Rockwell’s Bar and Grill

Love their bar menu ½ price appetizers from 12:00 to 7:00 pm. Lunch is really good. The server for lunch when I was there was Megan and she made it a very pleasant experience.

Ok so i drove out to smithtown long island from staten island with my buddy to meet up with both of our nephews and on the way there we had no idea where to go to eat with them so i jumped on Unilocal and asked JASON & ROSE to help me out (my friends on and off Unilocal). So they both suggested this bar/​restaurant and we were more then satisfied with their suggestion. As we pulled up we werent that impressed from the outside but as soon as we all walked in (party of 6) we were very impressed, soon as you walk in there’s the bar right infront of you with more than enough stools. Then to the left was the dinning tables with booths to the left and square tables in the middle perfect for 4 or the corny couples that like to sit next to eachother instead of across eachother lol and towards the back there are the bigger tables (basically the same square tables pushed together) which is where we sat. Soon as we sat a very sweet waitress came right over to help us, she was the owners daughter and told us her brother was the bartender. We all loved the fact that it was a family run business, i forgot her name but she was AWESOME, she took the time to explain some of the dishes and made some suggestions. I mean she was one of the nicest waitresses I’ve come across in a long time so right off the bat we knew that we were in for a treat, so we ordered 5 different wings, maple honey, Honey BBQ, garlic parmesan, medium buffalo, and Thai chili. While waiting for the wings we ordered from their great selection of micro brewery beers and of course the big names on tap, beers were very cold and fresh. So after a few sips the wings were served and i was happy to see that unlike most other places, their orders of wings were 12 pcs not 8 or 10 like other places for $ 8.99 you cant go wrong (the thai chili is the best imo). Ok so now as we’re all surfing through the menu we all agreed the burgers looked great so we all agreed to get a burger, i got the mushroom swiss with caramelized onions and bacon with fries. When the burgers came to the table they actually looked even better than they did in the pics on the menu and i couldnt wait to devour it, at first bite I realized I was in burger heaven the burger was cooked exactly the way i asked med/​rare and it was served on a brioche bun, the flavors just blended so well together .Then the fries were thick and very crispy (PERFECT). At this point I was already full but couldn’t stop eating because everything was so good, I will definitely be coming to this establishment a lot more often and I’m so glad that I tried it. Rockwell, keep up the great job guys !!!

Im from Brooklyn NY and stopped by a friends house in Smithtown, so we decided to grab some wings so we went to Rockwell and the wings were very tasty and had to try burgers. The Burgers and fries were delicious! We were a group of 6 and all of us enjoyed to the last bite

I live nearby and frequent this bar restaurant often. One of the main features is happy hour which runs everyday 7days from 12 – 7 with 2fers on beer, wine, and well drinks plus half price appetizers.
Food is excellent, I love the wings and steak sandwich, I tend to order them often but have had fish and chips, burgers, sliders… Honestly all the good is well prepared, nicely presented and always satisfies. Staff is equally on par, they are quick to seat and serve and always offer suggestions. Bar scene is also excellent, a fairly common and local crowd. This bar restaurant is worth a visit with something to please everyone.

Not really sure why this place doesn’t have better reviews but here goes.
Came here for happy hour, and was pleasantly surprised. First off, not many restaurants on Long Island have happy hour everyday from 12−7pm! That’s unheard of, at least from my understanding.
Ordered three food items off the menu and they were all very good and flavorful. Also ordered one of their special drinks, and it was delicious! I watched the bartender make the drink, and although she put in a ton of alcohol, it still tasted like juice! Justtttt what I was looking for.
Not sure how their entrees are, but all of the food sounded good. I will be back to try their entrees.

I was there on a Wednesday night since I had heard they would be hosting a trivia night (not sure if it is a weekly game). Between trivia night, and the met playoff game, there was significant amount of people. Even with the crowd, the bartenders were really attentive, poured good strong drinks, and my glass was never empty. They do have a full menu, however appetizers are half price for happy hour. I had the sliders and the shrimp appetizers, the food was ok for typical bar food. I will definitely go again, the atmosphere was lively, the employees were friendly, they food ok for the price.

1^st time there on Sunday… the 2 bartenders where very nice and attentive, my glass was never empty. The food on the other hand not so great. Sliders bread was stale, meat (lack of) over cooked, mac and cheese bland and wings uncooked… Happy Hour Specials are Great So I’ll definetly GO Back And try Something Different to eat.

I have gone a few times maybe hoping this place would get better.
Nachos had fake cheese sauce on them. Boneless chicken is sweet when you order it with hot sauce.
Only really great thing is half apps and certain drinks before 7. So you can’t beat it for a quick bite.

Love the bar and it’s location. It’s the bartenders that seem annoyed when you want a drink. We’ve gone 3x and left bc when it’s busy odds are you’re interrupting the bartenders eating and you get that sigh when you ask for anything but a beer.
Place could be awesome! Kind of sad actually that an owner would allow it’s customers to feel that way.

