Neuropsychological evaluations for children and adults require a specialized skill set that combines advanced knowledge of brain-behavior relationships, detailed understanding of disorders that affect the brain and a compassionate hand to help patients and their families to deal with complex problems. These problems affect cognitive, emotional, behavioral, social, vocational and academic functioning. Often we are left with many unanswered questions regarding the impact that a particular condition has on the ability to function in the community. Knowing how to best address these needs is essential in order to promote optimal personal functioning.
As a neuropsychologist, I specialize in the evaluation of children and adults who are experiencing difficulties that are the result of either medical or mental health related issues, including learning (e.g., Dyslexia) & attention problems (e.g., ADHD), brain injury, concussion, dementia, epilepsy & autism spectrum disorders. My goal is to provide an understanding you with an in-depth understanding of the unique areas of strength & weakness that you or your child present with & the factors that limit optimal functioning. We will develop a treatment plan, including appropriate school-based accommodations, that will reduce the impact that these problems have.
Psychological treatment is provided to children, adolescents, and adults and is targeted to improve those areas that are preventing the person from functioning more effectively.
