The mechanics here are wonderful! They found a simple solution to clearing a clogged drain on my Chrysler Sebring (other shops had assured me this would be a very difficult task). These guys are honest and resourceful. I will definitely be back if I have any more car troubles!

I have to give credit where credit is due. I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while now. I’ve been taking my Lexus truck to these guys for years and they really are the BEST. It’s hard to find folks who are honest and really great at what they do when it comes to the car repair business. And they are such nice guys too! I never feel like I’ve been taken advantage of when I leave this shop. Kudos to them for having such an awesome business. They’ve been around since 1971 and they’l be around for many more years to come!

As a result of the positive reviews I saw on Unilocal,I took my car to them hoping they could diagnose my cars problem. Over the last six months my car battery has been dead more times than I want to count. After 2 new batteries and 3 alternators installed by another mechanic, the problem had not been solved. That is when I had the car towed to Cobb Galleria Automotive. They found a simple electrical problem and fixed it quickly. The charge to fix the problem was very reasonable. I found the shop to be clean and the staff was very courtiers. I will definitely be back if and when needed.

Wonderful auto repair shop. I’ve been bringing my cars here for 2 years. They are always courteous and quick and cost effective. A shop you can trust — a necessity for a single woman. Or anyone for that matter!

I’m not sure what star rating to give this shop because there were a couple of good things and bad things about our experience with them. Hopefully I’ll have a better idea by the time I’m done writing this ;-)
My car started overheating recently — really badly — while we were on the highway so we pulled off the road, added some coolant to see if that would do the trick to get us home and after a few attempts to fix the problem and coming up short, we decided to take it to the dealer that was nearest to us at that point. I was a little bummed about this because my regular mechanic is literally about two miles away from me, and I adore and trust them, but we were about 20 miles away from home and I didn’t want to risk driving my car or deal with the cost of towing it. So, I pulled up Unilocal and found Cobb Galleria Automotive and decided to give them a try.
We pulled in on a Saturday afternoon and they took care of us right away. The guy at the counter, Jeremy, was professional and attentive and he said he would give us a call with our estimate, etc. He called on Monday and said I had a crack in my radiator and he quoted me $ 450 to take care of it. I told him to go ahead with the repair, cringing the whole time because I really just need to get a new car soon. I’ve had mine forever and it’s not worth it to pour money into it at this point. When I hung up with Jeremy I called my mechanic down the road and they quoted me $ 200 for the same repair: blinkblink: Say what? So I called Jeremy back just a few minutes later and told him to hold off on the car repair while I got my information together, which he was very understanding about. I did some math and figured a few things out and realized that even with towing my car the cost would be about $ 330.
When my husband called the next day to tell Jeremy we were going to tow the car he said he didn’t remember our conversation or me calling him back to ask him to wait and that they had already finished the repair work. I even checked my phone for the call log just make sure I wasn’t going crazy! (I wasn’t.) But the great thing is he matched the price and offered a discount so we ended up paying the same thing we would have to tow it to the other mechanic, which I really, really appreciated.
I told them I’d get my car a week later because I was going to be out of town and they called me three times in that period to remind me to pick up my car, which is really nice of them, but also a little much?
Despite the couple of bumps, I appreciated how they handled it, especially that they matched the price for us even if he didn’t remember me asking him to wait (which he stated again when I stopped in to pay and get my car). That definitely makes me stand behind the Great Service opinion!

Awesome service. Quick oil change and techs recommended a few things to clean the battery off. Extremely nice! Definitely coming back!

These guys are honest, do great work and have good pricing. It’s difficult to find a good mechanic but these guys are great!

I am very particular about where I bring my car. I did some research and this seems to be one of the better places in the area. I was not disappointed. Nice staff, prompt, fair price. I will return.

It is so hard to find a quality repair shop. Thankfully we have one in our community. The people are great and the service is quick and reliable. I always feel like I’m getting a fair price at this place and that’s nice! If you need to wait for your vehicle, the lobby is clean and has plenty of electrical outlets for electronic devices. The bathroom is always clean and that makes a difference when your waiting at a repair shop for an extended period ! I highly recommend this place.

