Shining Star Learning Center

My child was in the 0 – 2 room and I would reccomend this daycare. The infant room teachers are awesome and really knew my baby. She learned a lot being in this daycare for 9 months. The owner Lana is amazing as well.
Pros– Great infant teachers — my child LOVED her teachers, tons of activities: songs, drawings, holiday gifts. Has outside play area and they take walks in the nice weather, good routine with kids
Cons-​Currently has high turnover rate with teachers in older kids room, Wish they did a newsletter with pictures, babies are strapped in chairs, exersaucers a lot (they still give them activities) but until they start walking did I see them running around (not that big of a deal)
Overall, the price was good and I would reccommend it.

In the beginning I was extremely excited when I enrolled my three month old daughter in the infant program in preparation of going back to work. I had visited at least four other centers and researched over a dozen other places before choosing Shining Star. My ultimate decision to enroll my daughter was after a wonderful conversation with the owner. My first time mommy fears of leaving my baby were put to ease as I felt she had more than enough experience with children.
However over the course of the three months there I had a few experiences that were unpleasant that lead me to take my daughter out of the center. Paying a good amount of money weekly I felt there were basic standards to expect.
First thing that I didn’t like was a gash on my daughters thigh that is now a scar that no one mentioned or seemed to know how it happened. They mentioned they use gloves while changing diapers so this made me even more curious as to what happened as my baby could not crawl or bump into things on her own.
Second thing that bothered me was full/​dirty diapers when I picked up my daughter. After I mentioned this they always made sure she was changed right before I arrived. Even so, four out of the five days I always took home dirty changes of clothes. On numerous occasions more than one outfit.
Third gripe. The regular teachers I saw in the morning became new faces. Then the evening teachers became new faces as well. The turnover rate made it difficult to remember anybody. The teacher to baby ratio is 3:1. One teacher, a baby in each arm while entertaining a third on the floor.
The good things about this place is the early and late hours that made it convenient to drop off and pickup my daughter after work. They school is small so it isn’t loud or smelly. And it feels more like a home rather than a factory setting for children.

A truly great daycare center. Everything is clean, great meals, fun activities, wonderful and knowledgable teachers. My friends kids attend this daycare and they could not be happier. A hidden gem and a worthwhile daycare center leaving kids happy with great academics. Send your kids here and you will not be dissapointed!
