History

Established in 2001.

ABEK Real Estate was founded in January 2001 by a small group of real estate agents led by Beth Kobeszko, ABEK’s first broker. The new company benefited from the agents’ long experience, their quality personal service, and their innovative spirit.

Only a few months later ABEK’s resilience was tested by a tragic fire that destroyed the offices of ABEK and nine neighboring businesses. The agents and staff proved themselves by surviving several weeks working out of private homes, replacing documents, and reordering equipment, all while continuing to sell houses.

As ABEK prospered and attracted more agents, even its larger second office at 1503 Gause Blvd. became too tight. In March 2004 the company moved into a spacious, newly constructed building at 820 Oak Harbor Blvd. ABEK’s office is conveniently located in Slidell just off Interstate 10 exit 261, the first exit north of Lake Pontchartrain. The beautiful waterfront setting is a bit of lagniappe for ABEK agents and customers alike.