This place is great! Just moved to the area and we think we found our go to place. We haven’t had a bad meal yet. The steak sandwich is my personal fav but the sautéed chicken with broccoli rabe is a close second. Nothing has disappointed yet. Oh and 2 for 1’s during happy hour.

Had lunch here today for the first time.
Parking lot was packed so I thought they’d be real busy, not the case.
Dining room was empty, I ate at the bar with about 10 – 12 other guys.
½ prices apps for lunch. I got the sliders and Mac n cheese. I’m happy they were half price b/​c would not have been worth the full price. Sliders had bacon on them according to the menu, didn’t have any on mine. Maybe only for full price customers. Mac n cheese was very average.
Service was pretty poor. Had to ask for silverware, napkins and ketchup after food arrived. No offer of another soda. No follow up of how my food was.
Other menu items looked good so I might give them 1 more try.

Tough to write a review on the ROCK
Because the happy hour prices are better than most pubs in the area. 2 for 1 drinks (real beer like blue moon, not the piss beer like bud and coors) & (real drinks like Malibu bay breezes, not just vodka cranberry)
And ½ off appetizers. Big selection too
The actual quality and taste of appetizers. This is where trouble in paradise sets in.
Loaded nachos, meh, average. Loaded nachos at jimmy buffets margaritaville a home run 5 stars. Is it unfair of me to compare Rockwells nachos to margaritaville nachos? Depends. I think the manager and owner want to compete with the best of the best. I could say loaded nachos at Rockwells are way better than Taco Bell nachos. But is that saying much? To be the best, you must beat the best. Rockwells creative chef can find a way to top the nachos at margaritaville. I have faith, I hope the manager/​owner has faith too. I’d love to hear the response.
Wings, a tad bit better than average. Yes, better than Kelli’s wings, better than Hooter wings. bUT NOT better than Buffalo Wild Wings or Healy’s in Greanlawn. Again, to be the best, you must beat the best.
So I ask, balls in your court Rockwells. It’s all up to the chef to use a little creativity. what are you gonna do when hulkamania runs wild on you, Rockwells…

Bar /​Restaurant
This place is always packed out for one reason or another– but for the life of me, I don’t get it.
We hit it up on a Friday and had the worst bartenders on the planet. It never occurred to them to actually come back to see if we wanted to order — or even if we wanted refills after our first drinks. Terrible.
The place has a large bar but the 2 girls just hang out where ever their friends are — — so good luck getting service.
We left — it sucked.

Great bar… I’ve never really eaten the food except for bar food/​apps. The chicken quesadillas are good. Bartenders are the nicest around esp the girl on Tuesday nights. Always a good well rounded crowd all ages. & I like that they have a jukebox for tunes. I’ve never had a bad night here

Nice friendly clean place. Their menu is diversified and they are accommodating even if you want something not on the menu. I usually sit at the bar and the staff is friendly and engaging. There’s an interesting mix of cliente that come here. It’s one of the few places I feel comfortable popping into alone.

We eat here for lunch and dinner. The food is so much better than what you would normally expect from a bar/​grill. Top notch chef and servers. Have also had parties and everything was handled perfectly from the menu, place settings to the cake. The owners have held fundraisers here and are a big part of the community. Rockwells is a great place to eat, drink and relax!

I love Rockwell’s, Friendly staff a great menu. Happy hour is great, lovely out door patio (I am an a/​c girl myself) A nice neighbor place, Plenty of regulars so you know they must be doing something right,
Oh! and really good burgers, And for the no carb people tons of different flavor chicken wings and a great chop house salad, real blue cheese not that wishbone bottles stuff you get at most places. One of my favorite places

I enjoy going to Rockwell’s Bar and Grill because the food is delicious and the staff is so friendly! They also have a great Happy Hour and nice food choices as well.

Definitely suggest stopping in for a beer and a burger.

I would come back for the 2fers and happy hour prices! Our party of 6 had so much food and a couple of drinks and the total was less than $ 60! The waitress and hostess were really friendly and nice. Waitress was definitely a sweetheart and knew how to entertain a crowd!
The place was really crowded when we went last Friday night.
If it weren’t for the cheap prices, their place would just be alright because their food isn’t completely delicious.
If you’re not looking for a really tasty meal but just something to fill your stomach and have a couple of drinks, this is the place for you!
appetizers–
buffalo wings: didn’t have that much meat on them.
nachos– huge plate of nachos with LOTS of toppings, meat, olives, lettuce, tomato, the good stuff. gets really messy!
sliders — order has 3 of them, they were alright tasting. with fried onion rings on top of the patty.
chicken egg– these were also just okay, not much flavor except the beans overpower the entire thing.
i feel like they were those appetizers you get in freezer aisle and put in oven… but hey it’s a fun time there!
