I’ll start with the pros: When I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during the third trimester of my pregnancy, I was referred here. –Dr. Bloomeier was very helpful and a great endocrinologist. –The nurses here, especially Sandy and Barb, were fabulous and very detailed throughout this whole process –Free parking is always a bonus(even though taking public transportation here is a headache) Cons: –When he says ‘Come back in a week’ and I go up to the front desk to book my next appointment, they schedule me for three weeks later because that is the ONLY free time that he has, and then, I get a phone call asking why I didn’t schedule an earlier appointment. –When I try to reschedule an appointment, around 10pm on a Monday night, they send out an email via the Northshore website letting me know that they’ve booked me for a 8:30am appointment on a Tuesday. What if I didn’t check my email? Would I have not known about my appointment? –When I schedule an appointment and since their hours are only 8am — 5pm, I have to take personal time off of work, I still have to sit in their waiting room for an hour before being seen. Since I’ve been greedy with my personal time off of work(because I have unpaid maternity leave), it really pisses me off that I’m just sitting there waiting. So, overall, great doctors and great nurses, but booking appointments through them is a huge headache. And what’s the point of booking an appointment when I’m still going to have to waste another hour of my time in their waiting room?
