History

Established in 2012.

Southern Smiles Family Dentistry has evolved from the practice of Jeanne Reeves, DDS. Dr. Reeves was the first female dentist in Slidell LA and one of the first in the state. She operated a successful private practice for over 35 years. Her patients developed a great relationship with her from the tender and attentive environment provided. Dr. Timothy F. Pristas purchased her practice in 2012.

Timothy F. Pristas, DDS, earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University following undergraduate studies at Miami University of Ohio. Since graduation, Dr. Tim has completed a fulltime, year-​long General Practice Residency at The Cleveland Clinic (top ranked hospital in the USA). During the residency, he worked one-​on-​one with multiple specialists within the field of dentistry.

Business Owner

Timothy F. Pristas DDS, earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University following undergraduate studies at Miami University of Ohio. Since graduation, Dr. Tim has completed a fulltime, year-​long General Practice Residency at The Cleveland Clinic (top ranked hospital in the USA). During the residency, he worked one-​on-​one with multiple specialists within the field of dentistry. His year comprised experience in oral surgery, implant placement and restoration, esthetic and cosmetic dentistry, prosthodontics (dentures), endodontics (root canals), medical management of compromised patients, neuromuscular and TMJ treatments as well as fundamental general dentistry.

Additional to his Cleveland Clinic residency training, Dr. Tim has completed a one year conscious sedation program (intravenous anxiety/​pain management) with Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Along with copious hours of continuing education, Dr. Tim completed training as an EMT-​b (emergency medical technici
