This is an exceptional hardware store. There are employees ready to help you out as soon as you walk through the door most of the time. And if they’re with other customers, they notice you and come to your aid whenever they’re available. The owner is really nice and is on the floor most of the time ready to help you out.
The employees are knowledgeable about many things and can even help you out with suggestions on projects that you might have.
There’s free popcorn AND they have Frosttop rootbeer for sale here. ;)
They also have a relatively quick repair shop in the back. The prices are fair and if you bring your tools in, they often will have an diagnostic and a price quote right there on the spot for you.
This is the hardware store I go to for specialized needs. I don’t bother with Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-​mart or anywhere else.

If customer service is more important than endcaps, then «Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man». 27 aisles front & back, (4) walls filled with items. Constant help and skilled knowledge based upon years of experience. Building a house you learn the distances and times to hardware places because you visit them every single day. If time is money this store adheres to the old saying «six in one-​half dozen in the other». I would recommend it to my grandmother that was told to «pick up some parts» for a handyman… She’s in good hands at this store. I can’t speak for other stores…
