Specialties

Response is a program of JCFS (Jewish Child and Family Services), providing counseling, education and supportive resources for adolescents and young adults (age 12 to 24) and their families. Individual, family and group counseling is provided by experienced Social Workers (LCSW’s) and Counselors (LCPC’s), helping teens and families cope with a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, parent-​teen communication and relationship issues. Sexual health care services are offered on site, via a multi-​disciplinary team of social workers and medical providers. Services include birth control, pregnancy testing, and testing for sexually transmitted infections (STI’s). Experiential education and prevention programs are offered to schools, camps, synagogues and community centers with topics ranging from bullying prevention, comprehensive sex education, self-​esteem, body image, team building, stress management and LGBTQ issues.

History

Established in 1970.

Response initially focused on adolescent substance abuse, but has since widened its scope to include a wide range of adolescent and family emotional and social concerns.

Our mission is to support adolescents, young adults and their families in the Jewish and general community by providing prevention, outreach, counseling and medical services in a teen-​friendly environment that empowers youth to make healthy life choices.

Response Center provides individual, family and group counseling, along with services focused on adolescent sexual health and outreach and prevention programs. Staffed by social service professionals, Response welcomes teens of all religions, races and ethnic backgrounds.
