The Grand 16 – Slidell

Good theatre. Like every theatre the food is a little pricy, but they have a card you can buy that gets money added to it every time you buy a movie. You can then use this extra money to buy snacks or movies.
The theatre has many room which means lost of movies. The rooms are split into 2 hallways on each side of the theatre with each having a bathroom at the end.

It’s your typical, over-​priced, big-​box, blockbuster-​featuring, corporate movie theater in the middle of nowhere. Canal Place shows movies of much greater depth and purpose.

My wife and I have these date nights. This particular night we decide to stay in town and watch a movie instead of traveling further away to the movie tavern in Covington. I’m glad we have this theater a try. I was really impressed with it. I was expecting a theater filled with hoodlums and I really despise those people that theater hop especially when they walk in, in-​the-​middle of the movie. This theater was great, we came here on a Wednesday night and it wasn’t busy. They offer a military discount and a regular ticket is reasonably priced. The lady in the glass booth was nice and professional. Since we had dinner prior to the movie, we didn’t get a drink nor popcorn. We did however purchased Twizzlers and sour gummies. The clerk behind the counter was very nice and very professional. There’s a fairly large arcade room but we didn’t have time to play any games. There’s also a Willy Wonka candy dispenser in the lobby. The seats in the theater are one of the most comfortable seats I’ve experienced in a movie theater. The seat backs recline a little and the seat bottom also give a little. The sound and picture was excellent, can’t complain. It’s one thing to watch a really good movie but you need a great theater to really enjoy the experience. The Grand delivers a superb venue for your movie watching experience.

No complaints. Great place to relax and kick back. AMERICAN SNIPER was great. No one sat in front of me blocking my view. thanks to the «stadium» seating. LoL
Great place. My favorite in the area. And I drive all the way from Hancock County.

I loved going here. It was a newer Grand, so it was clean. The movies were never packed, so there were lots of seats to choose from.

Pros — Always clean, friendly employees, good sound quality and comfy seats.
Cons — Pretty steep on the prices so we only get to go every once in awhile.
All in all it’s what you would expect from a large theater. If you’re wanting to see a popular movie on a Friday or Saturday night be sure to get there early or chances are you won’t be able to really pick your seats.

I love going to the movies and this theater is pretty great. The seats are really comfortable and are stadium style so the screen is never blocked by someone’s head. The acoustics are great and the employees have always been friendly and efficient.
I love that they show really popular movies on two (sometimes even three) different screens. I have never been told they were sold out and I’m sure it’s for this reason.
If you like to go to the movies frequently, I think getting a Reel Rewards card is completely worth it. It’s $ 10 a year and you get a free small popcorn and drink when you sign up. Additionally, you’ll receive a free birthday bonus and free size upgrades on popcorn and drinks on all future visits.
Of course, I still sneak candy in and never buy it here, but that’s kind of difficult to do with popcorn and drinks, so if you like eating popcorn at the movies get the card!

The Grand theater is pretty big for a place like slidell. I am glad it is here. The popcorn and snack prices are outrageous, but I guess that is expected.

Clean theaters, movies start on time, great sound and comfortable seating.

I would love to give this theater 4 stars, but the snack prices are outrageous! I can’t take my kids to the movies without spending $ 50! I know, I know, all theaters are expensive. And I would give them all 3 starts. This theater offers you a rewards card or something, but I have yet to see where it gives me any deals. I do like that on Tuesdays it is half price all day for regular movies. Kind of sucks there is not discount of 3D or IMax movies…
As for the way it looks and feels… It is clean, It sometimes has a funny smell, but not always. It feels comfortable. I don’t have to worry about walking out with ice sickles hanging off of me. The chars are very comfy. They rock back and forth if you want them to and the arm rests go up and down.
So, when you go to the movies, you will be comfy. Just plan on spending lots of money.

Besides high snack prices. Always clean theaters and next time I go I’m trying the D-​box seats!!!

Tucked behind a forest, the Grand is the Slidell area’s largest cinema. Although it may seem like the theater is located in the middle of nowhere, the mall and it’s neighboring shopping centers are all located within a couple of miles from each other.
Quite literally, the Grand lives up to it’s name. The theater itself is quite large, closer to what you’d expect to see in a major city. Because of it’s size, the theater is never too crowded, you can always find a nice seat to sit in. The theater is also very clean and well kept, one of the cleanest theaters I’ve ever been too.
Ticket prices are pretty reasonable, about average for a large cinema. Concession prices are very high and moviegoers can expect to pay more on drinks and snacks than anything else in the theater, including their tickets. On the flip side, the concessions are pretty decent in comparison to other theaters.
Service at the ticket and concession desks are pretty expedient. The workers are also a lot friendlier than what you’d normally expect in movie theater.
The viewing experience here is great, one of the best you’d find at a conventional theater. The screens are large, the seats are comfortable, and the speakers will knock your socks off.
Overall, this is a great movie theater. especially when consider the area. The only real downside is that it’s hidden behind a bunch of trees, which makes it easy to miss. I would definitely recommend over other nearby cinemas.

Small but clean, never super packed, and their game room is always open for biz. I love their nachos compared to Amc theaters! The only reason why it didn’t get 5 stars is because it’s kind of hiding behind a forest so it’s a little creepy driving here at night but that’s Slidell for you.

We weren’t alone in the theater with fingers in our ears. Everyone loves a loud movie experience, but when ½ your audience is plugging their ears maybe it’s time to turn it down a couple notches.