WOW. I was referred to this auto shop by a fellow at the Sears Auto Center. They are limited in their services and when they can’t take care of something, they recommend this place. My car needed a new starter. When Shawn looked it up and he couldn’t find one nearby he said he would need to keep the car overnight and keep looking. I went home and an hour and a half later he called and said he found one.
The next day my car was ready at 10:45 am. Excellent service, great work and wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

I’m now a huge fan of Cobb Galleria Automotive and plan on going back in the future. I recently moved to Smyrna and I’ve been dealing with squeaky tires for quite some time now. After talking with a couple of people I was getting anxious about what it was going to cost to get my Xterra looked at and the possible need for new brakes. Turns out I needed new brake pads and rotors– before doing any of the work they presented me with a quote which was half of what I had estimated. They offered me a ride home (I already had one arranged though) and had the work done within a couple of hours, staying true to the original quote. The shop is super clean and the staff is friendly. I’ll be going back soon for a tune up.

Not the worst, but definitely not the best.
I brought my car for heating issues and the first thing they did was change the radiator (very expensive). Came back a week later with heating issues still and was told that there was an electrical problem causing the fan not to turn on. I was charged a fair amount for this fix, but I still wonder whether the heating issue was related to the fan and not the radiator and that changing the radiator was not necessary. This increased my suspicions about this place but I understand it can be hard to diagnose heating issues. About 2 weeks later I STILL have heating issues and I come back in and they say that my radiator hose clamps are loose and charge me 50 bucks to tighten them. At this point, I am thinking, «well you just changed my radiator 4 weeks ago and the wiring with my fan and I am still getting heating issues. You either did not diagnose the issue correctly or you did not tighten the clamps after changing the radiator and/​or the fan.» I think this third time was definitely not a charm and they should NOT have charged me 50 dollars for either their misdiagnosis or their straight-​up mistake. It is a sign that they messed up if I come in 3 times for the same issue within the same month AND get charged for each visit.
I would not say they are dishonest, but they are not the most qualified shop out there and they definitely can improve on customer service (i.e., fixing the issue in ONE visit and/​or not charging for making adjustments that could have been their fault in the first place).
The prices are reasonable but on the higher end. Cheaper than the dealer, but less competent. My personal search for a mechanic did not end here and I eventually found someone better. I would suggest you keep on looking instead of bringing your car here.

Cobb Galleria Automotive is great! I just moved across town and needed an oil change and tires rotated. I had no idea where to go, but found this business on Unilocal and was not disappointed. I didn’t have an appointment, but my wait was less than you typically experience at a dealership. It is obvious that they have a loyal customer base, because all the customers there seemed to know the mechanics by name. They were friendly and didn’t try to sell me services I didn’t need. I will definitely be going back for any automotive needs.

I never thought I could love taking my car in for oil changes and repairs before, but I’m always delighted to take it here. The staff is personable and friendly in every interaction, and they want what’s best for you. I can honestly say this is a place that is not out to take your money. As an example of this, I took my VW here to change the back brakes one Saturday morning. After I left it there, they called me to let me know that I still had plenty of life left on the brake pads and told me that it was quite unnecessary to change them. They could have easily taken my money and not said a word, but they did the honest thing. I’m about to move away from Atlanta, and I can only hope that there’s an automotive place as helpful as this one in the next city!

Based on the market prices on what’s quoted and the services they have for your automobile, they can be trusted to perform work. It will cost you because of the labor. But in reality, most automotive places labor prices (quotes) will be in the same area as far as the price. I would recommend them because their turnaround isn’t backed up.

Would like to thank you fellow Unilocalers for leading us here. It is always nervewracking to have to find a good mechanic when you move somewhere new, and both of our cars needed a little love. We’ve brought both here and felt well taken care of both times. We didn’t have an appointment either time but that was no problem.
We’ll continue to take our cars here and look forward to a long relationship with them!

Upon hearing of Cobb Galleria Automotive from a co-​worker and no longer having the option to take my car to a Saturn dealer for them to inspect, I decided to give Cobb Galleria a call with my latest issue.
The problem? A Service Engine Soon light that had recently come on. I called to let them know I would be bringing it in, and let them know I also wanted the car looked over for 90k mile service and an oil change. The appointment was schedule quickly and properly, and shockingly, the person on the phone was even friendly! Maybe I’ve been missing the boat on this for years, but I’ve never had a friendly car repair place.
I arrived with the sick car shortly after they opened and left the car with them (they have a shuttle option for those who live/​work nearby to return home). Within 3 hours, they had run the code on my car and run several tests to identify the solution and walked me through each of these steps via phone. They also informed me of what I would need from my 90k service and gave me an estimated time of completion that afternoon.
Sure enough, I arrived back at the estimated time of completion and the friendly employees greeted me and promptly provided my car back, now in good health and all issues having been completely resolved.
For their efficiency, friendliness, and good quality and price for their work, it’d be hard to beat what Cobb Galleria Automotive does for their customers, and I wouldn’t hesitate recommending them for your car service needs in a heartbeat.
